Never left on a sour note at Haitian Sensation! I've known Joseph since 2016 back when the Shenango Valley HALL was still standing. I remember the 6ft foldable table and the multiple crockpots filled with deliciousness. How beautiful it is to see what it has bloomed into! God has blessed his mission in supporting Haiti for sure. The employees are a blessing themselves, very down to earth and unusually nice, definitely fantastic! In my lifelong experience, you don't find many cheerful folks up north but it pays to know the One who provides joy! The food is never a miss. Poul Diri ak Pwa is beyond delicious and flavorful.

It is a MUST to get the jerk chicken version. The Haluski, Mac & Cheese, Pulled Pork Sandwich, Soup Joumou (when available) and Coffee Stir are favorites.

Jerk chicken, fried fish sandwich, spicy coleslaw, Mac n cheese and haluski are all delicious. I'd pass on the patties (like empanadas or Jamaican patties) because they aren't super memorable. And don't forget to order dessert....

Had the spicy cole slaw, fried plantains, fried pork. The sandwiches and menu look complete and would definitely give a shot to each of them. Good prices and awesome interior. Clean and well kept including bathrooms. Cheers!

I had the goat with rice and beans. $13.00. Beautifully seasoned. Not the kind of dish I would expect in Sharon. Or PITTSBURGH or Cleveland for that matter. Short and sweet review. Place is hard to find, very near the Sharon Regional Hospital. Right next to a Subway in a plaza that is off the Main Street, east State street. Food is great. Great menu. And the goat is delicious nicely seasoned and fall off the bone tender.

We just ate here yesterday afternoon. I lived for several years in Haiti as a missionary kid and it's awesome to live this close to an authentic place to get Haitian food. The owner is a great man and I consider him my friend. Definitely should try their bean sauce on a bed of white rice with a side of beef. Mmmm. The best!

My brother had been encouraging me to check this place out for quite some time. Finally I popped in for lunch today. On the outside, you can barely tell that this place exists. It's in a small Plaza and very unassuming in the outside. On the inside, it's a small, warm, restaurant/coffee shop with some great personality. The menu is very overwhelming at first, because it was all written on a board behind the register. Since it was my first visit, I was trying to take it all in, which was tough. I ordered the Haitian mac and cheese with beef on top. The lunch special came with a drink and a side salad. This was just under $7, a great deal. The food was delicious, even though I get the feeling that the rice and beans are really the shining star at this place. I originally wasn't planning on eating inside because I didn't expect to see inviting seating. However the booths were calling my name so I decided to stay and eat. The service was very friendly and conversational. In my conversations with the employee, I learned that this is a mission restaurant, which means all the proceeds and profits go towards mission trips to Haiti. In fact, all of the artwork hanging in the restaurant comes from Haiti as well. This is absolutely a place I will visit again.

I have ate at Haitian Sensation many times and only have had one bad experience. Spicy pork with rice and beans is my go to! Lunch menu is where it's at! I live and work near the business and when I need a quick bite it's the easiest place! Call and order ready in 10mins! read more

This restaurant is amazing, and is authentic Haitian Food. The owner is an amazing guy who is helping out Haiti and his childhood village. Their food is great whether you eat there or take it home. Be sure to try the Chicken Rice and beans, and make sure to put the special house sauce on it! read more

Fantastic, authentic food and very friendly people who make you feel like family. Portions are quite generous. Not fancy, but a great meal for the money and it's food you cannot find just anywhere. The fish sandwich is incredible! One warning though, the Haitian cole slaw is very VERY spicy! read more

It's a shame that more people don't go to this restaurant. Seriously. The jerked chicken was really juicy and flavorful. Combined with the pasta, it was even better. It had a nice texture, too. And even though haluski is Polish, not Haitian, it was still excellent, with nice flavor, and not hard to eat. read more

Found this place traveling through Pennsylvania. Friendly staff- pleasantly surprised by the quality of food. Everything was amazing. The Haitian tea (unsweetened) is outstanding. The fish sandwich was perfectly seasoned and the bun was wonderful. The plantains were perfect and nothing that we ordered was greasy. If I lived near by this restaurant I would definitely be a regular - but will make a point to stop back in if I'm traveling near Sharon again. read more

We care for the dining experience of each of our customers individually. In doing so, we not only provide a great meal with a superb dining atmosphere; we actively involve our customers in the missions that God has placed on our heart to serve the people both in our local community and in the country of Haiti.

History

Established in 2014.

We started out as a small coffee shop located in downtown Sharon, simply serving great coffee, delicious pastries, and some words of love and encouragement. In a few short months, we incorporated Caribbean style meals into our business, and from there moved on to our much larger current location, accommodating our customers as they file in to enjoy all we have to offer.

Meet the Business Owner: Joseph A.

Our owner and proprietor, Joseph Altenor, began this little gem of a business with a dream and a mission. Joseph has a huge heart for people, both in our local community and in his home country of Haiti. For him, this business isn't about his own agenda. It's about his service to others and what he has to offer, and what God has blessed him with. The dream that we were founded on is that which provides genuine, authentic Haitian coffee and food to our local community here in the Shenango Valley, all while generating revenue to help our brothers and sisters in Haiti. Joseph has a heart for service, and that, coupled with the work that God has placed on his heart, means only one thing...big things are happening here at Haitian Sensation.

Best Food and Flavor I have EVER had! The owners and staff are absolutely wonderful! If you haveany food allergies they accommodate you explicitly! Their sumptuous flavors are rare, exotic and simply put: Out Of This World! We've traveled near and far throughout the US and abroad and found this GEM of a serious TREASURE at Haitian Sensation! Yes - you'll come for the best cup of Haitian coffee in western PA - but you'll stay for the pulled pork sandwich, Haitian mac n cheese & CUP CAKES!! Joseph isn't just an amazing chef (at cafe prices), he has a big heart. He's from Les Cayes Haiti and works at making his home town better with his proceeds. Could not find this establishment from the location within this app. Drove around the site three or four times and never did locate it. I'm not sure that it exists anymore. If it does it needs better signage! read more
