I tried the castella cake from the Korean bakery inside the store and while it looked delicious and felt soft it was so dry when you actually eat it. I was expecting a moist fluffy cake but it was so dry. I don't recommend it. I also bought the fried curry pastry with potatoes, green onion and sausage. The sausage was actually cut up hot dogs. The pastry was fresh and crispy but very greasy. The filling tasted okay but not like any asian (Viet, Indian, Mayalsian, Thai) or west Indian curries I've had. It only had a hint of curry flavor. I wouldn't really recommend this item either. The store itself is interesting but catered more towards Koreans which is fine. It didn't have much variety in the snack aisles. I had never visited an H-Mart before and went to this one as it was nearby my Doctor appointment so really be luck. I usually go to the Pacific Ocean Marketplace for my Asian shopping. The place is really clean with so many different choices of high grade sushi and just an enormous quantity of everything seafood. Really a delight for the senses just to browse around and check it out. Also the prepared food section is amazing and you should visit the store just to check this section out. So glad there is this Hmart by us! We usually go to the one in Aurora as that is what we lived closer by but with moving, we needed a new korean market! This Hmart is very similar to the Hmart in Aurora when it comes to contents of what they sell. We were able to get everything we normally need which is great that it's consistent. One downside of this place and the reason why I give it 4 starts instead of 5 is that it's very small compared to the Aurora location. With how much smaller it is and the amount of items they carry, it makes it a crammed shopping experience on busy days. I would say not to go on the weekend unless you want to wait in long lines otherwise overall was a great experience. read more

I have never been to an Asian market with such awesome stuff! I am white and new to trying my hand at cooking Asian food, but this place has everything I need and the produce/meat are super fresh. I am also super into the snacks aisle because they have all kinds of snacks from Chinese to Korean to Japanese to Thai to Vietnamese! It's fun to find new stuff you wouldn't see at an American grocery. I think H-mart is a Korean company so they tend to have the biggest selection of traditional Korean stuff but the variety is good. I also recently discovered that I love flavored soju and this grocery store has a mini liquor store built-in with great prices on the Asian beer/wine. The soju selection is awesome! In short this place is great and I do a lot of shopping here for traditional Asian stuff and produce. read more

My children and I were followed around the store. This is a first being followed in a Korean store. It bothered me more than I thought it would. At first, I just figured the lady was doing her job making sure things were tidy. 15 min later it was clear I was being followed, she wasn't even being sneaky about, which made it extremely uncomfortable. I was there to put together cute lunch kits for my children. At the end of finishing up my shopping the lady was standing right next to my child. That's when I had enough! I asked, if she was following us. She said, "no, I'm here to answer any questions". Really? I pointed to were I first noticed the following. No telling when she exactly started. Instead of showing how angry I was, I decided to not spend my money there. I had to teach my children not to accept and call-out that type of treatment. I doubt, I would have confronted the lady if they weren't with me. I admit it was a struggle within myself because I know not spending money there isn't going to change anything, and I REALLY wanted the cute utensils for their lunch boxes. Side note: My children didn't understand what was happening and why. My mom is Korean, so they didn't know Korean people could be prejudiced too. The youngest asked, why people hate brown people so much. My response, people hate out of ignorance and just simply having an evil spirit within themselves. read more

