My son and I were pleasantly surprised with our stay at this hotel in the North San Antonio / Schertz area. We chose this one for proximity to our soccer tournament, and everything turned out to be nicer than expected. The suite we got was affordable, modern, and much larger than normal. We didn't hear any other guests or noise from outside. Front desk was super fast and courteous. There was plenty of convenient, well-lit parking. There are dozens of good restaurants nearby along with great shopping for last minute stuff. My son enjoyed the indoor pool, and the free breakfast is appreciated, especially when travelling with kids. I'm not a fan of the Hampton Inn breakfast offerings, as the quality and diversity of the food offerings is a step behind other chains. Overall, we left our stay well-rested and satisfied with the value. I would book here again. read more

So I'm writing this on behalf of my friend that stayed here, but she's not a Yelper. On a last minute change of plans she needed a place to stay quick. She called and they were very courteous and more than happy to get her a room for the night. Upon arrival, we encountered our friendly desk clerk who gave my friend a queen suite for a reasonable amount. In fact, like a previous comment I think it was for a std. room rate. But don't quote me on it. It was very spacious and pretty. My friend stated that the breakfast was very nice. They had a good selection other than the usual bear claws and bagels, lots of other choices. She also stated the coffee is very good, which coming from someone who brings their own coffee that's a plus. So if you're in this area, it seems like Hampton Inn & Suites does a good job and also, it's a fairly brand new hotel. THE HOTEL: My husband and I flew into San Antonio for his paternal family reunion. The hotel was nice, well kept and clean. Beds were very comfortable and pillows were down feathered. My personal favorite is the waffle woven extra blanket located in the closet. All Hampton Inns have this blanket and I always use it when I stay. The staff were friendly and informative. Parking was easy and free of charge. Near the elevators are brochures to all of the tourist attractions in San Antonio so no need to worry about where to go. LOCATION: The location of the hotel is about 15 miles north of the San Antonio Airport., however the Riverwalk/Alamo is a straight shot down I-35 South and easy to get to without hassle. There are a ton of stores and fast food eateries in direct vacinity of the hotel that make up for distance if you need to handle your business or pick up a few items: Walmart, Jack In The Box, Sonic, H.E.B (Its a grocery Store), Nail Shops etc. The hotel is basically in the perfect location albeit it's in a suburb of san Antonio. WHY NOT 5 STARS? We have no complaints. I only gave it 4 out of 5 stars because the breakfast could be a little bit better with more meat items and real scrambled eggs. But hey it's free so I won't complain too much. Bottom line, this is a great Hampton Inn and yes we woill be staying here again for next year's family reunion. read more

We are very disappointed after our one night stay here. We frequently travel and always stay with Hilton brands because we love Hilton Honors. My husband checked us in ahead of time on the app and chose our room. When we got there, they said they upgraded us and gave us a different room. When we got up there, there was a DND sign on the door which made us think that there was someone in the room. My husband checked his app to see if we were assigned the correct room and we were however it said we were in a QUEEN "suite". We went back down to the desk to express our concerns. Destiny said that there is nobody in that room and when we told her we wanted a King, she informed us that they were overbooked and so we were upgraded to the Queen suite. It wasn't a suite, it was a bigger room with a couch. The bed was horrible and neither of us slept well. My poor husbands feet were hanging off the end of the bed. He is 6'2" tall hence why we need a King sized bed. There was a room attached to ours where the family was extremely noisy while we were trying to sleep so we actually put the comforter and pillows from the other bed against the door to block out the light and sound. Breakfast in the morning is seriously lacking. No dairy free milk, no good fruit, the "omelette" was horrible, and it just left a lot to be desired. When we checked out, we expressed our concerns once again with the lady at the desk. She giggled and told us that hopefully we will have a better stay next time. I showed up approx. 20:00 hrs on 11/12 without a reservation and overheard the manager telling the folks immediately ahead of me that they were sold out. I was disappointed to say the least...it was getting late and I just needed rest... The manager says "how may I help you?" to my glazed over eyes sporting a nice ten mile stare. I said I'd like a room for the evening and i was embarrassed to admit but I overheard you say that the folks ahead of me got the last room. Well they did get the last "standard" room but I do have a double queen suite left... I asked what the rate would be on that room. The manager says that under the circumstances they would be happy to rent me the room for the price of their least expensive standard! And to top it off - the free breakfast the next morning was just awesome! Clean, professional and generous when they didn't have to be. 5 stars. read more

First off I have to say I was disappointed with my room as it had had some items that should've been noticed and picked up from housekeeping. Like most he tells you receive the invoice sometime in the middle of the night; however, I did not. As I was leaving I did stop by the front desk to request a receipt and I was also explaining to the woman what I had discovered in my room. She apologized and said she would take care of it I just said to relay the message to the Supervisor of housekeeping to take a further look. She expressed to me multiple times how sorry she was for how the inconvenience, again I told her I just wanted it to bring it to housekeeping's attention. She then said she was the GM of the property and would take care of it. I just have to say Danielle really did take care of it! Thank you again Danielle for listening to my concerns and taking immediate action that was above and beyond my expectation ! read more

