General cut was ok - short back and sides, so you cant go wrong really but I specifically asked for a long tuft at the front (tin tin style). I even told him that I was very nervous due to previous experiences and was worried it would be cut wrong. All went well to start with, front tuft was left long but then, just like previous hairdressers, he kept snipping and snipping at it until it was barely longer than the the rest of the hair. And yes, one could say I should have stopped him, but its actually very difficult to see what is happening as it is being cut, and one has to put a certain amount of trust in the hairdresser. At no point did he ask if it was ok, even though I kept pulling it up with my hand to see the length of the tuft (which I thought made it fairly obvious that I was concerned about the length). Now I have to look in the mirror every morning and be totally unhappy with my hair for at least 3 months until it grows out again! Also, when I got home I realised that he had cut the sideburns down so short that there was a gap between them and my beard. Granted this is due to the way my hair grows in that area but before I remembered to mention it he had clippered it all off! What is it with hairdressers that they don't take a look at customers hair before they start cutting it? they just wade in with the clippers assuming that everyone's hair is the same. This experience means that I will NEVER return to a hairdressers in future and will go back to doing it myself. VERY VERY unhappy customer. Following that there was absolutely no way I was going to let him anywhere near the beard that I have been growing for 5 months!! I'm sure the guy is a very good hairdresser really, but in my opinion he needs to be a bit more careful about checking with the customer that the cut is going as planned.

Expect a long wait at the weekend and at lunchtimes as the store gets very busy. You'll probably also find that ealy mornings can be popular (presumeably with everyone thinking that they'll beat the rush). Waiting facilities are basically just a row of chairs - don't expect the salon treatment here. The salon is clean and brightly lit and is popular with all ages and both men and women (although to be fair it's predominantly women). Good sanitation procedures appear to be used. The cuts are acceptable but I find that you have to know what you want as this isn't really the right setting for a consultation! In terms of price Supercuts are very competative, especially given that Woking salons often think that they are in the WestEnd of London! Recommended for basic cuts.

They listen to what you ask for and will give you advice on the cut you want but they will cut it how you want. You can have a wet cut or dry cut for quickness. The salon is always kept clean and tidy and the staff are always welcoming and pleased to see you. They are very organised and will phone and/or text you to remind of your appointment. I've had highlights done here as well as cuts and have always been really pleased with the results. I can't deny that it's quite expensive, but it's a bit cheaper than the Toni & Guy chain and I've found the results and the service to be much better. I was first introduced to Headmaster's in London near Paddington station and had consistently amazing results with my colourist Thea. Yet, the branch in Reading leaves something to be desired. They responded professionally when I went back and gave me a full refund and another colour on top in an attempt to make my hair look normal again. However, it hasn't been the same since and I've been searching for the best hairdresser in Reading for a while now. I wish I could have found someone there I would be happy to recommend but nothing yet. I don't completely hate headmaster's but I can't love them either because I don't know the staff there enough. So, my main recommendation would be to go with a senior stylist or colourist if you decide to go here. I put pricey because the last time I went I felt it was very inflated for what I got. They also have something called stand0by haircuts, where you can get haircuts at reduced rates if you turn up on the day itself if peple cancel their appointments. I had a cut and colour and i am very pleased with the results. My friends and family complimented me on how my haircut suits my face. :) th interview went really well btw :)
