A customer came in a wanted to make an appointment. Something was wrong with her computer she said and couldn't put him in the schedule. The customer asked if she was the one that would help with his taxes. She said it might be someone else. He then said, last year I came here and the lady who helped me really screwed up! I had so many problems! I even had to go to the IRS office because of how bad she screwed up! That was red flag number 1! Anyway, I told her that I already filed my taxes but didn't hit submit yet. I wanted to go to a professional just incase I missed something. So she did a mock up to kind of estimate how much she could get me. First off, let me say, she is a VERY sweet lady. Very polite, good manners and everything. But, is very slow. Types with one finger on one hand the entire time. Then I gave her my 1098 form and she pushed it back to me saying she didn't need it. Red flag number 2! But yes she did indeed. Before even looking ever my paperwork, she said she will do a standard deduction. This is red flag number 3!I told her that I did the itemized deduction and looked confused. So I explained to her what big expenses I paid for. She then said oh, ok yeah. But she automatically thought to do the standard deduction BEFORE asking or looking at my paperwork. In the end, I didn't file with them. I will continue to file my own taxes. All in all she was a very nice lady, but I will never go back to this place.
