Another win for Hampton. Sooooo rarely does the Hilton brand disappoint! The front desk service was good the room was nice and everything was perfect for a good nights sleep. The room was set up with dark wood furniture and the tv was on the side wall but swung out on an arm so you could see it from the bed. The shower was hot and had good water pressure in the morning. What more do you want for a one night stay... and it was all at a decently affordable price.

Hamp yourself a merry little xmas

I don't mean to Hamper your progress in finding a hotel, but I am going to Hampton your progress by telling you this is a good place to stay. This is a great Hotel at the casino in the middle of Nowheresville, Kansas. You expect middle of nowhere hotels and casino hotels to be iffy, but if you could believe it, this one is really nice. It's not cheap, especially considering you're in Nowheresville Kansas (I already said that) and the casinos should do some sort of subsidy because if they want people playing at their tables then it would make sense, but anyway, it's still a great Hotel. I didn't pay for this particular room, but the girl that did and I had a great time.

Clean room with plenty of space to move around. Nice that the bathroom sink is outside of the shower and toilet area. Because of the casino next door, parking lot is huge but be prepared to walk a bit either inside or outside to get to a room.

Bathroom Vanity at the Hampton Hilton and the Hotel provides Neutrogena Bath Products -- which I LOVE!!

Hubby and I went to the Hampton Hilton Suites for our 5th Anniversary. We decided about 2 months ago that we would try this Hotel & Casino and there were 4 Restaurants inside the Casino. The Hotel Staff was friendly and efficient. The Room was STUNNING!! The Room was Spotlessly CLEAN and just Perfection!! The Check In Hostess Kelsey gave us choices of a Room and we chose the 'quieter' area. We checked in -- unloaded our Luggage and then put our Champagne in the Frig. We tuned in the TV and found a 'Law & Order' Marathon with episodes that we had never seen!! After 4 pm, we went downstairs to their 'Kitchen Buffet' for an early dinner -- then walked around the Casino. When we returned to our room -- we got into comfortable clothes and kicked back in our Seating Area with glasses of Champagne!! We decided to just pop some Popcorn and continue to watch the TV when suddenly the Smoke Detector started BEEPING. Hubby called the front desk and they said that someone would be up to our room in a couple of minutes. In less than 5 minutes there was a knock on the door. The Smoke Detector was serviced and they left. SO efficient!! Hubby and I repeatedly commented about how Beautiful the Room was!! The view out of our 2 Windows was of a Rural area in Mulvane, KS. Everything about this trip was Awesome and we will certainly return.

I was informed that early check-in wasn't available, and my room wouldn't be ready until 3:00 PM. While this was unexpected, especially after staying 14 nights at IHG properties this year, I understand that availability can vary. However, upon arriving at 2:50 PM, I was told my room still wouldn't be ready for another 20 minutes. This is frustrating, considering your policy charges guests for late check-outs, yet check-ins aren't held to the same standard. What made the experience worse was the attitude of the front desk clerk. Not only did she fail to acknowledge my Platinum status, she seemed irritated by my presence and appeared eager to leave. At exactly 3:00 PM, she walked out the door with her purse, leaving me standing there. The next clerk also didn't recognize my Platinum membership, though I finally received my room key around 3:15 PM. We had to rush to our destination as a result, leaving the hotel by 3:25 PM. In the lobby, I noticed two other families still waiting for their rooms. As a retired Customer Service Executive, I can honestly say I've never been treated this poorly at any hotel. If any of my employees had behaved that way, they would have been dismissed--unless, of course, the company culture condones such behavior. I will not stay at this location again. Unless I receive a satisfactory response, I intend to share this experience across all social media platforms I use. I would appreciate it if someone could explain how a Platinum member with over 170,000 points ends up being treated like an inconvenience. "Below is the response I received from the General Manager. Instead of helping, it only made me feel like an inconvenience. What I took away was, 'Yes, we made a mistake, but you'll just have to deal with it.'" Hi Mr.Ortiz, We do apologize for your experience you had, but an early check in is not guaranteed especially if the property was completely sold out the night before. Yet a 3pm check in is and I will work with my staff so this type of issue will be addressed.

