An absolute disaster Eric was hired by the general contractor who is working on our house, following water damage. His task was to re-install an outlet on the side of a cabinet. After he was done, he said he noticed we didn't have the proper GFI outlets in the kitchen, and asked if we wanted them changed out for the correct outlets. We said sure - but neglected to ask about the cost - huge mistake. After he left, we received an invoice for $515 for 3 outlets. This was cost of the new outlet - standard GFI and then labor to change them out. Oh - we were also having trouble with a light switch, which he removed the cover and rewired. 5 minutes maybe. But look! For some reason we got the preferred customer discount. That's a bonus I suppose. When I texted Eric about the price, he said he was drinking and made a mistake (not kidding, I'll attach pictures here if I can) on the invoice, and would revise. What he resent was $56 dollars lower. He said he accidentally charged us for an outlet, that should have been charged to the general contractor. I sent a check for $300 to Eric, with a note saying this was a fair price. And I'm sure you can understand with someone of this caliber, that he called completely unhinged, demanding the remainder of his money and threatening small claims court. I've attached some of his responses here as well. Interestingly one of his comments were how he fixed my work in the hallway that wasn't done correctly in almost an accusatory tone. Yes, because I am no where near an electrician, and don't know what I am doing - as is 95% of the population. I was crushed. Just make sure to get a bid before work - this was an extraordinary circumstance where we didn't and really should have. But I would never recommend allowing this man into your home. read more

Eric, the owner of Halo, was scheduled to instal a ceiling fan in my son's room with a switch. He wired it to the existing smoke detector and added a double switch (there had only been the single switch). This project took 3.25 hours. He charged us $488. When we questioned how high this bill was he tried to blame it on me, the customer and said that I was indecisive and complicated the project by asking it to be wired to the switch. This is exactly what I requested when I had spoken to him on the phone when I hired him. When we requested he lower the bill he would not. If I had known he was charging almost $500 dollars to install a ceiling fan in a child's bedroom I would have never hired him. The only reason I trusted him to begin with was because an acquaintance gave me his name. If you want a very expensive electrician and want to pay an exorbitant amount of money hire Eric with Halo Electric. read more
