West Monroe Office While Haik Humble Eye Center appears to provide quality medical care and professional eye services for patients, the conditions in the waiting area are deeply concerning and below acceptable standards for patient comfort and sanitation. Many of the patients are senior citizens, including individuals using wheelchairs and walkers. Unfortunately, the waiting area is extremely small, causing patients to sit uncomfortably close together with very little personal space. The overcrowding creates an environment that feels unsafe and unsanitary, especially for elderly individuals and those with health vulnerabilities. One of the most troubling issues is the restroom placement and ventilation. The bathroom is located within the cramped waiting space, and odors from waste frequently spread throughout the entire area where patients are seated. This creates an unpleasant and unhealthy atmosphere for everyone waiting to be seen. Additionally, patients are often required to wait for unreasonable lengths of time while sitting in close proximity to others who may be coughing or sneezing. Given the age and health conditions of many patients, this raises serious sanitation and public health concerns. I respectfully encourage management to reevaluate the waiting room layout, ventilation, seating arrangements, and scheduling process in order to provide a cleaner, safer, and more dignified environment for patients--especially senior citizens who deserve comfort and consideration while receiving medical care. read more

I have always enjoyed a good experience at Haik Humble. The waiting area is grouped so that you do not have to sit very close to anyone, if you don't want to. The restrooms are right inside the interior door leading to the examination rooms and are large and very clean. The staff is genuinely kind and helpful. Dr. Dinh was absolutely amazing. She gave me my life back. I have been literally blind for as long as I can remember and then developed cataracts. I was scared to have the surgery but went through with it anyway. She has such a great bedside manner. She was so comforting and assuring during the surgery and kept assuring me that she was there with me and I was ok. I chose the vivity lens and on day 1 post op I had 20/20 vision in the first eye. I can't remember a time that I didn't have to wear contacts or glasses and now I can see the world in a whole new light just by opening my eyes. NO glasses or contacts needed. I would recommend her to anyone needing this procedure. BTW, I had the same results in the second eye. I'm 2 days post op from the 2nd surgery (had them done 1 week apart) and I see perfectly. I've been a type 1 diabetic for 40 years and I never thought it would be possible to see like this again. After several appointment changes, I was informed that my Dr was no longer there. They reluctantly told me where I could find him. When I asked about my records, I was told to come by and get them. So today, I was in Monroe (I live and work outside of Winnsboro and don't make special unnecessary trips!) and asked for my records at the Monroe office. The woman asked if I was a pt of Dr Scoggin and when I told her I am, she rolled her eyes and told me that I needed to fill out a form and they'd be ready to pick up next week. I told her that the last person I talked to told me I only needed to come, sign the form and get my papers. The eye roll was uncalled for and what does it matter why I need my records. They're MY records. So I said "forget it" and will just start completely over with my eye care. I never cared for the folks in that office anyway. The PA's all act like I was an inconvenience, never mind that I have a family history of retina issues and blindness. I try to be proactive and they did not care if I wasn't there for major problems. read more

Given an eye exam in which my vision came out worse. When I went back, it turned out to the prescription in error, after I had spent 500 dollars on the glasses. I had to go to another physcian, spent another 500 with a completely different prescription. I went back to haik and humble, where they accused me of not coming back within the week of dispensing. I had "Refractive Surgery" performed here. The surgery went well and recovery has been good. No complaints there. The problem is with the billing. I have double insurance with VSP whom assured me that they pay 100% for Lasik with the group insurance that I am covered under. After telling the billing staff this information they still had me pay $3500 out of my own pocket and said their discount was better than the insurances (doesn't make sense to me). Three weeks later after many calls and after asking them to send me a copy of the bill so I can contact my insurance company directly, they admitted that they haven't tried to file it with VSP yet because the VSP billing lady had been on vacation. It is doubtful that anyone would have been on vacation for three weeks. Sorry but I think I was fibbed to and the only reason they are attempting to file it now is because I asked for a copy of the bill. I am not impressed. read more