My son has spec, needs and we had booked it because of the indoor pool. I only had a certain amount of money to spend for this time, we were visiting relatives and very excited to see them! If the manager had not helped us we would have not had the super time of sleeping on superb sheets in a very clean room, swimming inside and eating breakfast the next morning (they go all out making sure he had anything diet wise that he needed) My son loved every minute and was so happy to talk with the sweet ladies at the desk. They gave us going home travel sacks with bagels and creem cheese and an apple! I felt so blessed and they were easy to ask questions of. The whole time was very different from any place I had stayed in Kansas over the 20 years of visiting family there, not even near the same! We have been to at least 6 different hotels in Wichita , Kansas. Those others were terrible in comparison. I will be back to Hampton Inn Derby, can't imagine going to any other place now! I have photos of the beautiful room and pool, just forget to take them without my son in them. You can go online and the pictures don't do it justice! Really nice and peaceful! Last time we stayed at a hotel in witchita the water in the outdoor pool was green and stank, then a man off the street came up and propositioned my son!!v I was terrified- that was right by the aiport, worst place ever! Any positive reviews (which is why we booked) have got to be bots or bought. We got to the room and the door was propped open, the gentleman at the front desk said it looked clean and it was the only room available. While none of what happened was his fault the sanitary factor is highly in question. There was dirty stuff marks everywhere, broken tiles, the bathroom door was gross and didn't close, there was no working tv/ cable, they ran out of pillows, and there was dirt everywhere. Let's not bypass the gaping hole in the ceiling by the elevator or the parade of dirty doors and noxious smell. Please please do not stay here it was really unsanitary and uncomfortable. Save your time, stress, and money. We have always strictly stayed at IHG hotels but this was the straw that will cause us to look elsewhere. The fact that they have people pay to stay in these rooms should be embarrassing to holiday inn. When we tried to call holiday inn to for a complaint they were less than helpful hung up on us 3 times and said someone will call you back. I won't hold my breath. For starters when I stayed there the guy who worked in the office Sid at first he was pretty nice but the longer I stayed there the worse he got. This girl Jennifer stayed there and she was always calling my room demanding I give her rides all over the place and when I'd tell her no or I couldn't shed call sid in the office and sid would call my room to tell me I needed to give Jennifer a ride and when I'd stop answering my room phone sid and Jennifer would call my cell phone and sid would tell me that Jennifer is in the office waiting so I'd tell him good let her keep waiting it's the only thing she seems to be good at is waiting for everyone else to bow down to her and do what she wanted them to do. She even went as far as keying the hood of my car once when I refused to give her a ride to Walmart and surprise surprise sid said there was no camera footage or proof that she did that but the key marks weren't on my hood before that day and then he started walking by my room standing outside my door to listen to my conversations when I'd have company he'd watch my room all day and night and anytime I'd have someone over he'd immediately call my room after they left to tell me where they parked their car what they were driving and to ask who they were why they were there in my room why they were in my room for as long as they would be there and what did we do while they were there and when I refused to tell him any of that and told him that I paid for that room it was none of his business to ask me those questions and it was an invasion of my privacy he would scream at me telling me that it was his motel and he could do whatever he wanted to do to whomever he wanted to do it to and that I didn't have the right to any privacy and there aas nothing I could do about it then he placed a camera above the door of the utility closet which was located next door to my room and he pointed it and faced it directly at my room door and anytime I came or went or I had company or any sort of visitor he'd call my room to question me about it then when I confronted him on the camera and him watching my every move he again told me that it's his motel and he can do whatever he wants and there's nothing I could do about it. And if you ask me it was all because I wouldn't engage in sexual relations with him like Jennifer did on a daily basis. It's funny how everyday around 11 am checkout time you'd see sid like clockwork go into Jennifer's room empty handed and 10 minutes later come walking back out empty handed claiming he went in to fix something. First of all you can't fix something without tools and or supplies or parts to replace the broken stuff he needed to fix! Anyhow because I wasn't like Jennifer I got treated like the trash and spoke tolike trash he even allowed his other front desk staff guys to speak to me like theyd lost their minds and allowed them to scream at me and didn't say anything to them when one of them literally forced his way into my door and room when I went to shut my door on him cause he wouldn't stop screaming at me and threatening to call the cops on me for absolutely no reason! To rate this place 1 star is an understatement but it's the only choice I had because I'd much rather give it a negative 20 stars but there's no option for that. Every day sid made it his mission to totally belittle me disrespect me and constantly making me feel like it's my fault he treated me like that. Had me in tears nearly every day I stayed there. If you want my advise you'd have a better stay and far better accommodations and far better treatment if you slept on a street corner with one of the homeless guys living on the streets. Run for the hills don't even waste your time money or sanity by staying here. You will regret it.

