I believe that Icon Realty was involved in hacking my bank account. I leased an apartment in the heart of las olas/Fort Lauderdale from December 2016, from Atlantic loft llc. I agreed to pay a 2 month security deposit of $2400 as well as first, last and security (pretty standard) got my key, etcétera. After 2 different companies handling our property, ICON Realty came in January 2020 and revamped property by implementing a ***online payment service ***** aka , a way to get into your bank account. I questioned who this is and why I had to use this system to pay, not only to be replied with "It is our new system and you have to use it, you must pay rent this way or consult your attorney" As I went ahead and used it but decided to not renew my upcoming ending lease of 3/30/20. I emailed, texted and explain that I would not be renewing the lease because not only I don't trust the payment system, I had a very difficult time communicating with Benjamin (who by the way runs the whole thing). He ignored all my calls and the ones he replied, he did very rudely. I promptly moved out on schedule and handed him the keys along with my original lease agreement. He took the keys and said that He did not have a refund and I would need to wait 30 days to receive one on the mail. Now 30 days later. My bank account has been HACKED and bank investigated the multiple charges leading back to that January rent payment. I have been getting random withdrawals from different wiring entities totaling over 1k so far. Due to covid19, I can not yet file a claim in court. And the reason I am writing this is to WARN tenants and landlords about companies like this! I am attaching the refund check I just received. What a joke! See you in court.

FirstService can never hold on to anyone. There's a constant turnover of staff from building mangers to front desk to engineers and housekeeping. No one seems to know what they are doing and no one seems to care. I've reported various issues to the office and nothing gets corrected, I go back days or weeks later to check on the status and the office staff acts like it's the first time they heard of the issue. I've mentioned this to neighbors and they all say the exact same thing happens when reporting issues. Turns out, many of us residents report the same issues and the management office's response is to pretend it's the first time they've heard of the issue. They lie to our face saying they will address the issue but do nothing. They never apologize for the delay or admit they haven't been able to get to the problem yet because they are dealing with "X, Y, or Z". Routine repair work and service projects take months and months and months to complete because management constantly drops the ball and doesn't get the necessary estimates or schedule service techs. Instead, they lie and gaslight residents. This is their management style. I've lived in several other cites around the country and never experienced the level of incompetence combined with antipathy as Miami has. When it comes to condo association management companies in Miami, every one seems to be awful. You just have to decide which is the lesser evil.

I've made multiple attempts to reach the management via e-mail and in-person with no thorough explanation other than stating that they are sorry for the delay. This lack of professionalism and disregard for Florida tenant law is unacceptable. I hope this review encourages better business practices for future tenants.
