One of the very best garden experiences in the Bay Area. Gorgeous, peaceful, huge variety of flora,…read moreand beautiful photo ops. There is a section of the garden where they grow all the flowers for the bouquets inside the house. There are trails over to the redwoods, a wedding area, souvenir shop, small cafe, and even a pool. The house is spectacular and the self guided tour is interesting and informative. Pro tip: Bring a pretty colorful umbrella- it can get very warm and it adds to your photos! Parking is a bit of a walk from the gardens so if someone in your group needs assistance walking, bring some sort of seat for them to take rests. Restrooms are available, but limited number of stalls. Be prepared for a wait.

I came a few times by myself to find inspiration. The best times are weekday mornings. And Sunday I always forget they close the road for the bicyclists coming from the North/92. I would also recommend stopping by the water temple on a weekday. The only reason I knew about it was because it is featured on the mural in Trader Joe's on Hillsdale. If you want to do picnicing, there are picnic tables outside. They want you to purchase food from their venues...but the venues on the grounds aren't amazing, but maybe that's so people don't litter. The cafe has some interesting options, like $15 cake slices...I always wonder if they're made in-house. It's not advertised though, so who knows. Filoli also has a volunteer program so if you want to have an active experience at Filoli, you can help with the weeding. I like that they feature local artists - I recognized some items from an Etsy artist local to the Bay Area, whom I have purchased from before, because they focus on local California wildlife. Cons: Sometimes people clog up the walkways with their picture-taking as in there are people waiting to cross...and they continue to take pictures for five more minutes...It's just bad etiquette. Are you milking it so you can feel important? Gag. Or they play loud music to harass the birds and other people. People aren't paying money to listen to your music. They don't want your music. Get a job and buy earbuds. Some people also don't really care if their kids do stupid things...like ruin the decorations so everyone can stare at their kids' handiwork all season long - like poking holes in the macron cake tower. Thanks for that. Or sometimes, there is a sign to keep to the path...so you know...people walk anywhere BUT the path. I'm not sure if they can't read or if they're just so entitled. But yeah, they stomp all over the ground so the plants die...and they're cool with it, because they got their stupid photo. Or maybe on the trail...if there are people coming up behind you, just like in golf, let them through. It's OK to stand to the side and let others pass. THAT'S the proper etiquette. Otherwise, I'm just thinking, they must really want me to listen to their conversation or something. They want to look like they have friends? No one else in the world is more important, so they must be first? If you want to meander in the forest at 0.25 mph, that's fine, but you don't need to have me behind you for the entire mile. And no, I'm not talking about the lady with the hip problem or the mom with the stroller, I'm talking about the 20-something-year olds who wore platforms on a forest date with me as a third wheel. But most of the time, people are respectful and polite. I like that people come and just hang out and enjoy the private park.

We ordered extra inspections, shifted requirements more than once, and after closing needed plenty of help with contractors. Adam and Colton (and their other staff) were knowledgeable, hardworking and responsive throughout. Perhaps more important, they were truly looking out for our interests. On a couple occasions they were willing to walk away from placing offers on properties that would not have been a good match even after they had put in significant work on researching those properties. Ultimately, we were able to buy a property at a price we considered something of a bay area value when Adam played our cards just right with a motivated seller in an iffy market.

Listing manager, Alex Polishuk, took the lead on getting the house ready for market -- coordinating everything from small updates to a remodel that officially added a bedroom to the county and city records. The team combined expert market insight with genuine care, and their systems -- paired with a very personal touch -- streamlined all the administrative work that comes with selling a home. They were truly a full-service firm that made the process smooth, efficient, and surprisingly enjoyable. Through it all, Adam and Alex earned my complete trust with their professionalism, integrity, and commitment to getting every detail right.

Jeff's incredible pictures speak for themselves, so I'll do my best to cover what it was like working with Jeff below: Initial Meeting * Jeff was easy to coordinate with and responded very promptly to all emails setting up a meeting * He brought his portfolio, walked us through his packages, and helped us create a package that was exactly what we wanted * He was funny, nice, and someone we immediately clicked with. My sister's piece of wedding advice to me was to pick a photographer and videographer you will enjoy spending the day with, because much of your wedding day is actually spent with these vendors! Engagement Photos * Jeff pre-scouted the area that we wanted to do our engagement photos at, so he knew exactly where we should stand to get the best lighting and angles. Because of this, we saved so much time and were able to get in more locations. * Jeff was thoughtful, creative, and encouraging through the entire process. While we might have been awkward in the first few shots, Jeff quickly put us at ease. * The pictures turned out amazing. We even used one of them for our cake topper! Wedding * Jeff did an amazing job setting up for and capturing the wedding. Memorial church has a lot of restrictions, and Jeff was able to work within all of them to capture every detail of the ceremony. * The quality of the photos is great--lighting, resolution, etc. * Jeff always went the extra mile, whether it was getting me some water when I was thirsty or helping me find people I was looking for. * After the wedding, Jeff was very quick in getting our photos to us, and in communicating about them! I should also note that Jeff has a really special network of people that he works with. We found our videographer and my makeup/hair artist through Jeff, and were very happy with both. I would highly recommend Jeff as a wedding photographer! Get him now before his prices go up!

