While Diane Howard- "the tax lady"- was helpful to me in certain circumstances, I experienced two…read moremajor problems in working with her that generated unnecessary stress and financial loss. First, Diane Howard is inconsistent in responding to calls and emails- during tax season and after tax season. During instances that I called and she answered, she was attentive. However, there have been several times over the years that I contacted her by phone and email and it took her weeks and repeated attempts on my part for her to contact me. The problem has gotten worse instead of better: I contacted her over 5 times over a period of a few months to resolve a couple time sensitive, pertinent issues. I let her know it was very important to resolve these with her quickly. I received NO response from her. Her negligence is unacceptable for any professional, including a tax accountant, who is supposed to be helpful and prompt and honest. In another instance, she used her authority in a way that I did not authorize and I incurred a financial loss. These things could have been resolved easily and respectfully but her lack of contact made that impossible. Even though there are times when she has been professional, her pattern of behaving unprofessionally can- and has- easily and quickly lead to unnecessary stress and financial losses. I hope this review helps others to avoid problems with her. I will no longer be using her as my accountant.
