I have donated and purchased Items over the years and I witnessed an event today that has changed my mind about donating anything to you or about purchasing anything from you. I saw a woman trying to buy a wheel chair in your malvern avenue store, hot springs; when she offered less than you had it marked, she was sternly told, "we don't haggle" and they pointed at the signs on the wall. It got me to thinking, your more interested in running a retail store than selling items that you got for free to someone who probably needed that wheelchair for themselves or someone they knew. I won't be supporting your greedy retail model anymore. You should rethink this take it or leave it policy. I bet your typical customer is on a fixed income or in need of a reduced retail price and you seem to be out of the caring business. Sent from my iPad read more

Went to the restore on airport road today. We go every few weeks and buy stuff for our new home. No one has had a problem with us being there. (This is important.) So we go in and I am, as usual, unmasked. You see I'm a heart and lung patient ON oxygen. I am obviously disabled. Today the staff is torn. They offer a mask. I politely turn them down and explain I am a heart and lung patient who can't wear a mask. (We have tested this with medical equipment. My oxygen levels drop bc I have damage to my lungs and can't take deep breaths. Basically I can't exhale hard enough to get the co2 out of the mask and oxygen in from the other side of the mask. Heck...I can't get enough oxygen without a mask on lol.) The manager comes out and says it's not discrimination bc everyone has to do the same thing. She gives the director's number over. He says it's not discrimination bc I can shop on eBay for a few of their better items they put online. It's for "my" safety he said. I'm 38 and have lived with my health issues a long time. My doctors and I (I have 5 specialists for different things) have discussed this in length. We have decided the risks of the masks or face shields is more dangerous than not wearing anything bc I am highly susceptible to bacterial infections...long story. The director's explanation of the ADA and accommodations is that he doesn't have to make extreme accommodations. (A heart and lung patient asking to not wear a mask is extreme????) Now don't think I was crazy. Our convo lasted less than 5 min. I believe a company can make their rules (barring discrimination) and I have a choice to shop there or not. My husband and I made a choice to not continue shopping with this company. I have contacted corporate and placed this review. I'm so sad that they have taken the stance against people like me. But such is life. It's not the first or last time someone will tell me they know what's best for me when they don't know me. read more

I would leave 0 stars if I could. I have been shopping at this store regularly for 5 years. Today, we were approached by the manager and advised the cashier THOUGHT we were stealing. This place has moved to Malvern Avenue in a larger location with more inventory unfortunately the prices that they are charging for many items is actually comprable to what you could get many of these things new. I do not understand what makes them think they can get away with these prices? read more

I personally have found several screaming good deals at this location. I regularly donate no longer needed items here as well. I have also been up against the 'no haggling' policy as well. It's their policy like it or not. The other reviewer has a valid point about the patron possibly really needing a wheelchair that was out of reach financially and asking for a discount, but there is also the possibility they were just trying to get a better price, nothing wrong with that. If a charitable organization opens the gate for one instance, soon it could be an uncontrollable flood of discounts. The whole point of hfh is to help those in need by providing habitats. For those of you that have never built a house from beginning to end, even at charitable prices and with donated goods, the end game is really steep. The 'no haggle' policy is in place exactly for the reason of getting every dime out of every sale to provide needed funds for building homes simple as that. read more

0 stars , First of all I went in this place looking for a recliner, found one i liked but is was broken I simply asked if they would lower the price if i bought it because i didn't see who would buy a broken chair for $80 the lady was very rude and snobby and anwserd with a NO. Well after walking around for a few seconds with my SERVICE dog she come up to me and tells me that i am not allowed to have my SERVICE DOG in there because I was not able to carry him and of course i cant he is a german shepard lab mix but i was followed around the store by the woman until i left the store I will not be back and I will not recomend this place to anyone. read more

The Hot Springs HWY 7 store had 4 employees at the front of the store that turned me away ten minutes before they were closed. A little irritating when I'm not from here. Won't be back. read more
