I had Kim complete my taxes for years here without an issue. This year it was different, she rushed my tax appointment due to another customer coming in. I completed my taxes accept for one form I was waiting on. she told me I could email needed forms then come in and sign completed taxes. all the tax information we originally completed was lost, yet she acted as if that hadn't happened. I was told my taxes would be $308 and I ended up being charged almost $400! my taxes were delayed yet again when she rushed me through and failed to include a form she had scanned during my original appointment. The workers are honest but the Boss is horrible. Got a quote for $165 but than main boss quoted $475. I will never use H&R block ever again the management is horrible. Do it online and save money. read more

KIM-is amazing and helped me file for minor son who had taxes taken out by mistake. She really went out of her way to figure out this situation and what to, considering he might not have gotten enough back to pay the fee for filing. This review is for a satellite office at Mchenry Center, 2720 Mchenry Ave Ste N, Modesto, CA 95350 Phone: 209-526-1047 Last year a gal from this office filed my return, no issues. THIS YEAR my return sat there for over a month after being passed to one associate and back. These associates never called me once, they would leave requests for info in the HR Block message center online. I'd answer or upload documents and assumed they were working on my return. I WAS SO WRONG. These associates left for the season and also left my return behind without processing it or calling me directly. I called corporate and they reassigned my return to a woman in Missouri. On Thursday, April 22 she asked a few questions. Friday in the am, more questions and request for documents which was the third time I had uploaded my documents. This was all done thru HR Block portal, still not a phone call. Today is Monday, April 26. I have spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone with HR Block's corporate office to get to speak with the new person handling my return. The soonest I can speak with someone in that office is Wednesday. And there it sits...I am extrememly disappointed with HR Block and advise anyone that may consider using them to steer clear! read more

Might want to avoid this one if you can. I've always done my own taxes, with never a problem, with TurboTax. My husband and I bought a little farm though, and I needed help because TurboTax just was not getting me through what I needed to know for how to do depreciation, categorize assets, etc. I wanted to see someone in the Valley Springs office, so filled out the online form. I received a call a couple days later, by Robin, in the Ione office. She was so nice! She freely admitted she didn't know much at all about farms, farm deductions, or small business, but she proudly told me about the training she received at H&R Block. Fast forward to the day of the appointment. My calendar said it was at 1:30, but because the time had been changed a time or two by HR BLock, wasn't 100% confident i captured it right, so I called, and went to voicemail. To be safe, I got to Valley Springs at 1PM, in plenty of time for a 130PM appointment. I Walked into the office, and eventually Robin came out, and I asked if I could confirm my appointment time. 130. "Great!! I'll see you at 1:30!" When I got back at 1:25 PM, Robin was helping a man. After waiting for probably 10 or 15 minutes, I said, "I'll be next-door, if you want to let me know when you're ready!" She didn't sound too happy, and said, "you can give us another 15 minutes." As I spoke with the shopkeeper next-door, another man walked in. It's now 1:55 PM, and the guy who is 25 minutes on my time, walks out. I say goodbye to my friend the shopkeeper, and I walk in within less than 30 seconds. Guess who is now sitting in her chair, being helped? It wasn't me. She's now helping the last guy who walked in. He's in her office. He's sitting down. There's a wonderful woman in there who has 27 years experience but has had knee surgery. She walks up to the front desk working on something else, and I tell her I apologize, but enough is enough. I'm mortified, but I'm canceling my appointment. Maybe I offended Robin when I walked in at 1 PM and needed to verify my appointment? Or maybe I offended her when I said, "great! I'll be back at 1:30!" Maybe she's offended if she doesn't have people sitting for long periods of time and her lobby, and she felt I was disrespectful by running additional errands while I waited. I don't know, but the last person you want to have snarky at you is the person representing you to the IRS. Enough was enough. read more

I did my taxes online with H&R Block 2 years back. My stimulus was loaded on to the Emerald Card they gave me but was lost between moves. Anyways, I went online and seen you can get a card replaced in the offices instead of waiting the 14 days to get one mailed. So I go in, the open sign is off but their hours say they are open so I walk in and was treated like rudely. They made me feel so rushed and like they didn't want to help me. I asked for a replacement card and instead they have me the number I already called multiple times to order a new card over the phone. I will now be behind in bills because two rude women wanted to be lazy and not do their job. I will not be returning to H&R Block after this. read more

She has become more family than anything, and I rest easy knowing my taxes are done right the first time!! read more
