Knowledgeable staff and a very good range of equipment. I went there to take a gym instructors course and was impressed.

Its functional and thats all I can say really, could do with an update as the equipment is pretty old fashioned and tired looking compared to other gyms I have trained at. The carpet is very tatty and ripped in places, the showers are not great either, pretty grubby and remind me of the showers at school. This is a male dominated gym, no females to be seen which is a bit strange nice to have a even mix of people in a gym. In need of refurbishment. read more

Very good, clean gym with a massive range of free weights and machines. Run by lifters and bodybuilders for people who appreciate a realgym.

History

Established in 1990.

Stuart has been Managing Director of Hamiltons Health and Fitness Ltd since 1990 and formed Hamiltons Training with his partner Catherine Wass in 2008. Stuart has been a British Champion bodybuilder and powerlifter as well as coaching national and international champion bodybuilders, powerlifters and weightlifters since 1990. Catherine started her career in fitness in 1982, by teaching exercise to music classes and after gaining her degree in Fitness and Health from UEL in 1997 became a personal trainer. Catherine has coached national and international champion weightlifters, powerlifters and bodybuilders for over 15 years as well as being a World Champion powerlifter herself in 2002. Catherine has just completed her post-graduate teaching qualification and tutors and assesses YMCA CYQ courses, and is also group activities manager and heads a sports injury clinic at Hamiltons Fitness Centre.

I think it must have been nice when it opened, but they seem to have been scrimping on keeping it…read moreup to date. No help was offered and I got fed up with being sold to by personal trainers, when I already knew what i was doing.
