Long but hopefully helpful review. It pains me to leave this bad review to a local nursery. I've worked in the landscape industry for ten years and I have never left a bad review in my life. This experience was so uncomfortable and avoidable and so serious that nothing could convince me to go back to this nursery. The one that is a few miles from my forever home! On 2/12 I purchased a Monstera adansonii plant for $27.00 and a $22 ceramic pot to plant it in for my kitchen that I just remodeled, and this was a treat. When I bought it, it looked like it had some issues. Some yellowing and easy breakage but it was the only one that had long vines and that was the aesthetic I was looking for. I repotted using the same methods and products as another plant I purchased from them that day (they are thriving and doing well). A few weeks in the plant was a disaster. Looking awful. I tried moving it, nothing seemed to work to make it look better. By the time I brought the plant back to Hammock Gardens on 3/20 it was brown and in bad shape. I figured these were reasonable people and I decided to take it in for some help. I walked in and was immediately met with the man who is always there and told him my problem. He looked and said he would go get the owner. When he came back the owner was speaking with another client and while we waited, he said "I would just get a replacement". I wasn't aware of the return policy as I was not trying to return it. I wanted some help, maybe some fresh soils, or anything other than what I got. So the owner walks up and says that the plant was definitely not dead but if she repotted the plant and cut it back removing the dead pieces then it would be left pretty bare and she suggested a replacement as well. After hearing the word replacement now twice I thought to myself "Wow great customer service" because I thought that I originally might have bought a sickly plant to begin with. So, she goes and picks out another plant that was half the size of the original $27 plant that I bought (hey no biggie they are making it right) and she goes and repots it and brings it to me. I say "thank you so much, yay, you are the best" and walks off. Neither him or the owner ever said anything about purchasing the new plant. I thought it was a replacement. I walk around for a few more minutes and know that they are closing so I go get in my car to leave. The male employee that I have been working with very rudely walks up to my car and alarms me with a loud knock on my window and a very rude "ARE YOU GOING TO PAY FOR THAT" . I was stunned. I started shaking at the thought of him thinking I was a SHOPLIFTER! I couldn't believe it. I replied "I thought a replacement meant just that. I didn't know I was the one replacing " He then motions me to go and pay for the plant. I go inside and pay the $17 the owner asked for. I have no idea if that was the original cost, if that was a discounted price, or what, because neither of them communicated that with me. I was humiliated and chased down like I am a shoplifter. I mean seriously, I came in with a $50 plant/planter combo that you can clearly see that I purchased from you because the price tag of the overpriced planter that I so happily bought was still attached. This is what blows my mind. THEY KEPT THE $27 "not dead" PLANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE ONE THAT WAS SICKLY LOOKING. So they will likely rehab it and resell again to another sucker. If I bought a whole new plant why not give me the one that I was paying to replace? None of it made sense. I surely didn't go in looking for a replacement I was simply offered one. I will never again shop here. Went in for potters' soil and came out with humiliation and shaking from being confronted at my car like a criminal. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I just want to say that Janine took my call late on a Saturday afternoon and quickly took my order, had her designer produce a beautiful arrangement within minutes, and delivered the flowers to my friend's home within an hour. I looked on Yelp for florists in Palm Coast. Hammock Gardens did not have a lot of reviews, but the ones posted were all favorable. I called from Ohio to send flowers to a sick friend. Janine answered the phone at Hammock Gardens as was so helpful! I placed my order and at my request, Janine sent me a copy of the receipt and photo of the flowers. So beautiful and just perfect for my friend. The delivery was scheduled for the next day and Janine had a hard time reaching my friend for delivery! Janine kept me in the loop throughout the day. Cold called Hammock Gardens from New Jersey earlier this week,hoping they would be able to send a birthday balloon bouquet to my 12 year old granddaughter who is on vacation in the area. I coudn't have been luckier! Janine was pleasant,helpful,and knowledgeable. She went above and beyond expectations. We decided (upon her suggestion) that she would put together what she called a "junk food" basket with a few birthday balloons. She reviewed every item she would include to make sure it was something our granddaughter would enjoy. The morning of the delivery I received a text, including pictures of the finished product, which was beautiful. By the way, back on the first conversation, i was asked for a budget, which was definitely respected. Michael did a knockout job for all of my floral arrangements and bouquets for my wedding day. My bouquet was STUNNING and huge. He listened to all the ideas my mother and I had and perfectly executed them. My bridesmaids also had very full bouquets that doubled as table arrangements at the reception. He delivered to multiple places the day of the ceremony (church, grooms room, bride's house, reception) and even did a fun arrangement the night before at the rehearsal dinner. I paid Mike at Hammock Gardens $1500 for a landscape and irrigation plan for my (to be constructed) new home.This a plan that would have to be approved by my HOA. Mike was aware of the HOA requirements which are available on their website. The plan was rejected twice by the HOA and required correction. I also made an early change as Flagler County Building Department required that my equipment screen wall be removed from the drainage easement, this required that the home would be moved 3 feet to the South, this only affected the width of the grass area but not any plants. My wife and I met Mike on several occasions to review his progress and request some plant material changes. On Friday I went to collect the plan with the HOA required changes. Although I made an appointment to meet Mike to collect my plans when I arrived, on schedule, he was not available. His wife met me and presented me with a bill for $910, a nearly 61% additional increase. I was shocked and told her that at no time, to include meetings and phone calls was I informed of any increase in my pricing. She called Mike who came into the office area and proceeded to shout at me. He said that he does not work for free, I do not consider $1500 to be working for free. I also told him that I had an offer for the same work from Verdego Landscaping at $650 but used Hammock Gardens as a friend strongly recommended them. Mike continued to shout at me, I pointed out to his wife that I was not shouting and she merely nodded. Mike then stormed off. I stood there an told her that at NO time was there any mention of a price change and that should that have been the case then I should have been informed of this and the new pricing. She agreed with this statement and countered that Mike had put a lot of effort into the plan and that I had been done a favor in him agreeing to do my landscape plan. I repeated that any change in pricing should have been discussed and that a 61% upcharge was unacceptable and I did not consider my $1500 a favor.Mike suddenly reappeared and immediately started shouting at me, again saying that he was keeping his plan and that I could sue him if I wanted.
