I had a terrible first experience here, I am a fairly easy going person and typically put my trust in a professional I am dealing with. This year I went to this location as it was near my house, so very convenient and they're a chain company so figured they have trained, certified and professional staff to handle something as sensitive as tax returns, i assumed wrong. Unfortunately, the lady who helped me, Johanna, was a bit unsure of her self when doing my taxes (it appeared), because i work out of Florida but also remotely for another company (out of PA-- which i lived in PA for 4 months in 2018), i continued to work for them even after i moved down, so I had a PA state return as well as a federal return, she had a few questions and asked her associates for help, then we went through everything else, once they helped her with the PA stuff she seemed okay, so i stopped stressing. At the end of my appointment, Johanna printed everything for me, highlighted my federal refund amount and my "state refund" amount, now i'm not an accountant, or familiar with this stuff (hence why we pay people to do it for us), Johanna verbally said multiple times I was getting TWO refunds (a state(PA) and federal), the state refund was a nice little amount too so I was looking forward to that, she informed me I would be receiving 2 separate deposits since technically they're different, again, this may be me being naive or too trusting but not my profession so I took the "professionals" word on it. 1 month passes, I did get my federal return but never my state so I called to check in, the guy at the front desk tells me that i'm not getting a return, which i was shocked and confused, so Johanna picks up the line, tells me I AM getting a return, then i explain what the front desk clerk said, so she got confused and said, "oh, he said that?"-- which of course i explained, then she said let me give you a call back....SHE NEVER DID. The following day, i contacted the location again to follow up with her, she was not working so I spoke to the location manager, who was helpful and polite, Sabrina, however she did give me the unfortunate news that I had been misinformed, luckily for me i didn't go on a spending spree anticipating that money coming in but it still is infuriating. This was unprofessional, and incompetent of Johanna because taxes are something some people may depend on, she has only been doing this for a couple years and now I know why, sucks I had to experience something negative but maybe this will help her to be a little more thorough and accurate with something so serious, and help others to ask more questions and just because they're professionals does not mean they know what they're doing. Needless to say, I had a bad first experience with H&R Block and it will now be my last experience with them as well. read more

Do not go here! I had issues with my tax refund and the tax lady who handled it was kind of rude about it. She just was frustrated and didn't want to deal with me. Save yourself the $256 you have to pay for them to do it and do it yourself and get a more professional person. Period. Rude, rude, rude. read more
