Sprouts Farmers Market is located in a side shopping strip on the north side of the Lowe's Home Improvement store on North 10th in McAllen. This was my first time to go. I found the store welcoming and pleasant. It is one of the cleanest, prettiest, and well ordered grocery store I've entered. It is not as big as some of their competition, but what they do is done very well. I was offered help by more than one employee. They were friendly and helpful. Sprouts is known for offering more organic foods, allergen-free, gluten-free, and vegan options than other places. I have a family member that cannot eat gluten, so I was pleased to find her a gluten-free Dutch apple pie and some brownies she can eat for Thanksgiving. I don't have dietary restrictions- and found some delicious cookies for me, and scones for my wife. Sprouts has the most beautiful produce department I've seen. Everything looked super fresh. Their meat department offered cuts of meat, poultry, salmon and more... and they even had pre seasoned, grill-ready meats. The deli had some amazing food options, and fresh sandwiches made to order. Like most supermarkets, they have flour and the rest for baking, cereals, canned goods, etc. But what was unique is the selection, brands, the variety, and the healthy options. Their Spouts coffee section smelled heavenly. They have a good variety of coffee, both whole bean (which you can have ground right there) or already ground and packaged. Sprouts even has over-the-counter meds, hygiene and personal care products, and a small selection of floral bouquets. Another feature you don't see in most other places are bulk nuts, seeds, granolas, snacks, candies, dried fruit, and cereals sold by the pound. The prices run a tad higher than at other places, but what you get is quality and healthy options along with "designer" food brands and products. Take your own reusable bags, or be prepared to purchase reusable bags (cloth or plastic). You may still need to stop at another store to get everything on your list, but I can say the same thing about their larger competitors. It really is worth checking them out. read more

Sprouts, in McAllen is by far the best place to go shop for anything healthy, organic and nutritious. Aside from that just walking in you are greeted and treated like family. The best staff super friendly, efficient and respectful. I could go anywhere else but I won't change my Sprouts for nothing. I usually go to this location even though is 45 minutes away from my home because is the closest location. Yesterday I had a bad experience with service I drove there just to get a creamer that I like they only had one which is fine I understand it's a popular item and gets sold out quick. There was an associate organizing the dairy and I decided to ask him if they had more of the product on hand and he not even let me finish the question in a very rude tone of voice immediately answer No THAT IS ALL WE HAVE ON THE SHEILF!! I was ok thank you and i was waiting for a a customer to move so I can grab another item when I heard him asking the lady if she needed anything in particular or help with anything when I got there he not even bothered to acknowledge me seems to me like he was being racist. I was going to continue shopping but that incident make me want to leave I felt so uncomfortable props to the cashier that was smiling and being nice at all times. I don't think I'll be going back to that specific store again rather prefer to drink to Corpus Christi just to get better service. They get the 2 stars because the food is generally good and the selection is far superior to HEB. That's where it ends. We have shopped at Sprout's since it was located on 10th & Tamarack. We continue to go for the food selection, but the customer service here is awful. Unless Jorge is there...always a smile and very helpful! Maybe that's what makes the rest stand out? They avoid eye contact and I always feel like I'm bothering/interrupting them, especially the managers. Another experience of that today... the manager checked out a lady in front of us ( with a shrug and no eye contact), and then turned and walked off. No comment, no nothing. I've tried for years not to put this review, hoping every time that things would improve, but no. At the old Sprout's (Sun Harvest) you were greeted with a smile, the people were engaged with their customers and always helpful. Will continue going, but just know that the "Farmer's Market", they're your neighbors vibe, isn't here. read more

Came in the morning for a chocolate muffin, and on my way out I was surprised to see that Sprouts is selling Austin Eastciders Blood Orange Cider! I will have this sometimes at Grain to Glass, and it's nice to know that now I can enjoy it at home. Decent selection of balms here, too. Get my Lemon Balm here instead of ordering it off Amazon. The cashiers are bagging wet drinks much better, also. Employees at HEB are friendlier and as a customer, I appreciate this when I shop at HEB. I would have expected the same or better at Sprouts, but you're offered help or greeted maybe 1 out 5 times. read more

I shop at Sprouts weekly, as there are some products of higher quality available than at other local grocers. I appreciate the diverse selection of produce and specialty items but some seem unreasonably marked up. One of my favorite things about Sprouts is the bulk section. It's nice to get what you only need. Tip 1: download the Amazon app or something similar and scan items. You may be able to purchase them cheaper online. Tip 2: if you're vegan/vegetarian and purchase Gardein products, they are cheaper by $1 at HEB. Unless there is a sale, go to HEB. Bulk portobello mushrooms are cheaper and better quality here though. Tip 3: use the Sprouts app to stay in the know about the latest deals and sales. Tip 4: use reusable shopping bags. They give you a small discount for each bag you use. read more

