On October 18th, I engaged one of their "Tax Pros" to prepare my personal taxes as well as two business returns. She provided me with a quote of $615 for the preparation of all three returns, which I accepted. I've attached a screenshot of the conversation. Despite an agreed-upon timeline of two weeks, it took the "Tax Pro" until November 16th to finalize my taxes. To my surprise, she then attempted to charge me an additional $539 for the preparation of one of my corporate returns, despite failing to prepare the second corporate return altogether. Making matters worse, the return she wanted to file was full of mistakes. Stuff that made me lose confidence in the "Tax Pro's" abilities as a professional, and made me concerned about her integrity. I had no choice but to decline the return and seek a refund and I have been patiently waiting for H&R Block to process my refund for over three months now with no resolution in sight. I've been in contact with the office manager, Ms. Heidi Hirsh, but she hasn't been any real help. I even filed a report with the BBB, but that went nowhere because H&R Block is not BBB-accredited. The accountant who has done my taxes for the last decade retired, and I figured I'd just go here for 2023. Big mistake. While I was grateful they were able to help me quickly, the process was a mess. 1- it cost more than I've ever paid to file my taxes, ever. Costs were not disclosed prior to preparation. 2- I received a phone call from the person filling my taxes. At her home. I gave her my bank account information, so everything could be e-filed. 3- I paid- IN CASH, and in person, signing the paperwork. 4- when I hadn't received my return 2 months later, I called to see if they knew anything. The IRS had NO record of my filing. 5- when I called, I was told they were waiting for payment and my signature. WHICH I HAD DONE IN PERSON 2 MONTHS PRIOR. 6- Apparently I gave my bank account info for no reason, as I just received checks in the mail this week. Expensive, poor service that clearly doesn't document or track what they or their employees are doing. I'm sure my bank account info is sitting on someone's dining room table. Had a horrible experience with this office. The tax prepaprer made numerous errors on my return, one of which would have cost me thousands of dollars if I hadn't caught it. She also took deductions on my return without consulting me. The office also billed me for services I didn't need and now, months later, still hasn't issued a refund. You will do better going elsewhere. read more

I was shocked at how unprofessional my experience at H&R Block was. They tried to file my taxes incorrectly three different times. First, the woman we were working with told us she would file before we had even gotten her all our documents. We submitted our documents, thinking we would need to pay back taxes. She told us we wouldn't, which seemed odd but we went with it. She assured us over and over that we did not owe anything They had the wrong addresss so I didn't sign the paperwork, and had a manager look it over. At this point it was the weekend before taxes were due, despite the fact that we started with more than a month to go. We called regularly and got ignored. On the day before taxes were due they finally called us back. Not only did they not apologize, they also lied and told us they had been calling and calling. Clearly a lie - we have iPhones that track even accidental one second calls! They then told us that we owed a large sum of money, lied about our previous conversations where we had asked about what we might owe. The conversation ended with the manager yelling at me. And to top it off, they were wrong about everything they tried to submit! Long story short, they were rude, hard to get in touch with, and tried to submit incorrect taxes to the IRS a number of times. If you can read English, are better off doing taxes yourself than trying to do it with H&R. read more

Just the worst. Didn't stick to the due date we discussed, instead swapped to "they'll be done when they're done". Office swapped to "appointment only" before I could finally pick them up, delaying another week. Refused to lower the price to reflect their awful service. Heed this warning: Don't come here. One star is way too generous. Each person at this location is stupider than the next. I called and was told my refund was $1100, but no they made a mistake and it's under $200. Absolute idiots! Go anywhere else! read more

Horrible....they did not even submit my taxes!!! They only did after we went to them asking where our return was! AND I paid ON TIME.... So now I am being faced with late charges and to top it off they had told us that we needed to pay for them in cash before hand (Which we did) then they also had it marked off to have us charged with our tax returns also for the preparation!!! Also the manager has completely ignored all of my emails for the last 3 weeks. The lack of professionalism held by the management and staff is appalling. People go here with a LOT of trust and do not think that this trust will be violated or treated like they do not matter enough to have what they paid for done correctly. read more

Do not go here for taxes. Not only did they continue to call my wife who I was filing with my "friend", they would not tell us the cost of services until after they finished our taxes. The fee was far more than I would have paid for the shorty work they did. In addition, they ended up messing up one of our names on the tax return form so that it was delayed in filing. They were less than helpful in the filing process and did nothing to try and help us reduce our taxes. read more