Since he was not as familiar with the location we wanted to have our photos taken (The SF Botanical Garden has a special place in my and my fiance's hearts), he took the time to go scout out the area, send us photos of places he thought would work, but also took into account places that we told him we were thinking about. As a teacher, it's hard to take time off during the work week, but Jeff was so flexible and we were able to figure out a time that worked for all of us. I am so excited to have him shoot my wedding day as well!

His communication was clear and responsive, and he was very patient with me no matter how many emails it took! Staging the surprise was actually a lot simpler than I expected--they ask you for some basic information as to how you're planning to do it. On the day of, I was nervous if things were going to fall into place, but Annie, our photographer, shared her location with me and arrived early in just the spot I wanted. She was also wonderful to work with--her photography and editing skills are great and even though we never really posed for photos before, she made it easy for us. She even had the presence of mind to turn us away from family members who were coming from behind to surprise us. We received a few photos the night of the proposal to share with friends and then the rest of the photos after a quick turnaround. We were very happy with how they turned out and appreciative of Annie's great work!

They were the first vendor we booked after securing our venue, so we got to know them over the course of the year leading up to our wedding in August 2025. After coming across their photos when researching different potential photographers that had experience at our venue, we were very interested in meeting them. We had an initial video call with them and knew immediately that we wanted to book them for such a critical part of our wedding journey. There aren't enough words to describe how skilled and professional they are--they are amazing photographers (individually and as a duo) and clearly love what they do. Our proposal photoshoot was the only prior experience we had in terms of taking professional photos as a couple. We met them in person for the first time at our engagement photoshoot--they immediately made us feel comfortable and were seriously thoughtful about the entire process, whether it was the location choices, minute-by-minute weather changes/forecast, outfit changes, etc. It really feels like they plan for everything and care about the little details. When we asked them about another vendor they would potentially work with on the day of our wedding, they even referenced notes they made when they had worked with them for a prior wedding. Throughout the whole process, they were prompt communicators (frequently responding to an email within minutes!) and guided us with experience and patience that we really appreciated. Whenever we had something to discuss with them (including choices we needed to make as a couple), they never hesitated to give us suggestions and feedback. Even if they offered an alternative suggestion to an idea of ours, it always felt like they genuinely cared and they wanted what we wanted, and it never felt like criticism. We received our wedding photos just about 2 months after our wedding, and we love every single one of them (all 667)! They are truly the best photographers to work with and just lovely people to be around. We definitely plan to keep in touch with them for future photoshoots! :) TL;DR: You should have booked A Tale Ahead Photography yesterday!!

Graham (Final Frame) was the perfect fit! He is very professional and readily available for any questions, etc. He has a quicker turnaround for the video which is a bonus, and I really liked that his presence was very subtle (doesn't feel like you're on a movie set with a ton of bulky equipment). He edited a wonderful video (documentary edit), and I feel like I really get to relive the wedding day, and I love that I get to re-watch all the speeches/special moments of us with our friends and family. One of my favorite parts is that he will interview the guests (optional) and you get to hear and see family/friends video messages. It was awesome and really special. I'd highly recommend Graham! Graham is very responsive and easy to work with. The day of our June 2021 wedding, Graham showed up on time and got right to work. You hardly even know he's there, which is exactly what we wanted from a videographer. He films "documentary style" and gets all the parts of the day that are such a blur to the bride and groom. My favorite thing about his style is the interviews he does with the bride and groom separately and the interviews he does with guests. It's such a nice touch that makes watching the video even more special. Graham is so affordable given the INCREDIBLE work that he does. I can't believe some people don't get a videographer for their wedding as it was such a special experience to rewatch our day through the eyes of our guests. My sister used Graham a few years ago, and I will be recommending Graham to every future bride and groom. His work is stunning, he doesn't interfere or get in the way, and he adds special touches that make the video even more fun to watch. Thank you so much Graham!!
