One week.turned into two, then the excuse was we need two more weeks for a manager to get back from vacation. After several weeks of silence, I finally received a voicemail from Bruce stating, "I'm glad you received my calls last week--we need to connect to finalize." This was puzzling, as I had not received any previous calls or voicemails from him. It felt like an attempt to retroactively cover for his lack of follow-through. Out of options, I went to the local office in person, where Bruce--who was the only person available--told me he couldn't complete my taxes due to an issue with my LLCs. I tried to explain that this was precisely why I was there: to clarify the structure of my holding company and LLC, and to provide documentation showing the matter had already been resolved. He wouldn't hear any of it. He dismissed the conversation entirely and refused to assist further. Attempts to escalate to management went unanswered. In the end, I lost over six weeks waiting for support that never came--only to be turned away by someone whose skills appear limited to the most basic returns. If you're filing anything more complex than a standard W-2, I strongly recommend you avoid Jackson Hewitt. Save yourself the frustration and wasted time. Use a platform like TurboTax or seek out a tax professional with actual expertise--someone who won't string you along only to tell you they can't help.

Bruce told us that a rental property loss was not a reportable loss. I rea searched this and he is wrong. I spoke with him about my findings and rather than looking into it refused to do anything about it. He knew nothing about the code i referenced but on the following day knew everything. There is actually a form that suspends the loss, apparently indefinitely. (or at least 10 years that I know of) I nor sure why he decided he was right but he's not in a position to do this with the companies guarantee.
