What I mean by this is that despite the number of times I've trammed it past the rows of shops in this area, which I do very often because I live around here, I simply don't quite take notice of the shops. They just don't stand out, or maybe I'm just not attentive to retailers in this area...horrible, horrible person that I am. Whatever the case may be, I am the one losing out here, and I know this because of my recent discovery of the Dollhouse Beauty Salon, squished in amongst aforementioned shops. It took a brochure quietly left in my letterbox offering me an introductory discount price of $52 (normally $65) for a ladies' haircut, wash and blow-wave to get me in, and boy am I glad I did (I say as I throw my head of springy, glossy curls around seductively). The sleekly-bobbed Jasmine welcomed me into the salon, made me feel immediately comfortable with a easy dose of witty chit-chat, and then snipped my locks into the glorious mane of hair that it now is (believe me, I was looking more Medusa than Vanessa before this). Make a mid-week appointment and the cut, wash, blow-wave beauty extravaganza is yours for only $50 ($28 for dudes). I beweave!

Hacked my hair and didn't make it right…read more I've been going to this salon for four years and seeing the same stylist. Recently, the stylist made a mistake that had to be rectified by cutting my hair very short. I hate the cut and asked to come back a few days later for some more adjustment. I also requested a meeting with the owner to discuss being charged for the adjustment cut. I was told by email that I would be granted no meeting and that she believes the cut to be the result of a "mutual misunderstanding." Even though the stylist told me last week that he would adjust the cut if I requested it later, this has apparently now been retracted. I have been a loyal customer of this salon for years, and have even weathered another botched cut with them. The stylist made a mistake in the cut and acknowledged it at the time. Our four-years long relationship started when another stylist made the same mistake, and he started correcting it. I recommend that you try another salon if you want to work with people who will acknowledge loyalty, address concerns cooperatively, and seek to build a relationship.

They are very personal with each person, and I really would be wrapped if I worked here because all the staff are all so lovely and friendly. I have had beauty done there regularly, hair and makeup. They have the best foot pedicures and use great quality products. I have even received a bottle of wine each time around Christmas to say thank-you for being a regular! Its a great salon if to go to if you are a girl wanting quality and great service. Its not a cheap salon to go to but the prices are worth what you receive.

I had a previous regular hairdresser, but see moved out of easy public transport access from where I lived, as well as hiring a not overly competent apprentice. Anyway, back to Xiang Hair. A friend had been coming here for years, so suggested I give it a go (& she always had amazing hair). I made an appointment with Tom and couldn't be happier! I've now been 4-5 times, a colour & blow dry each time, a trim 2 of the visits. The most it's cost me was $186 for colour, trim & blow wave. As well as how happy I am with my hair, the atmosphere of the salon is great, it's big, light & your colour gets done while sitting at a big table in the middle, which I find much more comfortable than stuck at a mirror with a tiny table while waiting for your colour to develop. Added bonuses are that it's within a couple of mins walk from tram stop, parking right out front and subway next door if you're coming straight from work & want something to eat while there :) Oh and you'll always be offered coffee/tea/water which comes with an arnotts 2 biscuit pack - I forgot how much I love scotch fingers & NICE bickies!

From the moment you arrive, till the moment you leave, inevitably with your hair looking better than it has ever looked, you'll feel pampered and you'll know that you are getting your money's worth of style. And that goes for boys and girls. Rhubard uses Evo products, which are great just for the packaging alone, but the products also work. Get yourself and your hairs over there.

Being new…read moreto the area 12 months ago and following the birth of my baby, I was in desperate need of finding a hair salon to fix me up. Being a bleached blonde with damaged hair, I'll admit I'm not the easiest client. But quite frankly a visit to the hairdressers used to give me the shakes, nobody could seem to get my hair the shade of ash blonde I desired, and the long hair I craved went up in smoke as it would be snapped away. And then by miracle Toni K became the only salon I knew close to my home. Twelve months later I am a devoted client; making my way to the salon every six weeks to pamper myself with a cut, colour and treatment. My hair is now half way down my back with not a tint of brassy blonde. I've never been one to enjoy the banter of forced conversation between hairdresser and client, but the atmosphere of the salon combined with the genuine chit chat between hairdressers, Toni K himself and clients alike gives the salon an olden day barber shop feel with all the modern trimmings of a modern salon. I simply can't speak more highly of the results I've received. Every time I leave I feel like a million dollars, ecstatic at my cut, colour and the price I've paid for it all. If you decide to book an appointment, Astin is a tried and tested professional. She is respectful about what you want and is able to pull it off with perfection. And if you're a guy, the girls can look after you just as well, but you might want to test out Toni K; I've seen him work his magic on quite a few fellas who are obviously regulars, and all I can is the man certainly deserves a self titled hair salon.
