I found the store welcoming and pleasant. It is one of the cleanest, prettiest, and well ordered grocery store I've entered. It is not as big as some of their competition, but what they do is done very well. I was offered help by more than one employee. They were friendly and helpful. Sprouts is known for offering more organic foods, allergen-free, gluten-free, and vegan options than other places. I have a family member that cannot eat gluten, so I was pleased to find her a gluten-free Dutch apple pie and some brownies she can eat for Thanksgiving. I don't have dietary restrictions- and found some delicious cookies for me, and scones for my wife. Sprouts has the most beautiful produce department I've seen. Everything looked super fresh. Their meat department offered cuts of meat, poultry, salmon and more... and they even had pre seasoned, grill-ready meats. The deli had some amazing food options, and fresh sandwiches made to order. Like most supermarkets, they have flour and the rest for baking, cereals, canned goods, etc. But what was unique is the selection, brands, the variety, and the healthy options. Their Spouts coffee section smelled heavenly. They have a good variety of coffee, both whole bean (which you can have ground right there) or already ground and packaged. Sprouts even has over-the-counter meds, hygiene and personal care products, and a small selection of floral bouquets. Another feature you don't see in most other places are bulk nuts, seeds, granolas, snacks, candies, dried fruit, and cereals sold by the pound. The prices run a tad higher than at other places, but what you get is quality and healthy options along with "designer" food brands and products. Take your own reusable bags, or be prepared to purchase reusable bags (cloth or plastic). You may still need to stop at another store to get everything on your list, but I can say the same thing about their larger competitors. It really is worth checking them out.

They've grown up and moved out since then... they need to see this expanded and improved version! On my first walk-through, a gentleman from the corporate office was present and greeted me, asking me how I liked it. I told him I was just a little overwhelmed at all the new choices, variety, and abundance... I felt like someone from a third-world country who just arrived to America! He laughed and replied that is what they wanted to hear. Besides everything being new, shiny and clean, one of the things that impressed me was the huge amount and variety of pre-packaged, ready-to-cook foods. For those with little time, they offer tons of options to cut down on your meal-prep time. Produce: there are more options of produce, some fruits I've only seen in person before in South America. Everything looks fresh. Lots of pre-chopped or sliced foods too. Seafood: fresh Gulf shrimp, Maine lobster tails, plus all the usual... Choose from pre-packaged or go to the counter and select your own. Meats: H-E-B has always been great for meats, and they just took their offerings up a notch. I noticed now American Wagyu, prime cuts of beef as well as all the other items you'd expect. It would take a while to go through every department and comment: dairy, frozen goods (the H-E-B ice cream is as good as anything out there), bakery (don't get me started about their oatmeal, raisin and walnut cookies!), baking items, kitchen supplies, the deli section is amazing, cold cuts, sausage, fresh eggs, cheeses galore (including Latin American and European specialties), they have a wonderful floral shop, canned goods, dry goods, office essentials, their pharmacy was able to fill a prescription no one else in town could, and on and on... The employees at H-E-B are always friendly and efficient. When I had a large purchase someone always offered to help me load it into my car. They have small grocery carts for your kids to use! How fun is that? Of course, they offer curb side, and lots of services to where you don't even have to do much if you have their app. BTW, with the app you get more coupons and more savings. This is a large store, but not so much you get lost. I don't know about "bougie," but this place truly has brought a new level of excellence and class to Edinburg. Highly recommended.

Dirt cheap prescription medicines along the many pharmacies here. A wide array of cosmetic surgery, dentist, and optometrist clinics are available along the main strip, all at very affordable prices! Another great find are the many liquor stores here that offer very cheap bottles of your familiar liquor! All, up and down the main strip your going to find a wide array of merchants selling everything from authentic Mexican textiles, shoes, boots, Mexican candy stores, clothes, Mexican pottery, jewlery, souvenirs, curiosities, fine leather products such as purses, etc and so much MORE. Servises such as spas and cosmologist salons are a big thing here as well. Don't forget THE FOOD! You'll find many restaurants serving authentic Mexican food and seafood at a fraction of the price of what you would have paid for it right across the border! One of our favorite features of shopping in Nuevo Progresso is the many, many bars that are in every other store serving up delicious margaritas and your favorite beers and cocktails. It turns a fabulous international shopping spree into a FIESTA!
