Ms. Linda, the Executive Director of the historical society, gave my classmates and I a tour of the house and it was amazing (and a workout). My husband and I always feel so welcomed here. Kelly is incredibly kind, accommodating, and inviting. Breakfast is excellent every morning, and they provide a daily charcuterie board to snack on, which is such a nice, thoughtful touch. We also loved that they have a fully stocked, self service coffee bar available anytime, featuring a great variety of coffees, espressos, teas, and even hot chocolate to suit whatever mood you are in. If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax, this is it. The staff is so friendly, and having spa services available right on site makes it even better. Plus, it is in a great location, just a short, easy drive into Middletown to grab lunch or dinner. This is the perfect place to truly unwind and recharge. But what I got was a very tired room close enough to the entrance that we got to hear the group having an informal party in the lobby until midnight (Room 132). I asked about switching to one of the renovated rooms and they said none were available. What I like about Holiday Inn Express is you know what you're getting -- clean room; simple breakfast etc. We didn't get that on this stay.

Each couple opened their own tab. When questioning the bartender about the forced gouging, he just smiled and said "it is required by management" . Any song requests are $2. It is a shame that simple family fun could be ruined by greed and entitlement.
