Everytime I come to aberfeldy I make sure to go to The Habitat Cafe. It's dog friendly, has delicious food and lovely staff. Their wide selection of tea is amazing and is an adventure in itself. Well priced and nicely decorated, this family friendly cafe is a must. I highly recommend it. I had the feta, beetroot, walnut sandwich and tomato, chilli soup along with green tea. My family also enjoyed their meals. As a vegetarian I felt that there was a good amount of options. If you are in aberfeldy, you need to eat here. read more

I've been to Habitat Cafe a fair few times now but today's visit was the first since I started yelping (cue me snapping away at any opportunity!) Today was just mum and I, mother daughter bonding, taking a wee trip down memory lane as its Feldy (Aberfeldy to the rest of the world!) where I went for my 5/6th year at high school. Sadly Habitat wasn't open way back then, that's maybe a good thing mind you as I doubt I'd have made many classes if it was! Set in the main square, Habitat has a lovely warm, welcoming feel to it. Greeted straight away upon entrance we had the choice of a few tables but lucky for us, the leather sofa was free so we nabbed that! Menus arrived promptly and with lots of choice but I already knew what I wanted...a flat white (Australia you have a lot to answer for!) and the banana cake I'd spied on the way to our table! Mum opted for an Americano and a slice of pumpkin and caraway cake. The cakes arrived straight away and the coffees soon after (oh I should mention that they feature in the Scottish Independent Coffee Guide so you know the coffee will be gooood!). What can I say, the coffee was on the money! Strong and hit the spot! Both cakes tasted good, my only slight criticism is for the buttercream icing on top which would have benefited from an extra minute or two's beating but I'm being realllly picky here. Staff were all pleasant and chatty but importantly, I got the feeling they all loved their job! We even got comparing our favourite coffee hotspots in Glasgow, I say compare, but it was more of a mutual agreement lol. Lovely afternoon all in, and somewhere I make a point of visiting when I'm in the area. Oh and also worth mentioning is that on hotter days they have tables and chairs outside and they are in prime location for a spot of people watching! ;-) read more

We went to the farmers market in Aberfeldy and there was this cute coffee shop! We decided a latte was in good order. The cafe was super cute ! The staff were so friendly ! The food looked amazing so we decided we needed some cake ... And then a chocolate chip cookie... And then a fish finger sandwich... :) not in the order . But everything was delicious! They are experts in their coffees and do hand brewed coffee as well as lattes. They told us about their direct ethical coffee trade between the coffee farmers and their buyer! How they have single origin beans and have a batches mixed just for their shop. Very friendly , wonderful food and hand brewed coffee. Can't wait to go again and have a full meal! read more

Kind and helpful service. Very homey and comfortable inside. We could have wasted away our morning here but we had places to explore! Delicious tea in the most adorable teapots. I had to go home and purchase one because I loved it so much. :) My husband gave the coffee high marks as well. We ate breakfast here and thoroughly enjoyed it. Lots of options including gluten-free ones. Their GF bread was the best I had during my stay in Scotland. read more

I came across this lovely café whilst strolling through the town of Aberfeldy. It was very busy on a Saturday afternoon. I can guess that with little choice of coffee shops in Aberfeldy this is a very popular place filled with tourists and locals alike. I was especially drawn to the large windows letting in a lot of light and a seat at the window would have been ideal. Anyway, the place was so packed, we ended up in the back room on a huge table, which is ideal for bigger parties. Looking at the menu it was not an easy choice to make from all the lovely coffee and hot chocolate choices, however it's not the cheapest place to endulge. Their food choices are limited and definitely overpriced. I went for a cafe latte and scrambled eggs on toast. Paid £7 for it. There are definitely some sweet individual touches applied to the tables by offering water for free with bottles and glassed on each table and the tea comes served with an hour glass filled with sand that measures the time the teabag needs to remain in the cup for best results. Toilets are clean. The staff is very young and our waitress struggled with our questions and order. Not very professional. The café is located in the centre of Aberfeldy and public parking can be found just outside , if you get a space. Would I go back? Yes, I think so. Hmm maybe...... read more

This is a rare thing in the area. Sure there's coffee everywhere but you'll be hard pressed to find a café where the owner cares as much about the coffee as does the owner of Habitat. Just ask a few questions and you'll see what I mean. For instance, our cups were preheated before being placed on the table. Does your coffee shop give a choice of brew by filter, AeroPress, or Chemex? This one does. And if you don't have a preference Mike (the owner) can explain the differences. We're only here for a week but we'll be visiting Habitat often. read more

Very lovely place! We walked in for lunch after seeing it was rated nr 1 on TripAdvisor. The best thing about this place is the barista/owner's knowledge and passion for coffee. There are always a few different coffee's which you can get in a variety of brewing methods. Very interesting! My boyfriend had one of the hot chocolates, you could choose white/dark/extra dark etc, and it was almost like chocolate syrup so thick! Yum! The lunch we had was OK, for the price we paid I did expected something a little more amazing - the salad I had was a bit on the small side and didn't have a lot of different ingredients. My salad had to go back because they forgot about the blue cheese, I imagine it was a new person in the kitchen or something, no biggie. My partner had a sandwich, which was also on the pricey side but the quantity was a lot better. It's definitely the place to go for coffee and hot coco, but skip the salad! read more

I have been to the Habitat Cafe twice now. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is fantastic. In traveling Scotland we have found eating healthy to be a bit challenging, Habitat Cafe offers well sourced creative meals. I went in today to get some soup for my sick girlfriend, when the owner heard she was sick he bagged up some loose leaf tea and gave me a baguette to bring her. The decor and atmosphere are quite nice and the location is excellent. read more

Trust the Yelp reviews for this wonderful cafe, this place is great! Large windows let rays of light flood into this fab cafe. The walls are cream with pine tables and chairs. On each of the tables are bottles of water and glasses. Our waitress Becky was friendly and obviously enjoys working at Habitat. She explained about the different coffees they serve as well as the different teas. The loose tea comes in fab teapots with an egg timer so the tea is not over brewed. The green tea choice is fab. My El Salvador coffee was delicious and I could taste the chocolate and basmati rice flavours. I was so impressed with the tea pot design I treated myself to a pot and egg timer. I also purchased some green tea and breakfast blend. The tea is heat sealed in a pack for you to take away and enjoy. I savoured the big bacon butty that was filled with bacon, mushrooms and tomato, delicious. The homemade sausage roll was good too. The cafe is busy with a relaxed atmosphere that makes this place buzz with enjoyment of just being there let alone the fab tea and coffee enjoyment. The barista at the counter was great too, explaining about the teas that could be purchased and labelled up our purchases with how much tea to use, the water temperature and time to brew each pot for the perfect cuppa.
