A lack of staff, ATM's and banking machines and a pretty old-fashioned feel of the store which is pretty small do counter into that, while also including the horrible opening hours where they not only open slightly later than average at 9:30 but they also close at 5 which is again slightly earlier than other banks, which is again frustrating to considering it isn't open on weekends. Not only was the store understaffed with little room for more staff at the counter, but service also seemed to move really slow and unlike other stores, there wasn't a separate and quicker queue to get pointed in the right direction perhaps with just a simple issue or query. 1*

There is nearly always a…read morebig queue with people paying bills, counting out copper jars etc. They give you the option to pay money into the little box on the wall but after the stories that you hear about stuff getting lost i'd rather wait in the queue. Disadvantage to this is that the cashier will then try to get you to upgrade your account when you finally get to the window! There is no parking outside the bank unless you have a disabled badge and the traffic wardens are always about so it's not worth the risk! So as a bank they are fine if you don't have to visit them!

This store seems to do the basics very well rather than introducing other stuff which leads to a lower standard of everything else. The account and product knowledge is also pretty good, and the opening hours of the store are also pretty good, being open on Sunday's and even having the longest opening hours (Until 4 pm) in the city during the ongoing Covid-19 crisis, a title shared with Metro Bank. The staff at the Bolton branch are friendly, professional and actively try and help you in any way they can. you never feel rushed, you're never inconvenienced. they're polite and attentive and actually make the dreaded trip into a branch of your bank not so bad afterall. the actual branch itself is of a decent size, well laid out and with a comfortable waiting area.

Lloyds Bank has two branches in Liverpool city centre, this branch is one of two alongside a…read moreterrible branch on Lord Street, this branch which is located next to Santander on Church Street fairly close to Ranelagh Street and Liverpool Central is slightly better. The opening hours are pretty much average being open mostly between 9 am and 5 pm Monday to Saturday, albeit they open half an hour later on Wednesday's, and close an hour earlier on Saturday's. The branch looks a lot larger from the outside than the inside, inside it is pretty small but they do pack in good facilities into a small area, there is a really small area devoted to digital and online banking, with two tablets, the area wasn't particularly modern, large or nice compared to other branches Lloyds have in the likes of Leeds and Manchester. There was however a satisfactory amount of ATM's, and a member of staff greeting customers (for some reason she ignored half the customers that walked in even when she was just staring into space or at her Ipad doing nothing - which included me) Decent bank location, pretty much average in most areas yet far from excellent or outstanding - A-OK sums it up and it is of course much better than many banks in Liverpool, especially compared to Santander next store (still not the best though!) 3*
