My wife and I stayed here for one night on a short visit from Merida using a free night certificate courtesy of my Chase IHG credit card. The hotel is incredible - a collection of old colonial buildings that have been completely renovated. Large olympic sized swimming pool with hammocks suspended over the water at one end, and beautiful grounds. Our suite was luxurious with a very comfortable king size bed, large bathroom, cable TV (only 4 channels) , minibar, etc. Food in the restaurant was ok - Our dinner and breakfast was good but nothing special. In the morning, we were brought complementary coffee to our room The hacienda is in the middle of nowhere, about a 1.5 miles (2km) up a potholed road off of the highway. There isn't much else to do or see in the immediate area so bring a book to read and prepare to relax Highly recommended! read more
