Unfortunately I have to write this review as I have to express that I feel I was deceived in my interaction with Halo electric. At first contact I was told that there would be a two man team for $ 140/ hr. not per manhour Which I was eventually billed. This was a surprise as one of the men was in training but still was billed at $140. Secondly, when I had called I explained one Of my needs was getting my boat lift to work again. After completion of their work I was told one side of the lift didn't work and that they don't work on boat lifts. They did get the power. Working out to the lift but that's not the purpose of hiring them. When I was out in the yard the following day I found that the cover plate had not been reinstalled on one of the junction boxes that were worked on. Another task was to figure out...never mind. I have had Halo Electric twice since I bought somewhat of a "fixer Upper" house in Port Charlotte. Both times they arrived promptly on time and were very pleasant and efficient. South gulf cove resident here, I had an antique light fixture that was a family heirloom that needed a special bracket to mount to the wall. I looked everywhere , H.D., hardware stores.....they don't make them anymore. Called a few electricians. Nothing....one told me he hated to recommend but look around and buy a cheap light fixture that may have the same parts. A friend recommended Halo I went in.....somehow they had this part in their Warehouse , it got installed.....the price was reasonable. Wife's happy, now I can be happy too hahaha. Halo did a quality job replacing our defective (Federal Pacific) sub panel in our condo. They did a detailed estimate, which was 50% lower than the nearest competitor. Josh showed up on time, was informative, did a nice job of labeling the panel in detail, and then neatly cleaned up the job site when finished. He had to cut into the wall to gain access, and he used a razor instead of a drywall saw, so it would be easier for me to patch later. I would not hesitate to call them first next time. We had Halo out this morning to wall mount 2 of our TVs. Rob & Zach did an incredible job. They were professional and very knowledgeable about the best way to mount them especially since one was on a cinder block wall. It required a bit more work. Turned out better then expected. Today, June 18, 2019 I had a follow up appt with Halo Electric who gave me a previous estimate of $270 for the work needed in correcting the lighting of my condo. Upon arrival and surveying what was needed to be done, the very kind service man said the estimate quoted to me did not include the bulbs and materials at an additional cost of $200. I simply asked for some type of discount to make me feel good and to compensate for their error in the estimate. I also drove 100 miles for this appt. As quoted by the owner of Halo, because the error was in good faith I would get nothing because of their error. I would have been happy with a $25 gift certificate for any future work!! I told the service man to take all his materials and leave without doing the work. I have seen a 10% discount on a Halo Electric for seniors and military. That is truly lovely....but nothing for me other than my anger how POORLY this was handled. I asked a businessman friend how he would have handled this situation and he said as an owner he would have at least called me with an apology. I will not be recommending Halo and owner, Josh, to anyone who asks me for a good electrical company in my area. What a shame. read more

Josh came by today for a variety of electrical mysteries to fix. He found and fixed every unusual wiring screwup made by the previous owners. Josh is extremely capable! I had three nonstandard and extremely in the holy moly category that were safety risks. Had a gfi outlet go bad. Called Halo Electric to repair it. They were able to come out the same day I called. Electrician checked gfi, determined it was bad and replaced it. While he was here, he also checked out the rest of our gfi outlets. Very nice gentleman and gave us quotes on a couple other items we need to take care of in future. Price, we felt was very reasonable. Will definitely have them come back for any electrical repairs and the two projects we have. read more

My wife and I have been using Halo's services for about 4 years to date. I thought I would share my list of electrical projects starting with our home renovation which required a lot of old and new wiring. A pool renovation with all new wiring, electrical panel rewire and replacement, home emergency generator transfer switch install and wiring, installed upgraded bathroom exhaust fans and has also added a number of outside electrical outlets around our home. I don't think there is any residential electrical job he can't do. Over the last 4 years Josh and his team at Halo have always showed up on the day and time scheduled and their pricing is always competitive and fare and I always get at least 3 bids before awarding a job. I can't say enough about Halos professionalism right down to coordinating city inspections if required. Their work is also very neatly and cleanly completed. Cody from Halo Electric came out to replace 4 ceiling fans. Our ceilings are 13 foot and he had to take down the old fans and then put up new fans that were large and heavy. He had no problem getting the job down and was quick, efficient and cleaned up afterwards. He also was very polite :) I will be calling Halo again for any future electrical projects! read more
