My daughter was nervous as to be expected and dealing with another health issue that made things more stressful. The entire staff went out of the way to do anything to help make it easier on her. They also took the time to explain every detail about her orthodontic needs and the plan for her. Which was important to us because we have no experience with braces. Appointment scheduling is quick and very accommodating to our needs and I feel like her care is important to them. I appreciate all of the different options for payment. Options like payment plans and monthly drafts from your flex care accounts make it so easy to plan for the cost.

Since we didn't get back to our dentist this year, we thought it would be proactive to also have a dentist here in the Raleigh area. My wife called to set up a general cleaning for the whole family. She was told there was a $99 "New Client" promotion which would cover X-rays and a basic cleaning. During my checkup, the hygienist recommended a deep clean. I told her that at this time, I would prefer to have a basic cleaning done and any matters of concern I would be bringing back to my established dentist. She then told me that unfortunately since they had recommended a deep cleaning, and I had declined, it was against their "quality standards" to only do a basic cleaning. Their price on the deep cleaning was $259. My wife was able to get her basic cleaning done without issue, though we found it interesting that the Dentist asked my wife if she had ever considered getting Invisalign braces. Only a bit odd since braces have never been mentioned to my wife by any dentist... ever. My 3yr old daughter had her cleaning done and it went fine. Everyone that worked at Dental Care of Fuquay was very nice. We brought our family and they really did try to accommodate us all. Unfortunately, I feel that I ended up wasting 2 hours of my busy day coming out when I could have stayed at home with my youngest. If your policy is not to honor your New Client price, then this circumstance should have been stated clearly in the new client paperwork. I have never been declined a cleaning and while you may call it "quality standards" it makes me feel like you are just trying to upsell services or bait and switch. I will not be returning and this situation has really turned off our family. My wife thought that I misunderstood and actually walked back in to question the policy. They confirmed that the policy was correct. They literally said to her "It is like going into the hospital with a broken arm and putting a band-aid on it"......... Do better Dental Care of Fuquay.

That was a lie. Told me I can either pay out of pocket or cancel my appt after I left work early unpaid to go to this appt, and I was told I would get the work done same day which turned to just Xrays. Which were already on file. A simple cap on a chipped tooth. Horrible horrible receptionists and she was too lazy to go through and find my insurance bc they ask 50 questions about mental health and none of their business for a chipped tooth.

I'm also giving it a 3 because this is the first bad experience in a long time here. Friday, my crown fell off. I left a message on their machine but the call was never returned, so we waited the weekend and called back on Tuesday. Tuesday we were told that they could get me in as an emergency that day. When I asked for the Valium like normal and nitrous I was told that no one was there to write the Valium and the doctor was not cleared for nitrous. They called the other Fuquay clinic and was able to get me in with Dr. Hines Wednesday at 12. We asked or Nitrous and Valium. They said Dr. Hines was off and there wasn't anyone to write the Valium but they assured me nitrous would be available, and they would send a note to Dr. Hines to have it called in. They called back a little later and said there was a cancellation at 9 and asked if I could make that apt. I said yes, and again asked if there was nitrous for that visit and was told yes. Wednesday (today) I get to the dentist and I asked the lady who checked us in to please let Dr. Hines know that I was not pre-medicated and again checked on the nitrous. I was then told that it was ok that I wasn't pre-medicated because she was only looking at me, not putting the crown back on, which we were NOT made aware of when we scheduled the apt. Also, I felt like I was being dismissed because why would I need sedation to walk into a dentist office? I've had Valium for 20 years to just walk into a dentist office. I am not like most people, I'm not "scared" of the dentist, I'm TERRIFIED. So much so that I can't really know when my apt is, my husband gives me the Valium and that's when I find out I have an apt, that TERRIFIED. I get in the room and they do X-Rays, again, I need pre-medication for all of this, but it was ignored. Dr. Hines comes in and examines me and then says that Nitrous wasn't available for the visit. I'm not pre-medicated as I asked multiple times for and I don't have nitrous available as I was assured at least 5 times. Because it's Dr. Hines and I trust her, and ONLY her, I let her do the apt, non-medicated. She walked me through everything that she did, she comforted me. But when she had to do the bite and the drill machine came on, I started shaking uncontrollably. My husband was having to calm me down and help me slow my breathing because I was close to having a panic attack. Dr. Hines, being amazing, gave me the time that I needed to calm down, cemented the tooth and then walked out of the room. The hygienist who worked with her, was also amazing. She was cleaning up the tooth and walked me through every single step. They showed me more empathy and compassion than anyone else in the office today did. The ONLY reason I will continue here is Weenie, who does the teeth cleanings, and Dr. Hines. I have been coming to this office for over 20 years. I have only had 1 or 2 bad experiences in those 20 years. But if it weren't for Dr. Hines today, I would have walked out and found another dentist who does full sedation so I don't have to be anxious and worrying walking in to the office going forward whether or not I have the medication that was requested and the procedure is what I scheduled. How do you trust the front desk going forward?

So I called them Friday when I got back for a Monday appt and the woman told me it was cancelled. I could have clicked confirm on a text but that doesn't work in there office apparently. Not going back there and everyone should avoid them with this new office nonsense.

I have a job that my scheduled changes all the time, so it is impossible to make an appointment sometimes and be able to keep it. I have done the responsible thing and have called ahead to let them know I can't make it and to cancel the appointment or reschedule. This last time, my husband made the appointment for me on 10/31/11 at 6 pm. I get off of work at 6 pm and it would've taken me 20 min to get to the appointment. I called earlier that day and let them know and they said, "If you are going to be running more than 10 min behind, then we won't be able to see you." I understood, because I've worked in Medical Offices before, so I let her know to just cancel and I'll call back and reschedule. She got very belligerent and said, "This is your third time rescheduling. If you keep doing this, then we won't be able to see you again". Which I also understood, so I decided to take my business elsewhere. A month later, I get a letter in the mail telling me I owe $50 dollars to them for my cancelation. Now, I'd be ok with that if I hadn't given them the respect to call and let them know of me dilemma. I don't have a name who I spoke to, but she was pretty nasty and I'll never use their services again. I hate that because I loved the other staff. The front staff needs to do better - and this is coming from a Practice Manager myself.
