We stayed in room #116 PROS- *newly remodeled hotel, clean rooms, decent breakfast, a lot of TV channels, pleasant staff, convenient location. CONS- This is why I have 1 star! *NO HOT WATER IN THE SHOWER AND NO WATER PRESSURE!!! The water got barely warm. I showered first and thought maybe there would at least be hot water when my husband showered, however that didn't happen. The pressure was so low we had to stand with our bodies nearly touching the shower faucet handle to even be in the water. We were colder when we got out of the shower than when we got in. After a 7 hr drive in some bad weather conditions we were looking forward to a nice hot shower, that didn't happen. We did call the front desk to report the issue we were offered a different room however it was late in the evening, we were tired & already settled into this room so we did not switch rooms. * The bed was too hard for our liking. Hampton Inn's used to all have pillow top beds. That is not the case in this hotel. *We paid almost $160.00 for the night, we expected better! A hot shower with decent water pressure would have been nice. We would NOT stay here again, due to the above issue. If you choose to stay here, check your shower before settling into your room. read more

Only 3 stars because although the room AC is working perfectly, the common areas are without cooling in late July. We're mentioning this to staff. We were told it's been this way all summer and they're waiting for a Part. So the front doors were kept unlocked and wide open in an attempt to get some air in. But these let in a ton of flies. You need to do better than this Hampton. read more

Conviently located off I-80 at US 220 in Lamar to the East of State College PA. I have stayed here a couple times. The rooms are clean with friendly staff and ample parking. Quick, hassle free checkin. Beds are extremely comfortable with firm mattresses. Internet provided a solid uninterrupted connection. Room entry is nicely tiled, but I'm trying to figure out why the bathroom tile is so damaged. Toilet is running. Unfortunately the hotel is a little beat up and noisy. A lingering issue from oil and gas exploration. Noise is internal from elevator and hall. Hum also evident due to close proximity of I-80. Room has a smaller TV, ok microwave, and not so cold fridge. It's 20 degrees tonight outside and the heat worked fine. 3-1/2 to 3-3/4 stars. read more

The hotel is easy on and off of the highway. It's a 30 minute drive from Penn State. Good place to stay for games and not have to pay a ton of money. Easy access to east football parking lots. Clean room and free hot breakfast provided before you leave for the game etc starting at 6am. Property isn't that nice on the outside and could use some upkeep And renovation but it's fine for a cheap stay for football games etc. read more

The hot tub shows up in the pictures on the app but it is no longer working. Our vehicle and other vehicles were broken into one night. Our truck was parked right in front of a security camera and a second camera was nearby. None of the security cameras were working when the State Police investigated the incidents. The hotel reimbursed us for one night out of four nights. The employees were nice about it all. Our vehicle had $500 worth of stuff stolen and one of the other vehicles had over a $1,500 worth of stuff stolen. If you have security cameras they should be working. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! DO NOT BOOK A RESERVATION HERE!!! Never in my life, have I made hotel reservations prior to a trip only to get to the hotel to not actually be able to get into a room. We were stopping here on a long road trip. After driving 6 1/2 hours we arrived at the hotel at 12:30am. We were exhausted. The woman working the front desk was quite possibly the least professional person in the entire world. Calling the GM in front of other guests talking about how other employees are out with "doctor's notes." Looked at everyone standing in the lobby and said "I don't know what you want me to do." And then she ran in the back for over 30 minutes. The excuse, their "internet" was down. Although WiFi was working, so go figure. Called HiltonHonors customer service. The man I spoke absolutely saved our night by booking us a room at the Hilton Garden Inn in State College, 20 minutes away. He tried calling the hotel to speak to the woman at the front desk but of course she had taken off. I have never ever ever had such terrible customer service at a hotel. None one here should be in the hospitality business. read more

We booked a queen suite and it was spacious. Very clean. The hall was cold, but the room was perfect. The front desk staff was friendly. The breakfast attendants were knowledgeable and friendly. We would definitely stay here again. It was a great price for the room we got! read more

We were on a road trip from WI to CT and just too tired to drive all the way. I looked at a map and saw a tiny town in the middle of PA right off of I-80. It was Lamar. I was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a Hampton Inn and Suites in this little town since I am a Hilton member and didn't want to spend a lot of money just to crash somewhere! We were able to book that night and got a room for a little over $100. The hotel was right off the highway so it made it very easy for us to just pull off and back on the next morning. The room was spacious and clean enough for one night. The employee at the desk was lovely! Given that this was right around the holidays, they were super busy but she was efficient and greeted each guest with a smile. When I let her know that my husband and I needed food and a drink, she gave us a few local suggestions. They ended up working out so well that we thought we will come back and stop in Lamar again next time we make this road trip. Hotel is dog friendly as well! read more

