my go to nail place 100% love all those lovely ladies, they do fabulous work most definite!!!!

Got a basic manicure and I was happy with the technician's skill. What I liked: - she took care to remove *all* the old polish - the nipper, pusher, and clipper had been sterilized. The file and foam-backed finisher were new/unused. - she used a traditional cuticle pusher and nippers, not a dremel. Dremel grinders leave horizontal ridges that are noticeable with regular polish - she took her time and did a thorough job on my ragged cuticles - the polish job itself was careful - the price was very inexpensive What I did not like: - the nail drying time was 20 minutes (!) which is a long time to sit near the door on a cold day. The air from the nail dryer was cold - normally you get a hot towel treatment-- they didn't do this step - the hand massage was short and perfunctory Overall, I'm quite pleased with quality. read more

Worst manicure ever. no one except the owner speaks English. Shellac polish lifted in a week and she painted over my cuticles. Tried to explain my arthritis to no avail, just dealt with the pain. the girls only interact with each other. I felt like I was in an episode of Seinfeld. read more

Call ahead for an appointment first because this place is mighty popular! My mama-in-law and I were pleasantly surprised by the friendly environment occurring inside the H&T Nail Salon. We even witnessed a preschooler getting a full mani and pedi at the time and she walked out of here looking like a tiny diva! Her mother explained that they come in every two weeks, and in my mind, that's a good sign that this place is consistent enough. It's also clear to me that the nail technicians at H&T are skilled and strive to make both loyal and new customers happy. After reading the only other Yelp review on here, I did some research on the differences between Gel Nails and Shellac Nails. Just like the H&T nail technician described to me, both are long wear nail polishes heated under a UV-free lamp, delivering very similar results. In other words, if you compare a "hot tub" to a "jacuzzi" - both essentially mean the same thing, but one refers to a specific brand. In Los Angeles we call them Gel, and I guess on the east coast they call them Shellac - tomatooo, tomataaa. Either way, the prices are pretty comparable, with Shellac ranging $50 upwards and acrylics around $30. My mother-in-law left with a French tip pedicure and a basic, clear-coat manicure for $45 in total - not bad! And if you're a first-timer, no need to fear, so was she! They were able to cultivate her abused nail beds into something straight out of a magazine. Yes, as the other Yelper pointed out, the ladies who work here are not from Canada, so there may be a language barrier at first. However, they are more than eager to make conversation and ask about your day and share a few laughs if you open yourself up to the experience. And Wendy, you were awesome! I've stuck it out with this salon for a long time because they're convenient and cheap but no more. It is disgustingly dirty and the technicians have wildly varying skill levels. I have had my cuticles cut badly on my most recent three manicures, this time with blood running down my finger and the technician ignoring it. Her technique for cuticles included scraping and picking at them with her own fingernails!?! Don't let the plastic liners in the pedi stations fool you (they do absolutely nothing), have a look around the work stations etc., the hygiene is alarming. read more

I had the displeasure of going to H & T Nails yesterday to get what I was told would be gel nails. After a little research I found out that they had actually given me acrylic nails with a gel overlay on top, while charging me the full, far more expensive price of true gel nails. I guess this is a common scam nail salons try to pull. I returned the next day to ask for a refund. They argued with me in broken English as they are Chinese. One lady even pulled out the actual container the "gel powder" comes in, and right on the front it read "Acrylic Ester". Either they think their customer's are stupid or they're just very stupid. After pointing this out they refunded me the difference between Acrylic nails and Gel nails, and I left. God knows how many poor people they scam out of an extra $15 in the run of a day. I go there regularly and the girls are always helpful. They speak Vietnamese not Chinese. It is a bit broken but we do understand each other. I'm a regular and always will be. They are great!! read more

The ladies do quite nice work but most could use some work on their social skills. If you don't mind having your nails done while they talk to one another in their own language, you'll be fine! ;-) Do book an appointment ahead of time and remind them when you arrive (on time or earlier) that you have an appointment as they take walk-ins also. read more

I have visited this location a number of times, but the last two times I went I had made an appointment and was still forced to wait 30-40 minutes before I got helped in spite of having booked an appointment a week earlier. Then, like others I am reading about I was heading on vacation and decided I wanted to get some pretty nails and asked for Gel Nails to the tune of $45 plus my Pedicure of $30 turns out I was out of town and had gone else where for a fill to find out I got Acrylic nails with a gel overlay but paid for full gel nails. It maybe only $15 bucks but a scam is a scam, I understand their English isn't great but when you point to the menu and ask for that and PAY for that, you want to not be scammed, I won't be back, and I'm not shy in telling others the same thing. I also had purchased gift certificates for other family members, that won't be happening again either. I'd think anyone wanting to go there had best rethink, an extra $15 off of a handful of people makes for a VERY profitable week and how many of their clients don't know this happened and is happening to each time. read more