This is my favorite Asian grocery...though they really offer a variety of other international foods as well. I try to make a trip here at least once a month. Today I indulged myself with a sweet bun from their in house bakery. It was filled with peaches, cherries and cream. Yummy!! They offer samples throughout the store (maybe only on weekends) which resulted in my buying frozen dumplings and a fresh persimmon. Their produce department is loaded with the basics and then all kinds of "exotics"...to me anyway. Since my last visit, they have started to label everything in English as well as Chinese...very helpful. I love their bags of baby bok choy. I use it in chicken soup and stir fries. There is a fresh fish counter which will clean & slice the fish in your choice of 4 ways. The meat selection is great with a wide variety of cuts. They have the very thinly sliced beef for hot pot. Today I bought frozen ox tails to make soup. I always buy backstock of the canned goods to add to a quick stir fry. They've got it all. And prepare yourself for an entire aisle of soy sauces... wow. H-mart itself is great but I find myself being annoyed with a handful of the patrons that frequent that place because of rude grocery store etiquette. For instance, there are always certain customers that love to leave carts in the middle of aisles, push through or around you, or cut in front of you in line. H-mart offers a ton of Japanese and Korean foods like Korean BBQ, seafood and sushi supplies. They also sell household stuff like blankets and chopsticks (really nice ones for cheap!). I got a fly swatter, Asian broom & a bathtub drain sieve for my house when I first moved to the area (all essentials IMO). They have a great assortment of Korean fish red bean ice creams. They have flavors of the Korean ice cream that I haven't seen elsewhere in any other Asian market (including the Korean markets I've been to in the bay area). This place is huge and is often busy but the private lot is huge so you wont have trouble finding a parking spot. read more

While I agree that this is not of the caliber of the Super H-Marts I shopped at in Virginia - it is a real oasis here. I went on a Sunday when there were samples being given out and cooking demos galore. I bought some great daikon kimchi, radish water (my favorite beverage), sushi, marinated bean sprouts and more. The Vietnamese aisle wasn't bad. The soy aisle was great as were the fresh veggies and the frozen choices. I miss having a robust Indian area, but you can't have everything! read more

This is the worst H Mart I have been to in the US (from 15). They are privately owned, so not a part of the chain itself and it shows. They only have a few items that are found in the main stores, the organization is atrocious, and this is the SADDEST selection of kimchi/ banchan/ meat/ seafood (YUK store made). Don't even get me started on the in store 'food court'... not even a Tous Les Jour, just some cheap (quality not price) macaroons and sh!tty bakery. I'm obsessed with H-mart. Having recently started experimenting in Asian cooking, it's awesome to find a market that has every ingredient you could need and then some. We love the produce, meat and everything in between. They carry a ton of funky ramen, snacks, cookies and candy that you'll never see in a regular grocery store. If you're in H-Mart you HAVE to try out Two Sticks Cafe- it doesn't look like much but that food is fresh and delicious. read more

I love this place! The store is big, clean and the staff friendly. They also have a small bakery (unfortunately, they don't sell bread, just pastries and danish, they even have macarons). The is a small restaurant, fun for a quick lunch before shopping. I especially like to buy their produce that is fresh and much cheaper than at regular supermarkets (they have a great selection of veggies you can't find elsewhere) and fresh herbs. It's also a great place to buy thinly sliced meat and sushi grade tuna, Since their sushi grade tuna is priced very reasonably, I actually buy it and just sear it for dinner. And of course you can find a lot of other Asian products: kimchi, noodles, nori etc. H-Mart makes grocery shopping quite fun, I get to bring home something exotic and different each time. read more

My hubby is sooo lucky he lives from a pleasurable distant of H- Mart-- a much bigger one than the Parker Rd. location!! Their bakery crew is a lot more kinder and more accommodating than my last experiences. They also carry Red Bean doughnuts, which I'm very jealous of, considering how amazing they are. My location up close does not have that, so I'm envious for sure. I always love their pizza bread. (Don't judge me) and the service is overall more crystal than the original location. It must be said that H-Mart -- which markets itself as an international market -- is primarily Asian. That's not a bad thing at all, but they didn't have the Brazilian spices we were hoping for. There was one aisle of Hispanic, primarily Mexican goods. I suspect the major emphasis is indeed the Asian market. The one thing confusing and annoying was the bakery is completely separate but nothing posts that anywhere that I saw. So you have to pay in two separate lines. And the bakery doesn't accept credit cards. As a supermarket, it's below Safeway or Whole Foods by a long shot. read more

Covid warning!!! This is a place with the worst management. Shopping here is dangerous. When you walk in you can see a posted sign that masks are required to enter. Some shoppers can freely enter the store even without a mask on, but there is no one checking them. But immediately I learned the reason. Quite a few workers are not wearing masks or having masks on but with nose exposed. Wonder where store manager is... I recall that this store was warned in the year 2020 for Covid outbreak by workers, but it appears that the danger still lingers. read more