Worst Hotel Experience of My Life:…read more I was on the BART airport train, within minutes of the SFO airport to fly to Wichita. Then I got a call from the hotel. They said the main water pipe had broken and that there was no water in the hotel, so anyone coming to the hotel would have no water for showers, baths, toilets, sinks, coffee-makers, etc. The problem was that I'd gotten an amazing deal on that room that can't be replicated. Also, the rooms downtown are usually more expensive than the hotels at the perimeter of the city. Downtown is the only walkable part. The reason being downtown mattered so much to me is that I'm unable to drive due to being on too many medications, so it was downtown or bust for me. The Wichita transit system is so primitive that it doesn't even run at night; so if I'd gone out to dinner downtown, there would be no way back. The bottom line was that anyplace but downtown would have meant I'd have had to spend another fortune on Uber to get anywhere. Of course, other people know all this, so the downtown rooms tend to sell out quickly, leaving only the most frightening hotels to rent from. So now I was being told, as my train rushed to the airport (in fact I was still on the phone with the hotel as I entered the airport) that not only was I losing my place downtown, but the nearest decent rooms still available with no notice were clear on the far eastern side of town where most transit doesn't even reach and where, again, it would be all Ubers to get home at night. Neither the hotel nor Uber did anything to try to get me a similar deal, but both said that I'd have to cancel the first deal, hope a refund would eventually be issued, on faith; and then pay the completely unreserved, new rates, for a good downtown hotel while arriving at midnight; and that would have been an additional thousands of dollars I didn't have. So the whole vacation was lost as there was no way I could show up at the Wichita airport at midnight with no way of knowing where I would stay, especially since I didn't have a car. And I can't imagine what it would cost to have Uber driving me around as I frantically got on the booking app or called hotels asking for a miracle deal without any notice. My airline was a non-cancel flight; so although I eventually got my money back for the room, I'm paying $430 for a flight I never got to take. Again, I would have went through with the trip if the hotel or Expedia had guaranteed me a similar price for a similar room in a similar location. But they just insisted that I go onto the app and shop around as if the old deal had never existed. So they wouldn't do anything for me, and, furthermore, in the middle of the night I was expected to go hotel shopping with no car, or by paying private cars with no way of knowing where the total costs would have ended up. So, other than a refund of what would prove to be a fraction of the amount I'd need to cold-book a same-night reservation at the most expensive part of the city on a crowded night where things were selling out - - they just offered no help. So I was dumped with no recourse available to save my trip. So weeks later I'm still paying, and will be paying, for this $430 in airlines I never got to take, not because of the airlines, but because of the hotel and Expedia not being able to come up with a way to save my trip. So I lost the trip I'd been dreaming of and was left with a $430 bill to pay. I have never been through such a thing in any of my travels.
