Jack was responsive and fantastic to work with. He came by to look at our house to give us an estimate. He was not hurried, took time to listen and make suggestions. He was easy to schedule and responded to our texts and emails promptly. For the basement, we had him put up drywall, paint the entire room, patch holes in the ceiling left by our electricians while rewiring the house. For the updates, he framed the mirror above our mantle, added shelves to our dining room built ins, got us custom sized closet doors for our bedrooms plus installation, put up mirrors and curtains and the list goes on. Jack finished everything on time. He arrived bright and early everyday, stayed on schedule despite the small additions to the list of stuff we wanted to get done. He left the house perfectly clean and livable every evening. We plan to use him for any painting, carpentry or handyman work in the future. Its really hard to find someone trustworthy to do a perfect job , who is easy to communicate to, has a positive attitude, thoroughly professional and can handle a variety of tasks. This time, we needed a retaining wall built between my neighbor and us and a fence rebuilt on top of that. We also had them put in a flight of stairs on the same side yard and replace the gate at the bottom. As usual, the crew was awesome! They kept us informed the whole time so we knew what was going to happen each day, they showed up when they were suppose to, kicked all kinds of butt getting the huge project done (I mean it- they freaking worked in pouring rain!), and they worked with us regarding a payment schedule. We have hired Jared for two projects. The first was right after we bought our house in Georgetown…read morethree years ago. The inspector had found a few small things that needed fixing. Shingle siding had been broken on the corner of the house, and a small overhanging porch had been installed without flashing. We found Jared either through Angie's List or Craigslist. Jared came right over (on his bicycle) to look at it. Within a few days we had a bid. We hired him, and the work was done in one day. We were very pleased with the result. Fast forward to last fall, and we contacted Jared about two more small projects. Our upstairs bathroom had an exhaust fan, but we couldn't use it because whoever did the remodel never hooked it up to the outside. Also, above the stove was a built in microwave that we wanted removed and replaced with an actual vent hood that was also hooked up to the outside. Jared came over to look at the work and within a couple of days had emailed us his bid. Jared blocked out four days to do the work. While doing the work on the kitchen fan, he discovered that he would have to cut through a joist in order to get the vent through. This required some special thing to keep the ceiling from caving in that Jared could explain to you, but that I don't know and it isn't important to the narrative. The important thing is, Jared communicated with us immediately about the change and the added cost. We were very happy with the work Jared did on this job. He finished the work in 2 days. When I would come home at night, the work areas were always clean, to the point that, except for the obvious signs of work being done, you would be hard pressed to tell that workers had been in the house. We have a cat, and he was very respectful about being careful not to let him out of the house. The fans he installed look and work wonderfully. We would hire Jared again, and in fact, already have a front porch project lined up to call him about.

My schedule did not permit me to finish the taping, mud, skim coat, and primer so I hired them to complete the job for me. They came out Thursday, bright and early, and by the end of the day, my room was one night's drying-time away from paint! They were efficient, clean, professional, and affordable! I am incredibly impressed with the quality of the work done - especially given how quickly they were able to complete my project. The walls are perfect! I was told it would take two weeks and it was 17 days start to finish. The job was a challenge and the outcome is a very nice light texture. They buried a couple of lights and a switch but came out promptly to uncover them. As a critique the clean up should have been better. Otherwise very professional work worth the money.

Frank was hired to reframe part of my roof due to a large leak and replace a window. He placed…read morelarge plastic sheets over the interior and exterior areas so I could not see the area when they had remove the roof or window. He had placed 2x4 over layers of rotted wood. The roof area replaced had 5" of standing water (there was no slope). Nine months later we had our house re-sided and this the terrible workmanship we uncovered. The area around the entire window and roof was completely rotted and he did not say anything nor did he repair it. The photos say it all. Notice the large beam under the coping that was placed on rotted wood. Frank is unethical and his gross negligence surrounding this project is astounding.

He gave a good quote and quick schedule. Lots of businesses won't take on a small job but Frank's crew did. They were fast, on time, efficient, took pictures for my records throughout the process. And the cleanup was amazing down to cleaning up all the dust from inside building I highly recommend Frank and his crew for small and big jobs.

Scott Malatesta may be a competent woodworker, but he is not a trustworthy or responsible…read morebusinessman. I inherited a beautiful mid-century modern dining set with table, chairs, and buffet. He refinished the table and chairs a few years ago, and this year (2022) I asked him to refinish the buffet. I'm the third generation to enjoy this set, and I was hoping to leave it to my heirs--but it's not a set anymore! The buffet is MUCH darker than the table, and Scott has not taken responsibility. He has blamed the wood (they are made from the same wood) and bleaching from the sun (the table isn't in the sun), and his constant refrain is "I used the same stain." He should have noticed as he was working that the results were much darker than the original or at least that the exterior was much darker than the interior. Scott eventually said that he would have to strip it back down and redo it. I agreed and offered to send a table leaf for reference, but now he's not even responding to email. I'm afraid my next step is small claims court.

We had several electricians come out and give vague descriptions of potential causes, along with hefty bids that had us pretty nervous about the size and scope of the job. We were told we'd need a general contractor. We were told we'd need to remove the insulation from the attic. We were told the job would take at least two weeks. Enter Chris: he came on a Saturday, took a quick look and explained clearly and confidently what needed to be done. He gave a fair estimate at a fraction of the others. He didn't take advantage of the fact that as new homeowners we know little about electrical wiring and sought to educate us instead. We were thrilled when his schedule opened up much sooner than expected and he quickly and efficiently got to work on our house. In addition to rewiring almost every outlet in the house, he brought everything up to code whenever possible. He checked in with me every step of the way to make sure I understood and could give input as needed. He helped us create a more energy efficient home in the process, installing at our request: -Nest thermostat upstairs -LED lights and dimmers -Two electric wall heaters and new thermostat downstairs -New exhaust fans in both bathrooms -LED lighted mirror downstairs He also re-labeled our panel so we could actually understand it, put in a few new breaker boxes and fixed the weak connection on one of our main power lines. Throughout his time working at our place, Chris was conscientious, cleanly, organized and was even sweet to our neurotic dogs. He was collaborative and patient in answering my questions and offered his expertise to help me make decisions re: appliances. In spite of all the extra side projects we heaped on the re-wire, he still came in well under budget.