This place is great! It's spacious and has everything you could ever want to buy out of an asian market, including things like tea cups and furniture! I am a huge Asian food person, so I bought some Veggie Wontons, Green onion pancakes, and some sauces. LOVE Green onion pancakes, and the wontons were pretty great too. Give it a try! read more

This place is amazing! The variety of foods, the freshness of the fish and other meats, I mean you can get a LIVE fish! I wish I could have taken pictures, but there's a sign on the door that says no photography. The little liquor store inside is wonderful, and the suggestions I've gotten from staff have been spot on. My only issue is that there haven't been many that speak a lot of English to ask them questions and get more than a "follow" answer as they point at things. read more

Can't go wrong for all things Korean here. This is a national chain and we have them all over California. There are HUGE locations and mid-sized locations all over where I'm from. They are well respected in the Korean community as well for being clean and having fresh produce -the ones near me have great sales on the weekends. Great selection of meats and instant ramens as well as KIMCHI, Korea's national food. Come here for inexpensive fresh produce, like your veggies and fruits. Also come here to buy delicious meats for KBBQ. They carry both marinated and non-marinated, spicy or not. All of it in my opinion is authentic and delicious. Things to try: 1) Kimchi - try it cold or even cooked with some pork. There are several types of kimchi, try the OG made from cabbage and work your way through them all. Healthy and delicious. 2) Korean snacks - they are all subtle in flavor and pack a really nice crunch or light and crispy. Meaning they are not extremely salty or sweet but rather subtle and addictive -you've been warned :) 3) The Meats - There's a reason that KBBQ is all the rage. Try it, you wont be disappointed. Kalbi -marinated short rib. Spicy pork or chicken. Bul-gogi -marinated, thinly sliced rib eye. Cook all of it just as you may any other meat and devour with rice and kimchi. 4) The alcohol - Hite, Cass both great lighter amber beers. Soju, whatever's on sale...they really are all the same. 5) The pre-made ban-chans. A Korean meal consists of plenty of little side dishes along with the main course and it's eaten family style. I noticed a 'wear mask' sign on the door and I was surprised to see an employee not wearing a mask. I wish the management would train their employees to keep the distance from the customers. I went specifically to buy a Japanese soy sauce that I had purchased in the (far from my house) Aurora H-Mart. They did mot have it. The selection of Japanese soy sauces was pathetic (as in zero, as far as I could tell). Customer service was not friendly nor very helpful. Not happy. I abandoned my cart and walked out. read more

Probably the nicest, cleanest, and most organized Asian market I've ever been to, and that's saying a lot coming from me. They were even offering free samples one day when I was there. Plus, their in-store café is very good, and very reasonably price. And as if all that isn't enough, they also have deli food for when you're too tired or busy to cook for yourself. Love it! Never crowded and always clean! You can probably find anything in this place. Items range from common things like soy sauce to not-so-common things like century eggs (not common to me at least...). You can also find popular items like mochi and boba here. It's fun to come walk around and browse, surely you will not walk out empty-handed. Inside there is a bakery, cafe, tea shop, smoothie shop, and liquor shop (there's also furniture and other home goods if you're interested). Most items are rationally priced. The sushi was amazingly cheap, there were like 15 pieces in one pack for $5!! Customer service wasn't bad either. Honestly nothing to complain about. When we needed assistance we were helped out. There's a review in here saying that that the staff is mostly non-english speaking. That is patently false. I have been to this location since its grand opening and have yet to have an experience with not being able to find help from an english speaking employee. As for the store itself, it's still in its growing stages. You can tell they are still trying to find their stride in this area of Westminster. At their Aurora location, the selection is much larger and more diverse because its a flagship store. This location is much more streamlined. I used to frequent Pacific Ocean Market but after a few run-ins with expired foods and moldy "fresh" items, I now go solely to HMart. Their quality control seems to be a lot better. read more

The store itself is pretty big and has a good selection of meats, produce and can food. It is a little pricer here since most things have to be imported.
