    15 piece Pork/Shrimp Siomai!

Have you seen the bright-colored green, pink, purple ice cream looking mini-shop, that in one week they will be at Pine Ridge in Middleburg and next, they will be showing up at a different Apartment Complex in Baymeadows and all around during some events at the 904? Halo-Halong (Literally Mix-mix in Filipino/Tagalog) Sangkap Pinoy Eats has the the ultimate summer dessert as the concoction of shaved ice, evaporated milk, sugar, banana, nata de coco, Pinipig (krispies) sago, Macapuno topped off with Jackfruit, wafer stick, Ube (sweet yam) and Leche Flan, Sí, it's the same one is Spanish ;) They also have other yummy take-out items. During our last visit, we ordered the Buko Pandan, made of young Coconut Pandan leaves, Tapioca Pearls and creamy milk served in a 16 ounce cup for $6.99. Oh yeah, it's got homemade Pandan Ice Cream glazed with Coconut Caramel too. We also tried the 15- piece Siomai, Pork and Shrimp Dumplings for $15 and Grilled Pork Belly with rice and side salad for $12.99. This was during lunch hour and we follow their IG page and saw their post the day before that they were going to be on the Southside by Baymeadows so lunch with dessert was set! Tip: Order ahead of time whenever they are heading near your area as they usually run out of the foodie goodies like we ordered. Oh, BTW 'Sangkap' means either element or ingredient as every bit of the quality condiments are served with gusto and no shortcuts and that is why they are the BEST in Jax and are there to put a smile on your face as everytime I see the Food Truck reminds me being a little kid growing up in the Philippines, though this time I gotta drive and wait patiently like an adult lol So come on and check out Halo-Halong Sangkap where everything is Delicious = Masarap :)

What's not to love about a cold speciality treat on a hot day?! I got the halo halo classic! Shaved ice with sweet milk mixed with all kinds of goodies: jackfruit, red coconut jell, shredded coconut, red beans, plantains, krispies, and my favorite part UBE ice cream. Next time I'll try something with mango ...if I can resist the ube. Fresh and delicious so much to love

Halo-Halong Sangkap, Pinoy Eats is a new food truck that rolled into business on Friday (4.16.2021), specializing in Filipino Cold Desserts like Shave Ice and Halo Halo. And what is exactly the meaning of Halo Halo? A Halo-Halo is a popular Filipino dessert made with mixed fruit, boiled sweetened white beans, milk, and shaved ice, typically topped with purple yam, crème caramel, and ice cream...just to name a few. The word "Halo-Halo" simply means "Mix-Mix" and it is commonly referred to the mixture of items used to make such dessert. And the mixture of items you can use and put into the Halo-Halo are endless. And once you get your Halo-Halo, the next thing you'd need to do is "Mix-Mix" and stir everything...then go on and enjoy. This a great treat to have, especially when the hot Summer months rolls around. To find them, you can follow this truck's schedules on Instagram and/or Facebook. Come and meet the friendly faces of this new treat truck and come and get some really yummy treats. #SupportLocal #SupportSmallBusinesses

We stopped by this food truck during a fall festival at my son's daycare. When I say this was probably some of the best shaved ice we have ever had, even the top where the color had faded down was flavored. The customer service was friendly and with a smile. They also had dumplings and pork belly. We didn't have any, they smelled delicious. I would definitely recommend this for your parties and events.

This place is legit! Love it! The owners are super nice and I love how they remember repeat customers. I've had the halo-halo bowl more times than I care to admit. You ask, Did I share? Suuuuuure :-) seriously why get a cup when you can get a giant bowl! I also love how they let you leave out the jackfruit. I personally don't like it so they just put a little extra of everything else which to me is great! Their buko-pandan is also really good! The maiz con hielo was ok. Not that it was bad but it just wasn't for me. If you LOVE corn and especially creamed corn then that's the dessert for you :-) The pineapple chiller is also really delicious! They also offer catering services. I wish I was planning a party big enough to cater their services. Wedding anyone? Quinceañera? Birthday? Once I have a party big enough I'll definitely plan on giving them a call! Seriously, rain or shine they are where they say they will be. Just give them a try!

Just an update since I've tried new items. The grilled liempo (pork belly) is sooooo good!! Halo halo is always on point, it's one of my favorite summer treats! The pineapple chiller is very refreshing on a hot day! I get excited every time they come to my neighborhood. Next time I will try the siomai! If you're in the argyle/Oakleaf area, check them out next time they come. They usually park at watermill by the pool area off of argyle blvd.

After our usual Thursday date night dinner, I asked my husband if we can go 'around the corner' to try a new location offering yummy Filipino dessert. Coming from Avondale (30 miles later) we made it to our destination. It was definitely worth it and my husband said I must have loved it bc I didn't even offer him a bite!

    Siopao

Loved this. Finally was able to catch them on the right side of town. The wait was well worth it. Five stars hands down on what they offer. Halo Halo and Buko Pandan were really good. Also the siopao was goood! The pork filling is very tasty. Of course I have to mention the great service they provide. Very friendly and they serve with a smile. If you dont know what halo halo and siopao is, ask Siri.

I can't judge them, since I just had one dish, the tapsilog. I though it was decent, and my wife liked it more, giving it a 7/10.

Snoballs are a part of my youth in Baltimore, and I've always wondered why Snoball stands aren't on every street corner in Florida. I thought I was seeing things, but I'm so glad it was real. Snoball stands are distinctly a Maryland treasure and Sno Vibes fully captures that atmosphere. I ordered a Skylite with marshmallow. As soon as I ordered that flavor, she asked if I was from Maryland and we had a wonderful conversation about our times back home. The snoball itself was a home run as well. The round ice balls is what sets this apart from your typical shaved ice or sno cones. They put in a ton of syrup. It was refreshing, delicious. I highly recommend you give Sno Vibes a try. It's a wonderful treat any day but on hot days, it's a treasure.

So I went to plan B: When at a food truck rally, all ways look for the trucks with the longest lines. There were a couple that were long but Manila seemed unusually long. A quick browsing of the menu made me realize why. Lumpia, Pork and Chicken Skewers, Pancit, no wonder. Not only did it sound good it smelled wonderful. We made our way to the back of the line. Wait wasn't painfully long as some folks ahead of us gave up and walked off. Patience is a virtue that will be rewarded. The guy taking orders at one point told us in line that they had to stop taking orders for 10 mins just so they could catch up on the orders already placed. Wow. By the time we got to the stand they had ran out of Adobo (pork stew) and the Lumpia entrees. Luckily we could still have lumpia as a side item which meant we couldn't get 7 but instead 3. Cool. I ordered the Liempo (grilled pork belly) Combo with garlic rice and lumpia. It took less than 5 mins before it got to my hands so they were cranking out some food. OMG everything was delish. The liempo was grilled to perfection. Usually anything grilled needs some kinda sauce over it. This needed none of that. If I could I would just order a platter of liempo and pop them in my mouth like popcorn, very tender and juicy. The lumpia was freshly out the fryer and was hot when bitten into, very good. The garlic was a nice compliment to the liempo. I was expecting it to be real garlicky but it was subtle and pleasant. I definitely enjoyed everything and will be returning to this truck in the future.
