Ms. Dinooshi was the one who showed me around, and she was very nice and understanding. Ms. Nee is always present and available to handle any issues that arise (none major, mostly coordination issues). What is noteworthy is that the kids always seem happy to go there and frankly, I know they will be taken care of very well. The teachers and staff are very vigilant about safety and always let me know when something happens (usually minor, thank goodness, like cuts or scrapes). Another cool thing is that they have music, art, Mandarin and a soccer class (I'm sure amongst others I do not know about), which is good for overall development. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about Montessori of Calabasas and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation!

We interviewed several other schools, but when we interviewed here - we knew this was the school that he belonged with. Right away, he felt very at ease with his teacher Ms. Navo. She has such a great disposition for working with his age group. She allows him to explore and be himself, but always takes time to acknowledge him personally, coaches him on good behavior, and treats him with dignity. We're so grateful for her! Little buddy was meeting all his cognitive milestones before starting, but in the past few months, he's far exceeded development standards for talking, counting, and general skills. The Montessori model has worked so well for us! (They taught him how to brush his hair, put on his shoes, pick up after himself, hold eating utensils, and drink out of a cup -which he refused to do before going. He now picks up all his toys at home no problem!) We love the Brightwheel app that they send us updates through, and they schedule so many nice enrichment activities. This place is worth every penny with how much they've given our baby. Our little guy feels so seen and loved just the way he is, and he's flourished so much with his friends here. It's a great environment to grow in!

We…read moreare so sad to be leaving and heading to TK because I am not ready to be leaving WHPS yet. Ms. Robin, the preschool director, is phenomenal. From our first visit to campus she made us feel welcome and comfortable. I was so impressed that she knew every student and parent walking around as we visited. To this day, she still knows everyone who passes through the gates of WHPS Collins. She is always available for questions, to discuss any concerns, is an incredible support for the teachers and is actively engaged with the school's programs and students' development. We first had Ms. Monica and Ms. Zulay and now have Ms. Kathy and Ms. Candy as teachers. They are INCREDIBLE. The teachers tailor their teaching styles and content to the students in their class and their interests. My daughter is an observer and the teachers have helped push her a bit outside of her comfort zone and she has grown so much over the past two years. There are a ton of extracurricular activities that families can opt into. We've done dance, Spanish, tiny stem, soccer, and tennis. We've also done the summer camp at WHPS. It is a bit of an extension of the school year but with lots of fun water experiences. There is a pool with a lifeguard and available swim lessons. The Parent Association Group (PAG) is highly involved. So many fun experiences like a Halloween parade and Snow Day as well as cultural celebrations like Lunar New Year and Holi. Also, the school is incredibly safe. Double entrance doors which is right in front of the director's office. Codes and sign-ins required by all. Great relationships with LAFD and LAPD who respond quickly if there were to be any concerns. Also, they do a number of drills that are age appropriate for the students. I know it can be scary to discuss drills at such a young age, but it is necessary. With so many preschool opportunities in the west Valley, we were in a bit of a decision paralysis until we got to WHPS Collins. It was an easy choice and we are so glad our daughter has had such a great experience.

Our son had a nanny until he was 18 months old, and while we knew he could benefit from more structure and socialization as a high-energy, outgoing little guy, I worried constantly about whether he would nap well, eat well, and receive the love and attention he needed to truly thrive in a daycare environment. We originally planned for a very gradual transition with a few weeks of partial days. By day two, his amazing teachers reassured me he was doing great and encouraged us to rip the bandaid off and try full days. They sent photos throughout the day and were always quick to respond whenever I reached out for reassurance or updates. To our surprise, our toddler eats and sleeps at school like a champ. He now runs into school each morning and is never quite ready to leave at pickup. When we arrive, he's usually dancing, laughing, and clearly so happy and fulfilled. I've also been incredibly impressed by the thoughtful programming and enrichment opportunities the school brings in--from special guests and themed activities to PGA events and other unique experiences that make each week feel engaging and intentional. Choosing this school has been one of the best decisions we've made for our family, and we truly credit his incredible growth and confidence to the dedicated teachers who go above and beyond for both their students and parents. Special thank you to Alejandra and Brianna for making our little guy so excited about school.

I felt comfortable dropping off my kids each day because it was clear that each teacher truly cared about my child. The teachers were great about communicating with us, and I felt like we could really partner with them on things like potty training and other developmental milestones that came up. (For example, one of my kids was a little delayed in learning to walk, but Ms. Laly was very calm and reassuring that he would walk in his own time, which he absolutely did.) When my other child struggled with transitions, especially moving to a new classroom or having a new teacher, Ms. Vanessa was incredible at finding ways to connect with him and really see him for who he is, not the behaviors that he exhibited at the time. I am so grateful to all the teachers and staff at CWS who were incredibly warm, welcoming, professional, and knowledgeable. The special events each year - Halloween parade and trunk or treat, craft nights, holiday show, open house, and graduation ceremony - were incredibly well done and provided a great opportunity for our family to get to know the entire school community. But the cherry on top? The monthly movie nights where we could drop our kids off for 3 hours in their pajamas for dinner and a movie so we could have a date night or night out with friends. This is truly a gem of a school and community.

