ReStore has more to offer than I remembered, from furniture, cabinets, lighting, small hardware, artwork, and home decor. Based on the "employee only area and donation drop off, I assume the options change regularly. I saw both sold signs and new items coming in during my visit. This spot is best suited for DIY home owners. Those are the brave souls not afraid to install used pieces or refurbish furniture. I don't have that skill set or patience, but I'll be back to keep browsing. Plenty of parking as this is a shopping strip used by several businesses. read more

I'm very disappointed with Restore. I purchased a queen sized bed frame. Upon getting home and putting it together, we realized the center frame support was missing. This is key for the frame to hold together. We checked our truck. Not there. I call Restore. The person who answered didn't ask anyone to check. She claimed the frame came in with all pieces, he guys always check, and it was my problem. I've been a regular at Restore for over a decade. $75.00 for a frame I cannot use and cannot return. read more

This was the first time we visited this Restore. We've been to others and got some products at good prices. We gave them some things that we have had around and never used. They were happy to receive everything. The have a special lane that you pull into beside the side door and then they unload your vehicle for you. Very friendly and helpful staff. It is interesting how they can refurbish things and make them useful. read more

It's like an air-conditioned yard sale. Most everything inside this place is absolutely disgusting, or you're shocked that they would even be selling it. However, if you go back on a regular basis, you'll find a metaphorical diamond every now and again. But, most of the time, you'll come out thinking "Good Lord." It's a good cause, though. This place is amazing!!! I could seriously spend my entire paycheck here. I consider myself an avid DIYer who likes to reupholster, revamp and repurpose things so i felt like a kid in a candy store. They have so many different things to choose from which change daily. Plus the store is pretty clean as organized (especially to be a donation and improvement store). Waited four hours for the pickup of a donation of several pieces of furniture only to have the drivers tell us several items were not able to be taken due to various reasons. A perfectly good television now sits along with some furniture that we moved into the garage ourselves because they won't come into the house. When you call for a pick-up, BE SPECIFIC ON WHAT YOU HAVE. Apparently used furniture and ten year old televisions aren't good enough for people in need??? I'm not sure if I knew what this place was before I got to Louisville, but it's close to me and gives me options. Having visited the dollar store in the same plaza for some cheap goodies, I decided to stroll in here to see what type of materials they had. To my surprise...they have a decent spread of used items. Of course, some are more used than the others. But overall you have a good enough chance of finding something you want. On my visit I saw couches, tables, chairs, nightstands, office furniture (home or business), washing machine and dryer, stove, dishwasher, lighting, kitchen cabinetry, and rows and rows of tools. Large variety of tiles was impressive. Really, you buy at your own risk - but on a good day you can make out like a bandit. Someone mentioned this was akin to an air conditioned yard sale - Agreed! read more

I'm not sure how to rate this business -- I've only visited this location, and I have no basis of comparison. I needed some random items to fix up our house (ex. screen door, cabinet hinges, drawer sliders, door stops, and such), so I stopped in to see what they offer. I guess I expected items to be in better condition (and newer). It's essentially like a picked-over Goodwill or Salvation Army-type store for home building supplies (and some old used furniture). Note: They do seem to have good deals on basic, but brand-new kitchen cabinets - still in the boxes. (I think a whole set is only like $400.) If you're on a budget or like a bargain on mostly used items, and you have a lot of time to dig around (and/or check back often), then this is probably a great place to start. Tip: You have to ask the front cashiers for the bathroom key. read more

Not your typical second hand store, in a good way. The ReStores always have a big selection of furniture, appliances, fixtures, etc. If you are doing a home project I would come here first before going to one of the big name stores. I've personally saved a lot of money by shopping here. Items are always changing so I make it a point to stop by weekly and take a look. I also donate to them, so it's a win win! read more

My wife and I purchased 17 items (total purchase just less than $200) at the Louisville, KY Habitat for Humanity Hikes Point ReStore location at approximately 6:00pm on Saturday, 27 Oct. Our purchase included 3 pieces of furniture. Two of the pieces of furniture were advertised in-store at 25% discount (based on furniture type). When the clerk handed us the register receipt, we saw it did not include the discounts (approximately $30). We brought this to the attention of the clerk, who called the Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager refused to give us the discount because we didn't ask for it while the clerk was ringing up the purchase. She pointed to a sign for regular Wednesday (Seniors), Thursday (Military), Friday (Union, Students, Teachers) Discount Days and said we were responsible for telling the clerk to apply the advertised discount. I can understand why a customer would need to identify themselves as a senior or a teacher, etc., however, we were not asking for a Discount Day discount. We were expecting the advertised in-store discount. The advertised in-store discounts should have been applied to our purchase automatically. Since the Assistant Manager refused to give us the discount, we said we'd just return the items and repurchase. Assistant Manage stated the items would have to go into the back of the store to be reprocessed and re-tagged even though nothing had left the sales floor. Since the Assistant Manager still refused to honor the discount, we returned the entire purchase. We have never had a buying experience like this. When we purchase items at Goodwill or Salvation Army the employees are happy to help. These other stores honor advertised discounts and we don't have to ask for them. read more

I love this store, you never know what you'll find. From floor tile, paint, light fixtures, antiques, to vintage sinks. The staff is very pleasant and the store is clean and organized. If you see something you think you might want or use buy it when you see it because next time it won't be there (I know from experience LOL). It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking. Everything always changing so you never know what you'll find. If you are like me and enjoy the challenge of finding vintage items for your 100 year house you'll love this store. read more

When it first opened, it was great, prices were great but now it's gotten way too expensive for stuff that doesn't need to be.

I LOVE this place! I can't decide if it's the great deals to be had or the fact that it's a charitable initiative or that they salvage so many useful items others would just toss and organize them into those neat little bags in those well ordered sections. Go ahead and get an old TV for your kid's playstation for under $20. Or a gently used screen door for $15. Or a smart sewing table complete with working machine for under $100. The store is clean and well lit and the inventory is all on a discount schedule based on how long it's been on the floor: 25% off after one month, 50% off after two, and 75% off after three. They'll even help you get your purchases to your car or hold them for you if it won't fit. read more

This store is perfect for small projects or used materials. This location does seem to have more lumber and other building materials than the other store by UofL, both places however are very good if you need inexpensive construction materials to finish or start a project. read more

I love looking through the bathroom vanity mirrors, the lighting fixtures, the tools and hardware, the chairs, scrap molding and boards, cabinets, doors, picture frames, decorative mirrors, and all the furniture. My list of gems found is actually too lengthy to post! I haven't tried the other locations yet, but I'm very excited to do so! I arrived at 5:53pm to pickup an previously purchased item, it was the quickest I could come after work. I walked in and immediately I was told "we're closed". I said "oh there's five minutes and I'm just picking up" I was told again "no were closed" I noted the time (5:55 now) and was told "We close early every day. You'll just have to come earlier." I was told the latest I could come is 5:30, keep in mind they don't close until 6pm. I'm unable to do this do you work. I offered to load the item myself, I was still told no and that they were closed. All the while there were still people shopping and checking out. I went to leave and he proceeded to lock the doors behind me. I then waited and they allowed customers to shop for 10 more minutes and proceed to checkout while multiple employees stood around and did nothing. Honestly I just wanted to pickup something that I was already purchased and borrowed a truck for the evening to pickup, this place's customer service is awful.
