The Hammond Center for Assisted Living in Grinnell, Iowa has been a Godsend for our mother. She moved into the Center in November and loves the facility. She said "They treat me like a Queen!" The socialization she gets daily is exactly what she needed. They are served 3 meals a day in a lovely dining room setting. She often sits and visits for an hour after her meal. They have structured activities every day by their Activity Coordinator, which may be crafts for them to do or some sort of group participation activity. They celebrate and decorate for every Holiday to the fullest extent. It is a beautiful facility and always immaculately clean. They have a gym downstairs with a walking track and some equipment that is for use during their therapy session or on their own time. They also have a large kitchen area for family events and movie room downstairs available to all residents. Sammi Bryan is head of the Center and she takes special interest and personal interest in every resident she has. She gets to know them personally so she can help with their daily needs and desires. She makes them all feel like they are at home there. The place has been a lifesaver for my mother and I would highly recommend it for anyone considering Assisted Living. I can not say enough good things about the facility and all of the staff. They all are very genuine, caring individuals and you can tell they enjoy their job and the residents they care for. Hammond Center in Grinnell, Iowa has made my Mom's transition to Assisted Living so smooth. If you are looking for a home-like, secure sanctuary for someone you love, I highly recommend checking out this outstanding care center. I live 800 miles away and I trust them completely to care for my Mom. Though I wish I was closer, I have confidence and peace of mind that comes from seeing the Manager/RN Sammi Bryan and her staff take loving care of the residents in this beautiful facility. All of the staff are professional, efficient, capable, and organized. At the same time, they are attentive, kind, and patient. My Mom has dementia. It is touching to see how they include her in activities and treat her with grace, patience and respect. She is encouraged to participate and allowed to live with dignity and independence. Mother's move to the Hammond Center in Grinnell, Iowa has been the best ever. She enjoys the wide variety of activities and socializing. Abby, the Activity Director, does a terrific job and is sure to include everyone. Sammi, the RN/Manager, is always quick to listen and take care of any questions and needs. She never makes a person feel like a bother and she is always so very thoughtful, not only for my mother but the family, as well. The Fitness Director, Kayla, is such a happy person to be around. Mother says "Kayla always smiles, and is very patient as she attempts to keep exercising." Kayla has a supervised program for everyone that would like to try to keep in shape. Mother truly loves living at the Hammond Center and I love seeing her even more happy. My Mom moved into the Hammond Center in September. Everyone there has been wonderful. It's never an easy decision to make but Sammi and the entire staff have gone above and beyond to make Mom and Dad feel welcome. The staff is very accommodating and do whatever they can to make Mom feel at home. The building is very clean, inviting, and safe but the people make it special.
