What is really good however is the onsite pharmacist. I recently burnt myself whilst cooking, and whilst quite nasty it didn't seem serious enough to make a trip to casualty. Having Lloyds so close at hand was an absolute godsend, the pharmacist was able to examine my hand and give it the correct dressing. She was also very good at advising me how to correctly care for the burn, and what to look out for. If you're a Whitchurch local and have a mild injury or problem that you need advice on I think it's definitely worth making a trip to this pharmacy, if only just to be reassured.

I used to remember when Lloyds Pharmacies were really cheap, but now they are firmly established they seem to have hiked the price somewhat! This is true of all of their stores, but thankfully this one seems to be a lot more down to earth! This branch is pretty large and carries a really good selection of home first aid items and non-prescription drugs as well as a good range of low end to medium range toiletries. They are, of course, a dispensing chemist, (as are all of their branches), and the staff are friendlier than at most of the other outlets I've visited.

The pharmacist is very helpful and can answer questions about the medication or general confusion about health. They usually fill the prescriptions pretty quickly, have a couple of seats if you're not feeling up to standing, or you can come back later. There is also a service where they will collect prescriptions from the doctor. The usual range of medicines and a very small range of makeup, hair thingys and toothpaste. Even a few gift products and cards. Watch out though, they close at lunchtime on Saturday.

For example, there are lots of attractive scarves for sale and plenty of inexpensive jewellery and small gifts. I particularly liked the colourful range of cosmetic and sponge bags - and also the big decorative paper flowers which I assume are to be hung on the wall!