Nice entry (coffee in lobby) with cookies and cream on the scene. The room neat and tidy. Patrons are noisy with kids running up and down the hall screaming into the night. What a fright! The little girl peeing in the pool kept us from swimming like a fool! Breakfast was great but make no mistake: get there early before some little birdie drops a big turdie in the terrain. On Friday, November 3 we drove from New Jersey to the Lamar Hampton Inn and suites. We had a paid reservation from five days prior. We checked in and went to our room room number 209 which is adjacent to an ice machine that roars and rattles the floor to ceiling and penetrates into room 209 such that it is unbearable We requested a room change. The night manager told us that our room was switched during the day by somebody that he did not know. We were told there were no other rooms available in the hotel. 10 people were standing on line behind us and they were all given rooms and we were not taken care of. We were left with no alternative, but to drive 100 miles for another hotel or sleep in our car. After much argument, the night manager arranged for a room at the adjacent hotel for free. It is abundantly apparent that the management of this hotel is antisemitic It is obvious they picked the one Jewish family to put in an uninhabitable room In order to accommodate the Christian convention that was staying in the hotel The parking lot was full of Christian church buses Antisemitism can be shown by words and by action. The management of this hotel was clearly antisemitic by putting us aside in exchange to accommodate a Christian church convention. Management vehemently denies antisemitism and racism however, their actions speak louder than words. We have filed a complaint with Hilton. Requesting a full investigation of the events of the day, including the Semitism shown to us. We stayed in a old worn down fleabag hotel next to the Hilton the room was comped for free for the evening however, free rooms do not make up for the dirt and filth in the room which we had to sleep in To all travelers avoid this Hilton, it is beautiful on the exterior. The hotel is well-kept however, antisemitism can never be ignored in this world today. Antisemitism cannot be condoned or passed on. We must all raise our voices when antisemitism is apparent and instilled in a corporate mindset. We have filed a complaint with Hilton that has been escalated with in the Hilton hotel chain. read more

Not bad for a hotel located in the middle of nowhere. The big positive to this Hampton location is it's proximity to I-80 which can't be beat. But past that this place must be a ghost town overall. There's nothing in the area except three or four gas station/truck stops, a McD's, a diner, a dive bar attached to a scary looking motel, a Comfort Inn which looks like something out of the Walking Dead and this place. That's it. Aside of that you've got ten miles into the metropolis of Lock Haven or thirty miles to State College. Check in was a breeze as the place as I mentioned prior was a ghost town. The girl at the FD told me that they only had twenty two (out of seventy-five) occupied rooms that night. The one picture I uploaded shows all of the cars in the parking lot including any staff. Trust me, I walked around the entire building before taking the picture. The room itself was perfectly fine as everything was in working order and it's always nice when you get one of the newer Hampton locations with the fridge in the room as well. The pool was small as expected but was well stocked with a lot of towels and my guess was that we were the first people who had used it certainly that night if not in a while. The breakfast was your standard Hampton offering with oatmeal, eggs, sausage, yogurt, juice, pastries, english muffins, bagels, cereal, MYO waffles plus a few other things that I'm forgetting all served daily from 6am-10am. The one comment that is mentioned in another review regarding the beds being on the soft side I agree with as both of the queens in our room fit that description. Personally I'm down on that but I know not everyone is so caveat emptor. All things considered especially with where you're at in PA you could do a lot worse than staying at this Hampton as overall they do offer a good value for the money and a nice quiet nights rest. read more

I stay out here a few times a month and have never had a bad experience. The room is always clean, I can get check in quickly and the service is quick and friendly. The room set-up is a little weird because the desk and the TV are separated by a tall cabinet housing the fridge and microwave. A little annoying if you are working and want to glance at the TV. read more

We accidentally booked a room for the wrong night but they were still able to accommodate.us and start a refund process. Nice desk staff. 1. Upon walk-in, the desk clerk asked me for proof that my service dog is "certified." This is a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as human/civil rights laws in Pennsylvania. 2. After ordering Chinese food, the desk called informing me that the delivery person wasn't allowed to deliver to my room for "safety reasons." This despite the fact that I was staying on the first floor down the hallway from the front desk within their view. 3. While taking a nap, the hotel fire alarm goes off (waking me and my service dog) and intermittently went off for the next couple of hours. 4. Prior to departure, looked forward to a warm shower on a frigid day only to not have any hot water and water pressure that was below average. Perhaps, this is due to the pipe that broke causing the fire alarm issue earlier. ***The rooms are comfortable and modern. Really. But, the customer service leaves much to be desired. Hopefully, they will better train their staff, as General Manager Raj Dave, assured me. read more

