He first gave me an estimate for the bathroom to see if I like his pricing. One would do that because his pricing is going to be sky high, which it was. But what pissed me off is that after I replied to the estimate I did not hear from him. I called him about 3 times. Maybe he didn't like that I said I wanted to leave out some finishing items that I had already bought, like the in-wall toilet kit, the skylight and the vanity. Regardless, it's only decent to return the call and see if we can come to an agreement. I just don't understand this kind of behavior. I'm assuming there's plenty of people with money that grows on trees in this area who just pay, no questions asked. I'm very disappointed as I was really hoping he could help me. He was recommended to me by a friend of a friend who actually saw his work.

I was referred to Palacios and Sons by a neighbor and I had a really good working relationship with the entire group. I wanted to have my home feel like everything, new and old, meshed and belonged together. I got a seamless and amazing kitchen and re-textured walls, giving a revitalized fresh face to my home. I communicated with Aaron and Gus most of the time. Aaron was extremely responsive, especially in this time and age where text and email are everything. I did not feel ignored or left in the dark. He took the time to push the schedule, explain some processes and even suggest some items I knew I had to move forward with yet was hesitant to move forward with. Gus has the best attitude, even when my husband and I made a mistake on a wall that had just been re-textured. We made a mess and was really nice about our FUBAR. I had unknown expectations on price and time and the group at Palacios and Sons were patient and friendly all through the quoting process (they were nice on the walk-through) all the way through to the moment of construction "wide eyes" as my kitchen was removed. I intially called Cruz construction to get an estimate for replacing my floors and updating my…read moreshower. I received a call back within in a few hours and Sabas made an appointment with me at my convenience. Sabas was on time, curtious, and really listened to what I wanted. I had been wanting to add on to my bedroom and had met with other contractors but the quotes I recevied were way out of my budget. I mentioned to Sabas I wanted to add on to my bedroom and asked him what he thought it would cost. He gave me a verbal estimate and it was so reasonable so I asked him to give me a written estimate for the shower, floors, and the addition. When I received the written estimate it was very detailed of what was included and in the same price range he verbally provided. I made the decision to move forward and he connected me with a archetect/designer to draw my plans for the addition. The process with both the designer and Cruz Construction was seamless and communication was so easy. As I worked with Sabas and his company over time I added the painting of my cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom, replacing the hardware on the cabinets, replacing a window, and re roofing my home. His employees were kind, hardworking, and reliable. They cleaned up after themselves, were quiet, and did superior work. I have worked with many contractors throughout the years. I have build 2 homes and completely remodeled another. This contractor was far by the best! Due to the amount of work I had done this company worked in my house on and off for almost a year. Sabas was always took my calls and responded to any texts or emails the sameday. He was helpful in picking colors and brought samples to me. Any issues that came up he handled immediately. He has a very calm demeaner, is very patient, and really listens. He has direct employees to do all the work and does not use sub contractors which made the projects go so much smoother and timely. Several of his employees are relatives which was nice as they too were kind, patient, and hardworking. The pride all his employees take in their work really showed. I never worried about leaving my home and them being in it without me present. They were trustworthy, clean, and respectful of my property. I am so happy with the work that was done and how my projects turned out! If you are even thinking of needing a contractor don't hesitate to call Cruz Construction you will not be disappointmented. Where do I begin? I have been thinking about having my…read moreBathroom Remodel for quite a few years, but never wanted to pull the trigger because as we all know, at least in my experience, the most difficult aspect of any project is choosing who you will be working closely with. One day as I was in my AQUA CLASS, a fellow swimmer was also in the middle of a Bathroom Remodel. I asked who she had contacted to begin her project..........it was SD Construction !! As she raved about the service that had been provided, it took me less than a few seconds to pick up the phone and made that call. For me, I felt as though that was more than 50% of the project already completed just by making that decision. Now onto my overall review. Over the last 30 years in my home, I have subcontracted various projects throughout the years myself. I learned what was reasonable expectations and what was not! From the first phone call to Sammy, which ,by the way, was returned in two days, to the final day on a Sunday, every one of my expectations went above and beyond what I had previously experienced throughout the years. From Sammy sr, the owner, to the project manager, Sammy Junior, and every specialty aspect of a CONSTRUCTION project, plumbing electrical, Tile setting, it was similar to watching a well orchestrated dance. From demolition to completion, It was approximately a three week. Period. I would like to give a shout out individually as well. James R. Is an amazing Tile setter. He was perfectionistic, creative always punctual, and went above and beyond my expectations. James B. Who was my plumber for this project, was equally amazing. Always arrived on each specified day and time as scheduled. he had to demonstrate a certain amount of patience due to the fact that I had decided to custom order all copper trim for my bathroom. Needless to say, I had no idea the length of leadtime in receiving the end product. James B was here the next day to install all trim. Both the owner as well as the project manager were constantly in contact with me with updates as the project progressed. I have learned over the years 2 of the most stress provoking issues with any home project is lack of communication and commitment to remain on task. If there was greater score than AA++........it would be posted for this company. Communication and commitment was demonstrated throughout. OK, a sidenote about myself. I am not easily satisfied with less than a perfect outcome. Everyone on this project gets a definite additional score just for walking the journey with me personally. There's some things to be said about family owned businesses versus the huge corporations that we are bombarded with. Having professionally worked as an RN in a huge conglomerate where people became very insignificant. It was a breath of fresh air, to be heard as well as supported, working with this company!! Now to the best part of this review, I will add some pictures and proudly show what a great job this company did. Thank you, SD CONSTRUCTION.
