The hair cut was fine but the stylist was very short and rude. I took my 13 year old in for a trim with McKenzie on her birthday and she almost seemed mad we were there. She never interacted with her ( has Autism and anxiety already ) It was very disappointing since her other hair dresser had moved away and we were trying to find one. I'm visiting my best friend and wanted to get a haircut here. I called to schedule and received a call back mid day. I informed the owner I just needed a haircut. I was informed that she did not know how to cut hair in layers. She further shared she had been styling hair for over 20 years and she did not know how to so she would not schedule me. She further asked the other stylist with her if she knew how to cut long hair in layers and also denied knowing how. Unbelievable. Why I would be told this behooves me. Very disappointing. read more

cut my bangs way shorter than I wanted (like 3 inches shorter than I asked for) and one side of my hair was longer than the other LOL. I ended up getting my hair fixed but it was too messed up to make it look much better :/ I wouldn't mind that much but I have prom next week and I look like Lord Farquad. I relocated from Texas almost four years ago. I had a hard time finding a salon for myself and my mom. Thankfully, I came across Hair on Main and couldn't be happier. Shannon has been doing my hair as well as my mom's hair over a year. I have long curly hair with long layers. My mom likes to change her hair up at times and Shannon is so sweet and kind to help her get whatever look she is wanting. All the ladies in the salon are extremely welcoming and kind. Out of a recommendation, I scheduled a haircut with Lisa for this past Tuesday, 1/29/19. I showed Lisa a picture of exactly what I wanted. The results were less than desirable. When I questioned my awful bang cut, Lisa told me it would "take a few washes for the 'shock' to wear out of my hair". I didn't think it was that big of a deal at the time. My hair looked awful, but I thought it was just due to it not being styled and I tried not to freak out. I got home and my husband commented on how horrible my hair looked. Mind you he's NEVER ever said that after a haircut, ever! I decided to wash my hair and try to style it. I purchased a curling wand and went to work. It still looked horrible! I washed, blow dried, and flat ironed it the following morning. I was hopeful that it would look better and more even that it did the night before(when I tried the curling wand). To my dismay, that is when I noticed the full extent of the unevenness. I've posted pictures below of what I wanted and what I got. I would also like to note that I did send a message via Facebook on Wednesday, which shows as read, however, I have yet to receive a response. All I am asking for is a refund since I had to pay another stylist to fix this mess I was left with. The stylist who fixed my hair even took photos of before and after for her page.. that's how BAD my cut was! I've only cried twice in my life over a haircut and I'm 36 years old! I just had my hair done by Olivia at Hair on Main in downtown Clayton. She did an amazing job! I always drive to Raleigh to get blonde highlights and haircut. She listened to what I really wanted. She added more highlights and lighten me up (I was darker than I wanted last highlight job). She continually checked in to make sure we were sticking to what I wanted. I asked her to make my layers shorter and she jumped on it without hesitation. She made me feel so comfortable in her chair. We had a great time chatting. Very talented and sweet person! When looking for a hair salon I decided to use Yelp. I found Hair on Main and just took a chance with whomever they booked me with. The salon is clean and the ladies were very nice and friendly. I got really lucky and had Cathi do my hair. I went from blonde (in a box) to brunette w/ blonde ombré. It looks amazing. I absolutely love it and will continue to use Cathi and Hair on Main. I first visited the salon 18 months ago with poor color, damaged hair, and an extremely bad haircut..Cathi assessed my "hair situation" and immediately corrected my color problem.. My hair color is amazing, and does not fade after 3 or 4 weeks..My haircuts are well done, and my hair is healthy and silky. Here is my experience, walked in, showed the stylist my hair, and a pic of what I want, and asked how much for hair coloring and keratin? The answer was $X price for everything. Booked the appt and came on time. Colored my hair 3 times (over the length of the day), and Oops-ed every time for getting it wrong, so she had to reschedule me for next week to "get it right", which is fine, but she charged me the X amount by now, already. Which is fine, as I trusted they will fix my hair and complete the job next time. In my next appt, she was not there, "kids are sick" which is totally fine, so had to reschedule for the next week. Called me a day before and asked me again to reschedule for the third week, and asked me to bring $100 extra for fixing the color, and another $250 for Keratin because "I have too much hair, and my hair color is too dark and they call it hair-corrupt?!!" A total of $350 on top of what she asked me the first day, which I already paid the first day although she got it wrong (I guess that is my over-trusting problem/lesson). Called them and asked if she can complete the coloring only (at least), for $50 instead of $100 on top of what I paid, so the stylist asked me to talk to the manager, and the manager said she can not do anything... I paid what they asked for, for a complete job, including Keratin, and accepted the delays, and the answer is NO, my hair is too much and hair-corrupt?!! The manager didn't want to loose the $50 she asked for, and stick to the $100 extra for coloring, so I demanded they finish what they committed to. Then the manager suggested me to go somewhere else and hang up on me. I guess if you are going there, don't pay up front, if they don't get it right. Refuse delays, no point of accepting them if not appreciated... and make sure to get a quote for their price, because it can double if they feel they screwed up, just to push you away... idk what else. read more
