I wanted to help a friend remove a decades-old criminal record that was preventing him from applying for several jobs, so I called law enforcement folks I know and they all recommended the same firm: Hall and Gilliland. Kevin Strickland v.s. WA State/Chelan County Counselor: Timothy Hall Original Charges: 2 DV/3 DV Spousal Rape (felonies) Outcome: Dismissed without Prejudice. I was falsely accused and wrongly charged of crimes I did not commit. There was no evidence, just claims. We were divorcing/in a custody battle. I wanted custody. Sound familiar? It's called the Silver Bullet Technique and you can google it. I was arrested off of the street and held under the threat of prison and or being labeled a sex offender. For 8 months, I was saddled with a public defender. Her case file would later prove my suspicions right. She was walking me to slaughter/sacrifice. My public defender did more than anybody involved to secure a conviction for the state. She ignored evidence that would have proven me innocent at the time of my arrest and held onto that evidence until I fired her. She called a plea bargain a win-win situation. A guilty plea or compromise is never a positive to an innocent man - never. I fought. I refused to be a number on the stat sheet that gains big revenue to fight domestic violence crimes in the area. (Why else would they do this to me but for money.) I fired her and hired Timothy Hall of Hall and Gilliand. The first time I stood next to Tim was a completely different energy. Every appearance I felt stronger. We would walk in w/everybody watching, their files blocking the isles. He would step up and hand over a single file or just a piece of paper sometimes. Those on the prosecution who weren't paying attention to the case before, and expecting the 97% conviction rate due to plea bargains to run it's course, were scurrying about and those who were in the know knew. The gig was up. The prosecution dropped the charges without request and without prejudice after Mr. Hall put them on a slow-drip of facts. Tim did more in his first 2 weeks to help me than the Council for Defense and it's lame lawyer/ investigator did in 8 months. Their's was an abysmal failure and in my opinion just another sign of corruption. Needless to say, the prosecution let go of the case like a tick with a hot match on its ass. Bastards. Tim is far more than an attorney. The way he dealt with me at my worst moments was amazing. He answered my calls. He returned my calls. He talked me down. He talked me through. He advised me, articulated, 'dumbed it down,' repeated himself over and over. I was desperate. I reached out made eye contact and took Tim Hall's hand. I placed in it my trust. Today, I am forever in his debt. I had most everything material taken along the way. I feel that Tim did nothing short of save my life. While I was mistreated throughout my trials, and while I didn't earn custody, I did get treated very fairly in terms of overall visitation time. Family court was convinced the charges were unfounded but they did not call her on it. Consequentially, in his efforts Tim helped the family court determine that I was not a threat and as a result things are back on track and dare I say normal. If I ever need defense again.
