Stopped by on a busy Friday morning full of Passover and Easter tourists in Orlando but the Hair Cuttery was a calm respite on an otherwise hectic day. My stylist was a young lady originally from Virginia with whom I shared Glen Campbell's Lineman song and a healthy tip in exchange for one of the best haircuts I've ever received, which ended with a relaxing shampoo and scalp massage. I went into this location for a trim and blowout. The total was $35. It wasn't great, but I just moved down and needed a trim. It was what I expected from a hair cuttery. A week or so later I go back for just a blowout, and they tell me it's $35. I asked, "How is a blowout-only the same price as a trim and blowout?" They looked at the history and saw I had come in for a trim and blowout for $35. So again I asked how it's the same price for half the service. This is the best part. You guys-- I wish I could make this up-- They told me the blowout will cost more because I have TEXTURED hair. Yup. TEXTURED. Y'all (I can't stop laughing), y'all I am a pale white Irish girl with straight blonde hair. LOL. Please let that sink in for a moment. I'll even post a picture of my hair just so everyone can be the judge on "textured". (PLEASE NOTE: hair cuttery did not color my hair. The photo is literally to show how un-textured my hair is) So anyway I call nonsense and get up to leave and they tell me (I'm sorry I'm still laughing here about how my hair is textured), they tell me that as a "one time courtesy" they'll only charge $20 AND that they'll notate the account so if I ever come back for a blowout I'll be charged $35 for my textured hair. I'm crying laughing. There wasn't a next time, for obvious reasons. Anyway the place is a joke, inconsistent pricing in and of itself is poor business. Took my "textured" hair elsewhere. If I could give more stars, I would! Let me just say, I NEVER like getting my hair cut because I have trust issues with people from the past doing the exact opposite of what I want. I kept putting it off to get a haircut and I eventually just decided to jump with a leap of faith and get my hair done! The stylist that did my hair was, Noelle Rosemann and she was AWESOME! She worked with what I was looking for and I fell in love with my new look and felt confident! She listens and asks questions before she begins. She is seriously the sweetest and also very understanding. I RECOMMEND her! I am happy to finally say, I have someone I can go to and feel at ease when getting my hair done. I had a great review of this place but have since taken it back. If you go in for a basic wash and blow out then all is well but I made the mistake of letting them color my hair one time. They colored it the wrong color and still proceeded to charge me in full but said they would take $10 off my next styling. Then they charged me $10 extra for long hair which is shoulder length and I had never been charged that before...and even though they colored it I got charged to blow it out separate, flat iron separate, blah blah for an overall charge of $120...Needless to say I will never go back and I do not recommend them. read more

The stylists are all very nice and you get a great conversation while they cut your hair (I like to talk). I would recommend using the mobile site or app in order to reserve your spot as opposed to just walking-in. The only reason I give it 4-stars is that I've gone four times and the latest time I went I was rushed by the guy cutting my hair so he could get a friend of his into the chair. The salon was dirty. The 'stylist' didn't clean the area before he sat me in the chair, and I had to walk through piles of other people's hair. They weren't even that busy, so it would have been nice for them to run a broom around the place. I made an 11:30 appointment, with no special request for stylist, the day prior to my visit. I arrived at 11:15 and checked in. I waited until 11:45 and watched 3 walk ins be taken while I was ignored. When I asked about this I was told that the stylist assigned to me was busy. During a family vacation to the area, I finally had enough of the knots and tangles my curly hair kept ending up in. I walked in and was able to be seen by someone in just a few minutes. I just needed a simple trim (roughly 1 inch) and some layers re-added to my hair. I lost about 3 inches of hair from the ends (which were not that bad as I had had a cut about 6 weeks before) and I got a lecture about how mousse is drying out my hair. They also tried to push some products that I wasn't interested in as I have a regular place back home that I trust way more. Very kid friendly and also special needs friendly! My son was very apprehensive about getting his hair cut away from home. She saw him in his wheelchair through the door and I went inside to speak with her about the fact that he was having surgery and really needed his hair cut and washed prior to the surgery. This place has consistently been a rip off. My wife called to make an appointment with a particular stylist. While making that appointment, she asked how much the stylist charges for a cut. The reply was $20.00. My wife went to her appointment got her hair cut and at the end was charged triple the amount. It's unacceptable and nonsense. No customer service; having never been to this store my wife and I were not aware of the fact that a shampoo was part of the service, so when we were asked if we would like to include the shampoo we both were under the impression that it was an EXTRA, as we were never told it was part of the service. Then as I questioned the charge for a shampoo and cut we were told we said "we did not want it" and the price is the same. As I said earlier if we had known we would have taken the service, after all who wants to pay for a service they don't receive.