Ms. Prabani, Ms. Namal, and the rest of the Woodlake staff literally transformed my son and revitalized his love for learning. He would come home with cool projects, and endless things to say about the program. More importantly, and every parent should relate to this, my son WANTED to go to school. As a fellow teacher, Ms. Namal's rigor is top-tier and necessary for this new generation of learners. Ms. Prabani, Ms. Shakya, and Ms. Cabrera are the real MVPs. They hold the young students accountable and truly want the young students to flourish. They have created an environment where my son felt safe, loved, challenged and inspired - every day! They all met my son where he was, celebrated his strengths, and helped him build the confidence that he lost. I love talking and communicating with my child's instructors - it truly takes a VILLAGE! Ms. Namal and the entire staff at Woodlake truly became trusted partners in my son's growth and development. I'm still in awe at how patient, kind and how much dedication they each poured into my son and our family. I'm not too sure which camp the reviewers below are speaking of. It seems that one bad comment…read morebelow made the owner ask his buddies to review. This camp was not what it was chalked up to be. Lots of money for not so much of what was promised. Both my kids attended this summer camp and my 11 year old was bored out of her mind as most kids were under 7 years old. My 8 year old said he didn't care for the camp also! The entire morning was just what the one truthful reviewer said below....it's just daycare. The problem is, is that I paid for summer camp....not day care. The activities and "fun" didn't begin until after lunch.....which was always the same two options. And by "fun"....I mean a trip to the Calabasas swim club for a few hours. If you are looking for a day care then, by all means, sign right up. If you are looking for a camp then I'd suggest going elsewhere.

If you are looking for a day care or an after school 'pick-up-from-school' option, then you came to…read morethe right place. Your kids will be safe and looked after. HOWEVER, if you are signing up for the summer camp....buyer beware! You will be promised a full schedule of fun, adventure, field trips and themes of the week.....but what you actually get is very little of each. Their Website promises non-stop fun and adventure for kids ages 3 - 13. Theme weeks, exciting field trips and swimming (beach/pool). Truth: 1. "Non-Stop Fun?!" Um....no. The entire morning is pretty much a day care. The campers are allowed to play with toys (Legos, dolls,.....under '5 year old' toys. Kids can bring their devices (video games, ipads, etc.....no wifi is given). 2. Theme weeks are promised, but not effectively executed. Example: One of the themes was Wild Wild West and the activity was to make S'mores. The counselors were instructed to take two graham crackers, one marshmallow and squeeze Hershey's syrup on and call it a s'mores! Gross! Another week there was supposed to be a "Silly Science Show" so the owner took a balloon, rubbed it on a kids head and said "Ooooh science!" Seriously?! 3. "Grouped by age"......well only if you are between the ages of 2-8, which was the median age for this camp. Anyone older would be bored out of their minds. 4. The "exciting field trips" were OK. Most trips were pretty short as the campers didn't leave the camp until after lunch so that the owner wouldn't have to spend extra money on food. No ball game as the above noted. Some trips were a short hike at a park or a few small ponies in the parking lot. Not exciting really. 5. Lunch is included in the price. Great concept if you are OK with your child eating pizza, hot dogs or turkey sandwiches daily. Kids got what the owner had time to buy. Not a huge complaint.....but a little more variety and some fruits veggies would have been nice. These same lunches were taken when they went on field trips. 6. The campers went to the Calabasas Swim club daily. This is a nice facility. Campers didn't leave until, again, after lunch. They were promised Wednesday as a beach day. Campers are given a choice between beach and pool (one counselor goes to the pool with kids and the owner goes to the beach with the one's who choose the beach.) Only on the first week did some of the campers go to the beach. And when they did, it was 8 kids to 1 owner (male). As a parent I'd be concerned if my little girl had to go to the restroom and an adult male needed to take her.......and then who would watch the other kids? That was the first and last trip they took to the beach the entire summer. After that trip, there weren't enough campers who wanted to go, so they scraped the trip (even if 3 or 4 wanted to go!). 7. The counselors were nice and seemed responsible. Although this camp has an 8 kids to 1 counselor ratio, which is a bit high in my opinion. All in all, take my comments above as you want. I won't be back to this camp and would not recommend it to my friends. For the price I paid, I'd expect what the name of the camp insinuates.....ADVENTURE! Not here.
