While I hired them specifically to address an excess FICA-OA overpayment, they failed to do so, demonstrating a lack of expertise and attention to detail. Multiple Errors and Wasted Time Despite discussing my specific tax situation and the excess social security overpayment from my two W-2s multiple times--first on the phone and again during our in-person meeting--Valhalla Tax Services did not properly address the issue. Instead of helping me with this specific need related to my filing, I was met with a frustrating lack of understanding and was eventually told by Scott Kunz that it was my employer's responsibility to handle the overage. This advice directly contradicted the explicit instructions I had from my company, which clearly stated they have a standing agreement with the IRS and are not able to issue refunds themselves. The entire reason I hired a professional was for this specific, complex issue, and Valhalla Tax Services completely failed to deliver. The irony is that before I even filed, they tried to upsell me on additional services generally and specifically for my upcoming international work assignment. Thank goodness I decided to wait and see how the tax filing went before committing to any more support from them. Compounded Frustration and Lack of Professionalism To make matters worse, this wasn't the first mistake. During our tax filing meeting, I had to point out that an entire W-2 had been missed. This pattern of errors and the subsequent lack of responsiveness--leaving me to assume they couldn't help--is unacceptable. The failure to handle a key component of my tax return has cost me time, money, and immense frustration, especially since I'm trying to resolve this from another country while on international assignment for work, at this point. I would not recommend Valhalla Tax Services to anyone in need of competent tax preparation. Their service was a complete waste of time and money, and I'm now forced to find another professional to correct their mistakes.
