As a woman I've sometimes been slighted/not taken seriously in gun shops, and my experience here is the polar opposite: I was treated with respect from the moment I walked through the door. The prices were consistently $100 or more less than the prices for the same guns at Cabela's (I checked) and they had a policy where you could save $10-$15 more by paying in cash. I ended up with a lightly used rifle that's gorgeous and snagged it for $350 less than the list price.

The range looks fairly new and very well kept. I was the only one there so I pulled my truck up so I could light the range with my headlights. I shot for about a half hour or so, until after dark. I went past the crowd of Mennonites at the front door and asked the folks at the front if they could loan me a shovel or get someone from the grounds crew to move the kitty off to the culvert and off the roadway. Very sad. :( The store itself was very crowded and there were vendors offering demonstrations - some sort of hunting season was about to commence - but being an animal lover, I tried to get through that area as quickly as possible to camping. I could not believe how small their camping section was! Disappointed, the young men in the camping department pulled up inventory for the next Cabela's store on my route and confirmed that they did indeed have what I was seeking: a waterproof duffel for the back of my motorcycle. After the previous night's rainstorm - I was beginning to think that the single water proof stuff sack and using plastic bags inside stuff sacks would be an inadequate solution! As I left the store, I saw a young man on a golf cart heading over to the side of the road where the big black and white kitty lay dead. I went over and thanked him for helping out as he scooped up the kitty corpse and gave him a maritime funeral in the storm culvert full of high water and grass. I thought happy kitty thoughts in that cat's honor and hopped in my truck and headed east. Thanks, Cabela's Kearny, for honoring my request to help out with something that wasn't really your problem and being kind to that little animal at least!

They have several very decent options of everything they carry- I might not depend on this place for a wide Yeti selection other than cups and tumblers but they're not hard to track down. I would definitely not mind having one of these nearby at home--my bank account probably disagrees. We found a perfect Benchmade knife for over one hundred dollars less than Benchmade sells it for- which clutched a sale for the store. As well as a great price on a stocked ammo box. The place was clean and well organized and the staff was very friendly and helpful-- two things you definitely don't overlook in a shopping experience these days.
