About two weeks before his death, in his hospital bed in his home, he dictated this review of HPM, and specifically Dave Trudo. More than the words that he dictated, which were from the heart, the fact that he thought enough of Dave and his company to be concerned with making sure that this was done is testimony enough........this is what he asked me to post: Over the 24 years that I was in business, I had many insurance men called on me or come into my store. Some gave you the impression that all they wanted to do was make a quick sale. Others made an effort to feign interest in your business and your needs. The third type of person are not only interested in what you need, but also are truly interested in helping you prepare for the future with the things that are in your best interests. This is a very rare and exceptional person. In the time I was in business, there was only one that excelled in this manner- that man's name is Dave Trudo. On December of 2000, Dave called me and told me that there was something that my wife and I should consider. He wanted to meet with us because he felt it was very important and in my best interests. When he met with us, he was showed me a long term care policy. He said to me "Alec, the reason why I'm bringing this up is that this policy at this price will only be available to you for the next year or two. First of all, it is a lifetime guaranteed policy- if you wait two more years, you will pay as much, if not more for only a three year policy. So, I think it is in your interest to buy now and get the guaranteed lifetime policy." He went on to describe several other benefits. After explaining to me and my wife about the true value of this policy, we decided to sign up. It is now 14 years later and I never expected to have to use the policy, but cancer struck, almost totally disabling me. I have started using the policy and it is everything that Dave described. I would be seriously in debt to pay for the type of service that I'm getting from the policy. I can truly say that if someone else had come in and offered me the same policy, I probably never would have bought it. But knowing Dave, and knowing he has always been on my side, I bought the policy for both myself and my wife. I owe a great debt of gratitude to Dave for caring enough to give me this opportunity. I opened a new auto insurance policy with Plymouth Rock Assurance and requested to have the policy…read morestart date moved up so it would take effect earlier in the month. My request was addressed by HPM, and while it was not a simple task to move up the start date (they had to issue me a new policy with the same coverage amounts and new start date), the representative who helped me through the process was extremely helpful and personable. She took care of every step of the process for me and responded to my questions very quickly, going out of her way and making me feel like I was really being put first. Definitely great customer service!

I was waiting for some sizable checks from the insurance company so that construction could continue on my residence, I had been paying the contractor out of my pocket. TD held the mortgage so I reached out to the manger ahead of time to let her know so that she could work on the process on her end as the bank needed to sign off on the checks. I stressed the importance of this as I had to pay the contractor and I was aware it was summer and vacation season for many. She assured me it would be taken care of. Well when she didn't respond to my phone calls and emails a couple of days later I called the branch and was told she went on vacation. She did so without informing her staff of anything that was going on. She did the one thing she assured me would not happen. Her staff got it taken care of after some time, I never even received an apology from her. Not that I was surprised at that she was a very judgmental woman from the beginning. When I went into speak with her the first time and told her the amount of the checks she looked at me and asked me if I burned my house down. Apparently a professional woman can't wear jeans and a T-shirt and some skulls on her day off without being judged. While this branch is awful TD as a whole is horrific. Think twice about getting your mortgage through them. They nitpicked every detail on all my bank information from the letterhead it was on to what side of the paper the account type was written on. Then about a week and a half later they get back to me telling me the names don't match. I'm sorry wouldn't the names be the first thing you checked??!!
