The layout is spacious - you hear others around you but never feel in someone else's space or conversation. Reanna gave me a lovely haircut today complete with styled curls. She listened to my hair concerns, offered options, and checked in throughout to see if the cut and style was going as I hoped. I would definitely return here again and recommend to others. Everyone is really nice here. There's a coffee and water station by the entrance if you want something to drink during your service. There's also lots of great natural light coming in to the salon. I took a quick look through their price list and everything seems to be pretty reasonable and on par with other places in the area. I had previously been told by other salons that it wasn't possible to go as light as I wanted, and always left with a weird orangey-brassy tone. After my next appointment, I loved what she did with a few foils to balance my two toned hair, let her and the desk staff know how happy I was, and left Lydia a $30.00 tip. Nine days and two shampoos later, the color had faded a lot. I called to make an appointment for Lydia to see my hair and was told grievances about color corrections had to be made within a week. I explained that I loved the color when I left the salon, but had no idea it would fade so fast after a mere two washings. I was told someone would call me back the next day. They called the next day when I was in a theater. I called them back the next day and talked with Carrie who identified herself as the manager. I was told that Lydia would not see me as I was too hard to please. Huh???? I had initially told everyone how much I loved her work! I had given her a large tip! When I asked the stylist what we could do to fix it, the other girls in the salon came over and asked what the problem was, not taking responsibility for any action. I was told that they did not have time to fix it and was given a colour stripping shampoo to maybe take some of the colour out. Then I was booked in 5 days later to fix the problem. The cut is horrible as well. 1 side is longer than the other. I will never go back to this establishment.

I honestly let my hair air dry every day (it's all about the fabulous cut!). But my cut was done to perfection. It was an updated twist on my usual cut and made me look at least 5 years younger. Im old. So I'll take any improvements!!! They use high end products and I ended up buying some ombre products which are top of the line stuff. They also do eyelashes, pedicures, manicures, waxing and even make their own custom lipsticks. I tried one and the all natural oils used really moisturized my lips! Spoil yourself here. However, our communication didn't result in what I hoped for and I was quite sad. Now the "selling point" for me - a senior level stylist stepped in, listened to my concerns, gave some pointers to the first stylist, and totally turned the whole experience around. In essence I ended up with two complete haircuts without ever being made to feel like an idiot, and left quite happy. I went to Bliss for about three years and switched from the salon I was visiting simply because I'd been visiting the stylist there for too long (yes, it's possible) and wanted a drastic change. I saw Diane's hair and commented on it before realizing that she was a hair stylist herself - it was incredibly funky and edgy and she totally pulled it off. I had never had short hair and Diane's haircut was quite short and unlike any style I had ever seen. When I visited her for the first time, we sat down and talked about what I was looking to do and my only criteria was that it had to be funky and drastically different than my current style so what I ended up with was a short fo-hawk with florescent yellow and blue highlights. On the surface it may sound extreme and not flattering at all but I absolutely adored it and judging by the number of compliments I received, I know others thought it looked great too. Since those crazy florescent days, I've mellowed out quite a bit and now have very long hair. Diane has always gone out of her way to make sure that whatever style I choose - crazy or not - I absolutely love it. Everyone working there gives fantastic customer service and the products they sell have always kept my hair feeling and looking healthy. Because I'm now much more thrifty on how much I spend on hair cuts, I visit salons much less often than I used to. Also, St. Albert is quite out of the way for me. However, if I ever want to go "out there" again with a look, Bliss will be the first place I go. To clarify: all the stylists do an excellent job of catering to whatever look you're going for. Kylie was great with me and my hair and took the time to make sure I was pleased with the results. She also offered for me to come back in if ever after going home I felt like my bangs needed to be shorter or if one of my curls went unruly on me! Once again, my hair looks amazing! My two small qualms in the last review, that kept it from being 5 stars, were a) there was never a beverage offered and b) scalp massages were not included. Well, both of those items can be scratched off the list. I am offered a beverage when I sit down and my scalp is always beautifully massaged. The ladies here are truly artists.