Traveling on Rt.80 we were delayed by construction traffic and it was getting late. Based on the only other review I was a little worried. Come to find out we stayed here once before. Gene at the front desk was cheeeful and helpful. The hotel has been remodeled and our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast included scrambled eggs with ham and cheese, bacon, waffles, cereals, hard boiled eggs, bagels , fruit, etc.,etc. I really love the tub. A big soaker tub with an inclined back. If you are looking to book a block of rooms for a wedding venue nearby,forget this place! They would not give me a block of 15 rooms and no discounted rate. Their reason was because they didn't want to tie up their rooms as the little league World Series was going on . Williamsport is more than 30 miles away and they felt like they could get more money for their rooms for that event. Just trying to get a manager to answer questions was a hassle. Terrible customer service! We ended up using the Fairfield Inn in Lock Haven. They were wonderful to deal with. Great rates, very friendly and accommodating. I have heard a couple of horror stories about using the Hampton so it's just as well that we didn't use them! read more

Williamsport was the halfway point between columbus ohio and long Island new York, so we stayed a night here to pass by the little league world series. Hotel is nice and clean, modern and the staff is very nice and friendly. The bedside table has power outlets and USB ports for today's technology items which is great! A double room with two queen beds, 36" flat panel LED television with a multitude of digital HD channels. Microwave and refrigerator is very useful for families. My wife cut her back on a sharp metal hinge on the inside of the mirrored closet. Looking at the metal piece, we wonder why it's even there and what purpose it is there for. It's probably the clasping mechanism to keep the door closed. My wife went downstairs to address it to the manager, but apparently there is no manager on duty. How does a hotel not have a manager? The two from the desk representatives were sympathetic and tried to help as much as possible. Hopefully this review will address this issue and it doesn't injure another guest. Regardless of this experience, the hotel is a good place to stay and is appropriately priced. read more

For a highway hotel this joint hit the spot. There's three of us, we're on our drive back from Chicago to NYC and it's too late to drive all the way thru so we stop here at 3a. We get a suite, includes two comfy beds and a pull out sofa. Breakfast until 10a is included with the room, eggs + juice + waffles + cereal + "bagels"... You know the usual hotel breakfast items. For a hotel in the middle of no where it wasn't bad. The beds where very comfortable, shower pressure was good, staff was friendly and welcoming. But the place isn't extraordinary or have anything that really sets it apart from the average hotel. There is complimentary breakfast, but I wouldn't eat it if its anything like the day I went. The eggs had a powdery after taste that left a funny feeling on your tongue. The perk was that it had bits of have and veggies in it. The waffle mix was basically water, when you flip it a good portion of the fluid gets lost in the flip, and when it's done it resemble a hollowed out pill of beige . . . Well you know. Gravy was lumpy and not mixed well. Just get your breakfast somewhere else. read more

Cons: -I thought the beds were too soft. My sister and I kept sinking towards the middle. This Hampton Inn was the cleanest of any Hampton Inn we have visited. It has a beautiful modern interior, and everything worked! The staff was attentive and willing to answer my numerous questions without showing any sign of impatience. One young man named Tanner was especially helpful and offered information on restaurants in the area. He was kind and patient and greeted us every time we passed through the lobby. We walked around the property and couldn't find a piece of trash or anything out of place. I cannot find anything negative to say about this Hampton Inn! We usually opt for Hampton Inn when on the interstate, and actually chose this one because it was a little less expensive than the ones just down the road. I expected less somehow, but was beautifully surprised. and plan on staying here every time we pass through the area. The place sits sort of in a valley, very easy to access from the highway. The view from your window will always include mountains, which is always a plus for us. read more

We stayed here 1night. It was ok but not as good as the other Choice hotels. Our room was not clean. The tub needed to be scrubbed, I didn't fe comfortable taking my shoes off, the carpet was filthy. To top it off we were given someone else's rm and we walked in while they were sleeping. The front desk clerk was very apologetic and apologized multiple times. We were given s $20 discount which he had promised and fulfilled. I could tell the guy was a bit overwhelmed do I was nice about it. He fixed the problem quickly. We will stay at choice hotels if we just need a comfy bed to sleep in and take a shower. It's nice the breakfast is included. Good variety including gluten free bread. read more

Me and my 4 month old child stopped here late at night and was turned away by the lady at the front desk. Unfortunately I have a legit medical condition that prohibits me from wearing a mask .She told me they don't accept a medical condition as an excuse. I understand cooperate policy, but turning away a mother and a 4 month old is something to be thought about. Stayed the weekend with my family & had a great experience. It was a clean and friendly environment. They have a buffet style breakfast and housekeeping comes around in the mornings. There is an indoor pool and hot tub . They have extra towels in the pool room for after you finish swimming. I forgot to take pictures but everything was clean and neat.
