TL;DR: If you need a dog door at all, call Hale first, PERIOD! I had decided that I was going to try my hand at installing a dog door into the side of my house. I will say I started the process and realized I was WAY over my head and immediately (per my Wife's *Suggestion*) called the first company that looked good. Well, turns out I picked literally the BEST company/people for this! They got back to me immediately (On a Sunday!) and came out 2 days later to assess the damage. Turns out I was 'barking up the wrong tree' if you will as the area where I had tried to install it wasn't sufficient, which was my thought and honestly why I stopped in the first place. Zack suggested a few different options, the good/bad of each, and I decided to go with the sliding glass door dog door. Well, the glass was made and he showed up today to install it. (They called a few days ago to ensure I was Ok with moving the appointment back an hour to 9am from 10am. Just great customer service!) The install is absolutely perfect, it couldn't look better! I had seen pictures of what these could look like on line and what was installed is so much nicer I'm just beside myself! It looks amazing and Zack was just incredible. Also, important to note, not only do they make their own doors locally here in Colorado, other companies actually use their doors as well! Our Siberian Husky destroyed our screen door so we called Zach at Hale Pet Door to fix it. We were shocked when he came out the same day we called. We were even more shocked when he called the very next day to say it was fixed and ready to be reinstalled. Outstanding product and top-notch customer service. We bought the original door in 2007, and finally needed to replace the flaps in 2017. The door held up to heavy use by 3 large dogs (German Shepherds and German Short-haired pointer). I had called this company because I've never had a dog door and I was having my house remodeled. So the lady on the phone asked me about my dogs and their sizes etc she seemed very knowledgeable After going through questions she said I need an X large one and this is what we decided to go with. She took care of all of it start to finish thank goodness because I had no ideA! I paid over $500.00 for it and we had a professional put it in. It was great! We had it just one month over two years and already the rubber plates inside were half way ripped off across the top and the outside slate literally fell off! I called the dog place because the warranty is 5 years they seemed happy to send me anew ones BUT! I had to pay for Three year usage! Even though I had not had it three years! So I got my slats and low and behold they are way to little!!! I was a little disappointed but ok I called and talked to a Pat and I told her what happened and right away she said well that's what you ordered! I tried to tell her I didn't order it a lady there had ordered it for me and they sent me a large refill and I bought a Extra Large door! SO she insisted that we go home in the box and measure the refills which we i did and I called Pat back the very next day with them then she had to know which was 11" and which was 16"!!! Are you kidding me? 11X16 should be clearer to them that it's 11 Width by 16" Length. So we did that for her to ITS LIKE JUMPING THROUGH HOOPS TO GET WHAT WE PAID FOR!!!! I FINALLY HAD TO HANG UP ON HER SO I GUESS IM TOTALLY STUCK WITH STUFF I CAN NOT ISE HAVE A DOG DOOR THAT HAS NO RUBBER TO KEEP COLD AIR OUT and to top it all off I'm 65 years old and on oxygen and don't have the energy to fight for what I PAID FOR!! These guys are absolutely fantastic, will use them again in the future without question. Ordered a quality Hale Pet door directly from manufacturer choosing the screen door option. Installation appeared DIY, and I called these guys prior to ensure. They were great on the phone and offered competitive install rates if/as needed. Door arrived and my Anderson screen door was going to complicate DIY matters based on the attachment of the screen to the door frame. Prompted my call for professional installation. They picked up my screen door as these installations are handled at their shop. Their owner called the next day with concerns (same as mine), and I offered him the professional flexibility to get creative to make it work. He did just that, got creative on a Sunday no less, and now I have a wonderful looking and functional doggy door in my screen - exactly as I wanted and even sooner than they quoted. I've had Hale Pet Doors in my house for 17 years, and the doors themselves are very good. Not sure what happened to them, but the guy they had come out THREE MONTHS ago was a complete boob. After wasting 2 of those months waiting for this joker to become competent, I had their "best installer" come out. He measured wrong, and they had to re-trim the door to make it fit. He never offered to bring it back OUT, so I drove up there from Parker yesterday to find a "Closed" sign on the door, some kind of family emergency. Stuff happens, I guess... But I cannot help but get the feeling from fooling around for over 3 months getting a very simple door made (that I paid nearly THREE HUNDRED bucks for, BTW) that this outfit is very different from what it used to be. I wonder how dedicated one needs to be to accomplish getting a dog-door into their wall. In my experience, VERY dedicated, I would give myself 10 out of 10 stars for perseverance. I doubt I'll be that motivated if I need another one someday... EDIT: I took one star off. I CALLED them this morning to make sure they were going to be there (2nd day in a ROW I tried to get my door!) and Neal said "we'll be here until 4". I got there at 12:20 and there was a "closed" sign on the door, with a note that said "Running errands, be back at 2". WTF?!!! I called, the Denver office answered and they called Neal on his "private" number. He opened the door, I walked in and said "I talked to you TWO hours ago, do you think it MAY have been a good idea to inform me you'd be out for the middle 2 hours of the day?!". His response, "well, I didn't know WHEN you were coming"! Um, Earth to Neal, BEFORE 4, like you said was the time you'd be there!!! Very good, double (almost like insulated) pet doors. Just replaced flap after 10 years. They installed the door in glass, getting the glass made to replace the old glass in the French door. The only reason they aren't 5 stars is I wish they had some sort of collar device and electronic lock. read more

I some issues with appointments with the first installer (who was super nice, but new on the job), and Zach (owner/ manager) immediately made things right. He brought out his best installer and came out personally to make sure everything was installed timely and correctly. The pet doors themselves are excellent quality, highly recommend-- the double flaps keep the elements out. The quality of the installation is also top notch. We had a dog door cut into our glass door and cut lower into the door frame so our dog didn't have to step-- a difficult job but it didn't take long to install. We sought out a higher quality door than the commonly used pet door insert which isn't energy efficient nor very secure. We had a 15 lb dog and were adding a 60 lb dog to the mix so we wanted something that would work for both of them. I searched their website and was excited to learn that they offer a 10% discount on the cost of the door when adopting a dog and also donates 10% to the rescue which is exactly our scenario and awesome to pay it back. The measurements were taken timely and professionally. The glass was done prior to our quoted out time frame and the end product is impressive! Double flaps to ensure no air is leaking in and it looks and feel so much more secure. Had a small problem during install and Zach was quick to respond (prior to office evening opening) and even offered up his personal email and cell phone number to ensure the issue was handled. He gave me an accurate quote, showed up on time, told me how long the process would take, did a great and fast job with the install, and I am very pleased with the door (great quality and easy to use for the dogs). This is my second dog door that I am ordering from Hale Pet Doors in Greenwood Village, CO. My first experience was top notch and great. This time, not so much. I just moved into a new home and called to order the in the glass dog door. The tech came out on time, measured and said they would call me when the door came in. I left a deposit and they called on a Thursday and said it was in. First they said the guy can come in the next day and install it, I asked if he could come on Saturday. The girl said she would call me back, she never did. I called her and she said "she had to talk to her manager". Still no call back so I left another message today. It has now been a week and no one has called me back. I wanted the door for the July 4th weekend, but that doesn't look like it will happen, so I called again today and now they are claiming that they do not have the pet door. What a horrible experience. Very disappointed and would not recommend calling this location for your pet door needs. read more