It's like a kid in a candy store type of experience except for adults... well healthy adults. ;) I'm always super impressed by their fruit, veggie, and yogurt options to say the least. I was excited to find out there's a Sprouts Market down here. They have always been my favorite choice of market to go to for organic produce. Way cheaper than Whole Food. The food and vegetables are always fresh, and the staff is always friendly. A lot of times, you can find cheaper organic produce at Sprouts compares to everywhere else. Maybe I haven't looked at other places, but they seem to be the only market that sell organic wheatgrass, usually around $2/container, enough for 1 small shot. I just wish they were bigger, but in a way, it's a good thing that they're not as massive as Whole Food (I'm like a kid at Disney Land whenever I go to Whole Food, stayed amazed and lost in the Lala Land, a very, very dangerous place for me). They are straight to the point. Have enough of everything you're looking for. You go in for the things you need, and get out, not burning a big hole in the pocket every time is definitely a great thing! read more

Many items are overpriced, but that's to be expected in a specialty market. They have a fantastic selection of foods, but my favorite is Sprouts Seaweed Snacks! There was some recall with my fave flavor, Teryaki, but the Spicey is good. I like the large selection of non-dairy ice creams, too. Their bulk foods are good quality, and the produce is gorgeous. I haven't had another horrible clerk like one of my first visits, so that's good. read more

It's not about the brand, but the quality of food, by quality we mean healthy. When it comes to buying healthy groceries, I go to Sprouts on North 10th, right on the heart of McAllen. They have a variety of organic produce and the dairy products they have are soy, so its vegan and vegetarian friendly. Also, they have unique products in the Vitamins section from Mexico you won't find anywhere else in the Valley. The employees are very helpful, they pretty much ask you if you need assistance before you reach out to them. If the employee is not familiar with a product, don't worry, all the employees' work as a team and they all work together to make sure the customer gets what he/she needs. read more

Made comments about the "winter texan" (which I am not), and other vulgarities when asked about a specific product(s). They had no idea that I am fluent in Spanish and understood their rude remarks... Will never set foot into this store again!!! read more

Wow! I was amazed by how huge the new sprouts store is. Now we can all appreciate all the healthy options they have for us to buy lol. Everything use to be so cramped up together, you couldn't even decide what to buy because you would never find what you were looking for. But now that's not the case! There so much to choose from and everything is so organized, I want to buy a lot of food and vitamins! What really helps at this new store is how organized their vitamins section is. They use to be against the wall and I always had to ask for help. But now, everything is labeled but I'm glad the help is still there. (3 ladies were in that section to help out customers!) All the aisles are very clean and organized. The team remains as helpful as always!! Now I have to make sure I don't go grocery shopping at sprouts when I'm hungry cause I might be tempted to buy more food than what I need lol read more

I am very disappointed with this market. This is the 2nd time their wine is rotten. The first time I called to inform them, I got an low performer "manager" who was a fixed mindset individual. Terrible customer service and now I am experiencing the product again. This is unacceptable. This is absolutely an opportunity for management to order just 'enough' inventory for their visitors. If this store were a decent size, meaning much bigger like any other sprouts in Texas, I would shop here exclusively. There is no other store where I can find my food based vitamins, herbal teas, essential oils and organic snacks. I find the store to have a pleasant atmosphere. In the RGV, it's a breath of fresh air. However, let me reiterate; it is so, so small! I have no doubt that it is safe and manageable, but for quick shopping trips it gets crowded very quickly and becomes difficult to navigate even without a shopping cart in tow. If there were more space, there would be more room for healthy, sustainable food and products. Come on, McAllen. We need a store like this that can comfortably fit more than 20 people. read more

This store leaves much to be desired considering it's a "health foods store" and the Valley's only health foods store. However, they are willing to order products for you, but consider yourself lucky if they actually call you back to let you know when your product is in. The produce isn't that great either, but they've got a variety of organic produce which is nice. Their organic yogurt and cheese selection is terrble, but I just don't think there's a large market for organics in the Valley. Oh, you also have to check the best by date on EVERYTHING. I kid you not, I've had to return to the store at least 5 different times to return items that were expired. Ridiculous!! read more

This store meets all my expectations. They have a wide variety of foods and supplements. This market has made going vegan very easy. I don't ever have a hard time finding what I need. It smells odd and gross inside but you get used to it. They have some great sales on produce every week. I guess on Wednesdays you can get the sale prices for the current week's ad and the week before's as well. I never seem to go on that day, though so I don't have experience with it. Pretty small store but it does have some amazing things I can't find anywhere else in my hometown. Always stop here when I'm in the area for some delicious organic snacks. I appreciate the barrel options since I am a fan of personalized quantities. I hate buying a big package of something I'm only going to use a little of. Barrel options allow me to only get what I need without wasting food. Prices are pretty reasonable and I will continue to shop here :) read more

This isn't nearly as large as other Sun Harvest stores I've shopped, but it's better than nothing. They have a fair selection of fresh produce & some dairy items (keffir, goat yogurt) you can't find elsewhere. I love this place. I mostly go for the health and beauty products. They have a huge selection of cruelty free, natural skin care as well as essential oil, plus a whole bunch of other stuff like hair products, makeup, supplements, toothpaste etc. I also like the grocery section that has natural/organic alternatives that you don't see at regular grocery stores. read more
