The Frances Center Thrift Store is a new store off the beaten path on Terrell Road, and it seems to…read morebe located in a former guest house or office behind a house. They have an at-level sign for it off Jones Creek Road, but it is easy to miss. It is rather hard to see how this place operates, as it seems like a flea market with several different vendors but it is labeled as a thrift store. Regardless of how you classify it, it is worth checking out! It is one of the cleanest thrift stores I have seen, and it has a nice collection of goodies. Many thrift stores primarily just sell clothes with just a handful of other goodies, but this one sells plenty of toys, tapes, books, collectibles, and other things of that nature. Although it is smaller than most stores (including Purple Cow, located at the other end of Jones Creek Road), it is worth visiting, as I am sure you can find whatever you are looking for and then some. I do hope it survives and gets some good business. If you are someone wanting to get clothes at the store, you will probably be disappointed, as clothing selections are very skimpy, but they do a superb job with the inventory for other items. The shop is still full and has loads of merchandise but it's just not as unique as it once was. Once in a blue moon we find a present for someone here. That being said if you have not been in you should check them out. Just because I did not find something does not mean you won't. Just be prepared they can be pricey. I get the feeling a lot of these shops in St. Francisville now are cashing in on the tourists who come into the town and there for may not always offer the best deals. Some of my favorite things in this shop include the selection of Snaps for my snap jewelry, The childrens clothing area is great but very pricey - so watch for their sales. They also have a large selection of candles and candle holders. I usually go each trip home so I'll update if I have any changes.
