This was my first year shopping for Mardi Gras clothes (SEO: Mardi Gras outfits, Mardi Gras…read moreapparel, Mardi Gras polos) as an adult. I didn't know where to start, but I had a lead: my coworker wore the cutest Mardi Gras polo dress to work and I needed to know where she got it. "At one of those Mardi Gras apparel warehouses. It was $19.99 because they have so much stuff." I didn't get the name of which one, but I set out on a search with my mom for a place selling the dresses at $20, away from the conventional Mardi Gras parade routes (to avoid traffic). I unsuccessfully tried a Mardi Gras clothing shop in Oakwood mall and some beauty supply stores selling Mardi Gras apparel, but the markup was more than I intended to spend i.e. they weren't selling Mardi Gras polo dresses at or around $20 bucks. After a day of searching, the next day I refined my search and googled Mardi Gras clothing warehouse and this place popped up with great reviews. So we set our sails towards Mardi Gras Apparel. Immediately, we noticed that the outside selection of merchandise and prices were much better than any place we'd already shopped. There were lots of people shopping, which also felt like a sign of great inventory. We stepped inside and were really jazzed about the extensive selection. There were lots of $20 Mardi Gras polo dresses (if you bought in bulk) and some Mardi Gras dresses that were so cute and rare, that I didn't mind paying more. We thought we'd be shopping all day again, but once we got here, we knew we'd be one-stop shopping. Sweet! So we filled our arms with everything we wanted to try on. We were pleasantly surprised to learn that they had fitting rooms and waited patiently for one. We read the signs on the wall, in case there was anything to know before heading inside one of the two rooms. Nope, just advertisements about the discounts you get when bulk purchasing. Noted! After a few minutes of waiting one opened up, we waited for an employee to enforce their fitting rooms rules, no one emerged, and we got to work trying on. Moments later the fitting room next to us and ours are getting knocked on at least every 60 seconds with ladies yelling, "Hurry up please!" My mom and I come out and there is a swarm of at least 5 employees telling us, "Only 2 pieces are allowed per fitting room!" and "Only 1 person is allowed inside!" I calmly let them know that we looked for employees and signage while waiting and before entering and we didn't see anything. I continued shopping for better fitting sizes of some of the stuff I'd tried, but at least one of the ladies was following me around the packed store. I asked her if she was trying to help me with anything and she said, "no." I was bummed by the harassment so I decided to stop shopping and gave up on looking for different sizes. I stuck with what I had and made one more trip to the fitting room. This time, an employee was attending the fitting rooms and calmly let my mom and I know that only 2 pieces are allowed per person, only 1 person per room. I politely followed the rules and when I was done trying on, she was very sweet explaining the room policy. I have no problems with fitting room policies, I managed retail for years, but a failure to post the rules or have people around to enforce them makes the policy feel arbitrary. No one wants to be rushed or targeted when they are there to patronize a business. We made our way to the cashier counter where the lady checking us out was kind. She explained the difference between the outside and inside discounts, encouraged us to pay on the same ticket to maximize our discounts, and made separate bags of my mom's items and my items. I left feeling better than I did at the trying on stage, but it was an important, albeit negative, part of the overall experience.

Staff was very helpful and nice. They truly care about customer services and made several…read morerecommendations
