For some reason I couldn't find this page to check in. I have been coming to this event for almost 17 years with only 2 misses. The change they made because of the pandemic turned out to be a good change. Instead of being in the cattle drive following a route with treat stations, you can walk around to what interests you. Characters interact with the kids and adults. No more treats but no one seems to mind. The last few years, I got an upgraded ticket for parking behind Eagle Tavern, buffet dinner at Taste of History, and train ride (too early for adults but perfect for kids). The staff really helps in making you feel welcome and cared for. I have been trying to get a hard to get Halloween at Greenfield Village T shirt but since I don't park out front, I don't go to the front gift shop. Talking to the staff at Liberty Works gift shop they knew there was just one left. A call and a staff relay got me that shirt. I have to use a mobility scooter now so doing that for me shows how much they care for visitors. It is hard to get tickets because of the demand. Members get 1st shot and sell out all Saturday and Friday slots the first day. If you want to do this, get a membership. read more

Parking was a bit tough because the closest large lot was closed. Lots of cops and security. Inside was an idealized Halloween event, kids in costumes, actors, snacks, spooky train and merry-go-round rides, shops. Different stages with acts, different vignettes. I've always loved Hallowe'en at Greenfield Village but the trick or treating walk through style, though fun for kids (who doesn't like to get candy??), felt rushed and not super engaging for us adults. You didn't really get to stop and enjoy the vibe, the displays, etc, since everyone was rushing towards the next candy check point. But all that is changed now, and 100% for the better in my opinion! This time around, gone is the trick or treating, and instead there are multiple food stands to enjoy and the grounds are completely open and filled with interactive displays, performances, costumed characters, photo opps, etc. It's much more like Holiday Nights and the experience is better for it. There's still all the stuff I've come to love like the old timey cartoons projected near the hot cocoa and cider stand, the lit up spooky covered bridge, the side show with fire breathers and such, the Sleepy Hollow headless horseman performance, and of course, all the carved pumpkins! But now I could enjoy it at our leisure. Loved being able to pop into the liberty craft works and watch some glass blowing and printmaking too. And I love the inclusion of the new Central Market as a hub for games, music, photo backdrops, and snack carts like mini donuts, popcorn and peanuts, hot cocoa and cider, and more. For more substantial bites you can head into a Taste of History or hit one of the food trucks like the soul food or BBQ trucks situated around the park. Kids may be disappointed they don't get some treats but I'll take the freedom to explore and enjoy in a nonlinear way over a small bag of 6-7 fun sized candies, any day. I hope they keep this format moving forward and continue to build upon it to keep it fresh! read more

NO CANDY, it baffles me why they got rid of the candy along the travel. They did this before covid and never brought it back. Other than that it was good. read more

Thrilled, Goblin'd and Wet!! LOL This is our 2nd year attending this "LIGHTS OUT" event!! For the Treats, you know the GOOD Stuff that comes in the orange Catch-Bags on the 31st of October!! and the Captivating Costumes lit up by the Carved Lanterns path.....You cannot beat it!! Sounds like a set-up to see?! Of course it is! LOL - From the sighting of the "Head'Less Horseman," who rides one night a year in the Hall'ows searching for a head...You've Heard the story...!! .....to the Vam'Pee 'Fanged' creature, who Got to Roam Free in the dark. Along with the really cool Fictional Characters for starters!! To Scarecrows winking and speaking [I think I was pranked] and "Jamin and Shakin" to the musicals and MUCH MORE!! ...even the newest attraction this year that was 'Clearly Suspect!' Umm, that SMOG-TUNNEL, walker-of-one!! I really must admit the "village" played too much adding this! I'll just say, "a little uncertainty for about 2-3 minutes." So spooky dark tunnels, with foolery are not my friend. Overall, was "Phun and Worthy of my Flashlight." Hahahah! Hallowe'en Nights has the Spookery Classics for All Ages!! What a fun activity for the fall holiday season! Hallowe'en Nights is a special feature event offered during the evenings on weekends in October. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online and includes the cost for parking. Tickets go pretty quickly so consider booking early online. The event is an outdoor event (no refunds for inclement weather) at Greenfield Village that involves quite a bit of walking. It makes things more convenient to buy tickets in advance and helps to avoid the purchase line. Upon entering Greenfield Village illuminated jack 'o' lanterns line the pathway directing your journey throughout a Halloween themed decorated village. There's only a hint of scare in some of the stops that makes the event fun but okay for kids and families. As you walk along there are decorated displays, interactive shows, costumed characters handing out candy to trick or treaters and condiments stands. The Taste of History restaurant is also open to guests and is serving hot cocoa, cider, snacks and even a few alcoholic beverages. The journey culminates with the final event of the night, which is a live version of a simulated headless horseman galloping along on his horse. It is quite an entertaining display. OK, this is one of my new favorite Fall events. First, walking through the Village is always fun. Doing it at night is even more fun. Doing it at night, alongside your girlfriend as you both sip spiked cider and see and hear spooky performances is the most fun. From the singing vampires and pumpkins to the dancing pirates (what was up with those costumes, folks?), we were treated to all sorts of different acts. The live retelling of Hansel & Gretel was spectacular. The sideshow act was entertaining as well. I really enjoyed the Wizard of Oz forest and covered bridge. All in all we spent about two hours in the park. I cannot wait to go back next year, and I'm definitely checking out the other holiday events at the Village. read more

Halloween event sucked. Walked miles and miles with nothing then a random staff member in costume. Boring and train ride was worse

Hallowe'en Nights is a ticket-only event that takes place on the grounds of Greenfield Village. It's when the village is transformed into a spooky, old-timey Halloween Night from a century ago . You trek thru the pumpkin-lit paths and see skits and plays, some humorous and some scary, all they while collecting candy from treat stations. The Grim Reaper, the Headless Horseman, pirates, etc., all make an appearance. This years' path was different than the past events in that they traversed the arts and crafts area as well as the residential streets. They have also added more vignettes and electronics for stronger scares. It's also better lit than in the past. People come dressed up and bring their kids in wagons and strollers so be careful that you aren't run over! It's better that you keep your costume minimal so you can move fast for treats. The Eagle Tavern and Taste of History are open if you plan on eating. Eagle Tavern has a ticket-only event that you have to purchase separately when you buy your tickets. read more
