I am so upset. This should be called the Hair Butchery instead. My son's father brought him in for a cut. Sent him in with a picture of what he wanted and this is how it came out. It is uneven, unblended and choppy. At this point the only way to fix it is to buzz it and start over and my son didn't want a buzzed head. This is horrible and I highly do not recommend. People are nice!!!! However experience with my hair is not what I expected. I have straight hair doesn't require too much heat. Blower was burning my ends of my hair. You have to use better equipment. I made the stylist aware and shown her that it was burning. She said I am not using heat. I told her look at the back of the blower and you see my hair. There was a piece and I shown her. Second the dye was all over my side of my face and all round the edges. The dye was not fully washed off. Not every stylist knows how to work with every type of hair. Third everyone that was walking in had short hair....If you have long healthy hair I wouldn't recommend. read more

Found ourselves in the Davenport area and in need of a men's haircut. I believe that mine is a simple skin fade using a buzzer with various clips and a scissor on top. Searched around and settled on Haircuttery based on distance and ability for same day appointment. I arrived a few minutes early and was greeted by Ramia (found out afterward that she was new) who cleaned her station and had me sit. We discussed my cut, and she proceeded with caution and shortened it up more to my liking. Passed on the wash, etc, having come here fresh from showering. I appreciated her patience. I just got an amazing haircut from Kayla at Hair Cuttery! I'll definitely be going back, it's honestly the best haircut I've ever had.

I came in wanting full foil highlights and a trim for my 29" long hair expecting to pay a little over $200 based on the pricing listed online for the stylist I chose (Brooke), but I left with uneven balayage after she convinced me balayage would look better and my hair is now 7" shorter. I told her I've been growing my hair for several years and I wanted to keep as much length as possible, so I'm very upset and even cried in the salon. The stylist was nice and I think she felt sympathetic, but I'm not happy with my hair and I spent $280 (after receiving a $10 discount for being a first time customer). I sadly wouldn't recommend, especially for anyone with very long hair. read more

My balayage was not the way I wanted it. I asked for a butterfly cut, and instead she just trimmed my face frame, my hair is still so yellow, that I had to redo the toner myself just to get what I actually needed and wanted. Out the girl was great. She was sweet and everything so I don't judge her. I should make that if you're going to have a new client the best thing to do is to make sure you start up a great first impression and sadly, I just did not have a good impression. read more

This is one of the worse experiences I have ever had at one of the Hair Cutters locations. I always go to this chain in Melbourne, FL and have never had an issue. I'm visiting from NJ to take care of my brother, who just got a massive surgery to remove cancer from his colon/ liver/ gallbladder and spleen. All I wanted was a relaxing experience by getting my hair washed and blow dried. This by far was more stress added to the already stressful situation. I stopped by the store and 1st the lady who checked me in for my appointment tells me that my hair is too thick and I need to pay more. How do you measure "thick hair" is it a quantifiable equation? Or just a judgement call? Then she starts washing my hair and said, "well you have extensions and I didn't know that" and I'm like, I never ever have had an issue in Melbourne, and it's the same company. She literally asked me if I wanted to get out of the shampoo area if I didn't want to pay more. Like what kind of customer service is this? I honestly At this point don't have an option, as I needed to get back to the hospital and needed to get my hair washed and dried. At the end my hair was still wet and not polished, and i ended up getting the dryer from the stylist hand and drying my own hair, for $75. I will NEVER...come back to this location, and honestly suggest that the company review how this location represents their business. read more

I asked the stylist for some face framing layers just in the front of my face. First she starting by taking off layers in the back and then in the front she gave me these horrible thick bangs. I get married in a couple of months and she really ruined my hair. On top of that she charged me $61 but when I booked online it said it would be $40. Edit: the salon owner Barbara called and she offered to fix it for me, she was very sweet and so was the stylist who did my hair; unfortunately it wasn't what I wanted and I'm hoping that it can be fixed. I went in today (05/25/19) to the salon in St. Charles Plaza, Davenport, FL, to get my daughter's hair cut. The stylist called me to check on my daughter after finishing. Then she mentioned that I will be charged a "detangling fee". This was the first time I heard of such "service", since we've been there before. But I was fine with it thinking it may be like a $5 fee. To my surprise, it was a whooping $20.00! The service we originally went in for was only $18.00...Isn't that ridiculous?! I fight back saying that she was charging me more than the hair cut itself and for brushing her hair, and she kept saying that she had to detangle it. I told her that is pretty much the same and that in any case she should've told me and I would happily do it myself. She kept giving me the same lame excuse. No Apologies or Remedy Whatsoever. I even pay a $5 gratuity because I am a good person, but I am not happy about the stylist nor the salon staff, because there was another stylist by her side that heard the entire conversation and didn't do anything about it. He talks to him and really takes his time to make sure his hair looks good instead of rushing it and leaving it choppy (like I dealt with at other places until I started taking him here). The stylist seemed nice enough but more focused on keeping up the conversation with colleagues vs paying attention to my cut. I guess I wouldn't be writing this review if my haircut came out ok. Unfortunately it was not the best cut- I asked for a trim and got so much more...it was rather short and as a result now sticks out in a few spots. The dumb thing is, like another customer stated in their review, I still tipped over 20%. Someone pls kick me in the butt and remind me that tips are for folks that go above and beyond and should match the level of service provided and not an automatic thing. I went here for literally just a trim on 5/13/21. I had long, layered hair with a side bang. I left with a short, choppy, uneven bob and butchered bangs. Stylist destroyed my hair, and I didn't even realize how bad the cut was until I got home. I called the salon the next morning, was told very rudely that the manager wouldn't be in that day. I ended up finding a new salon and paid $80 to have the cut evened out and the layers softened a bit. This place was terrible, stylist had no clue what she was doing. I reserved my spot in the waiting list online and waited an hour to show up for my appointment. When I walked in I was told that they would not have time to do my hair today. I commented that I wish I had known that over an hour ago. I continued to ask him to look in the computer because I had made an appointment. (Knowing I was in line, but trying to get him to look) He then noted that I was the first in line and could wait and get my hair colored as requested. Once they got to me, I let the lady know that I just wanted a single color as booked online. She told me that she would get the price and be back which I thought was odd because I already knew the website said $52 for single color. When she returned 10min later she mentioned that it would cost $95. I told her that the website said $52 for single color. After telling me why I needed two different products in my hair I insisted that she only do the $52 single color. She said ok and that she would go get that price as well. She came back once again to tell me that it would cost $75. I told her that was crazy as the website says $52 and she began to mention the length of my hair. The website doesn't mention length in their prices at all. Not sure whether to blame the sorry customer service or the website, but I won't be back.
