If I had used Turbotax I'd probably have an extra $400 in my pocket, with only a little bit of extra work. I could see how this may be worth it if you have a small business or a very complicated tax situation, but not worth it for the typical taxpayer, IMO.

Seeing a "Numbers" person is something I legit have dreaded. Im not kidding. Dreaded as in nausea and bad nerves. But I made a vow to myself that I was going to bring in 2018 starting out on the right foot in all ways...and this was the biggest issue. So I put out the feelers for a good accountant/tax person and Ben came up. I promptly (before I totally chickened out) made an (out of body ) appt with Ben and Im so glad I did! Ben is SO good with nervous people and people that have limited comprehension of his world. He's very patient, kind and grounded, and that alone helped me be calm. He explained things in very simple and clear terms, could tell when I was starting to get overwhelmed and would crack a joke and bring me back around. I never once felt like an idiot. I left there feeling like I have a solid basic plan to get started on. David Harmsen was less than professional when preparing my Federal and Oregon State taxes for 2014…read more My information was forgotten. I had to call to remind him that he had my necessary paper work. This "boost" got action, however it took a considerable while before I was contacted to come into the office to pick up my paperwork. I paid his assistant the $390.00 due for his work before I left his office. My my taxes were to be electronically filed. I reviewed my deposit account weekly looking for my refund...it never appeared! Calling the office led me to Becky who, with apology told me my taxes were never filed. She also told me Dave would call me. He did not. After a second call to Becky at the office Dave did return my call. He explained he had "forgotten" to file my taxes! How does one do that?? Professional neglect or just a "slip" of the memory? Tax deadline is April 15th. David Harmsen filed my returns on August 5th 2015. If there are penalties due I have to assume he is responsible for them. David did apologize to me. That was appropriate. I am extremely disappointed in David Harmsen and Pacific Coast Accounting. My tax return got passed around and ultimately nobody knew who was finishing it so I ended up going to a completely different H&R Block where they helped A LOT faster.

Went in to renew licenses but no walk-in is available. Instead the made appointments for us on the…read moresame day. We went back later and the process is efficient. Checked in on a kiosk and waited in the first waiting area for our numbers to be called. The staff that helped us was extremely friendly, spoke two languages. Didn't take too long since we had all documents needed. Afterwards, we moved to the second waiting area to get our photos taken. Didn't take long at all for someone to get that done and print us a temporary license. Plastic ones will be mailed.