We booked this location away from the San antonio strip as most hotels were sold out. We tried to get into the JW Marriott however it was all sold out for Springbrook week. I was reluctant and not sure what to expect. We walked in to check in, were greeted with such welcoming attitude. Check in was quick , a real breeze. The hotel was so clean and in order. I'm pretty picky bring my own towels when I travel, blankets n pillow. This place so impressed me, everything clean and in order. The whole staff was incredible. We only made breakfast 1 day however everything was fresh and good. The only thing we got there at 9:45 (closes at 10) things were shutting down, food was being put up. I was able to grab a good bagle, coffee, juice, cereal for my little one. Made pancakes but syrup was already put up. I wish they would extend 15/20 mins over for the late stragglers like me. this place is really clean, really awesome and customer service exceeds any hampton we've stayed at. They by far exceeded my expectations. We are definitely coming back. read more

Rooms were nice, staff was nice. Bathroom door was hard to close and even harder to open (elderly or young child would not be able to get out with out help). The Hampton Inn pulled a scam on me. I had reservations for the Hampton Inn on the next exit. I pulled into the wrong one and gave my name. They said they had my reservation and checked me in. Later I get billed for a full room charge at one Hampton Inn and a one-night charge for a no-show fee at the other. Neither hotel would do credit the charges. Stay away from these two hotel. This is one of my favorite Hampton Inns. The staff is extra friendly and accommodating. I am in the area often and usually stay at this hotel. The location is conveniently located between San Antonio and New Braunfels and normally is priced better than the Hampton Inns in those cities. read more

My stay at the Hampton was ok....never stayed at the Hampton before...got a package deal flight car and hotel cheaper :-) The hotel is fairly clean the wallpaper on the walls are peeling apart pretty bad but eh whatever... The room is pretty spacious and clean...the only thing I didn't really trust was the carpets...I would walk around barefoot in my room and my feet would be filthy...so socks on! The breakfast I was pretty grossed out tbh....they had cereals hot n cold...fruit and waffles...the buffet part...just really smelly and gross...eggs smelled like reheated scrambled condesatation eww... The coffee was god awful really bad water down old burnt coffee...they don't change them out often so just be aware The staff could be a lil more friendly and day hello when ppl walk by or have a nice day...wasn't terrible but could be improved. Check in was a hassle...im pretty patient I was asked to come back at a later time...so got something to eat and hung out cane back five hours later and my room was still not ready :-( so had to wait and the lady tried to find a room for me...I was thinking ummm I reserved this room a week ago lol...oh well I finally checked in ate twice coming back around 5pm Would I stay here again?? The first room we were given was cold and the refrigerator had an inch of ice in it that kept it from working. The heater came on and looked like it was working, but the display said the temperature never went above 70 degrees. It was a really cold outside, so after putting up with the chilly (to me and my old bones) room for a night, I checked with the staff the next day to see if the heater just wasn't cutting it because it was cold, or if the heater was actually broken. Hannah tried extremely hard to be helpful, but she didn't know much about the heaters. She tried to call maintenance (it was 3:30 in the afternoon), but he had already left for the day, so she cheerfully offered us another room and brought us new keys. This room had a working refrigerator, but the alarm clock cord was in two pieces with the plug end still plugged in and dragging on the floor. This room's heater went all the way up to 72 degrees before it gave up trying to get the room warm. The experience made me wonder why the maintenance guy was working banker's hours when there were clearly heaters, refrigerators, and alarm clocks to work on/replace. Like all the other reviewers said, the breakfast was quite unappetizing. Otherwise, the room seemed clean enough, coffee was available most of the day in the lobby, the hotel was quiet enough at night, and Hannah tried very hard to please. read more

Great stay :) we stayed here for a week while hubby did some work and a mini vacation. We had first made reservations next door but they had over booked and did not have suite to upgrade too. A standard room no fridge for a week.. ummm no lol. I did not find them all that friendly either. Hubby went next door and 10 mins later we had a suite with a fridge for not much more then we were paying before. Breakfast was pretty good every day. Was kept full and clean. We were right by the door to the pool so I thought eee gods I am going to be listening to that door slam all day. Nope was the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in. If you get food from that Taco Cabana right across the street thou be sure to ask for plates and forks in your to go order they are not smart enough to put them in then treat you like your the dumb one for not asking for them. One thing I did not like we did not have Wi-Fi in our room. We could plug into it but no wireless which I found really strange. read more

Stayed here for 2 days in a room w/2 queen beds, $104 nightly. Our room was non-smoking, but had the faint odor of someone smoking at some point in the not too distant past. Breakfast pickings a little slim (40 people waiting on 2 waffle makers, not much fresh fruit) but what was there was good enough. Front desk was friendly, check-in quick. Overall clean, stuff in the room worked, and no major complaints. 20 minutes from tubing places in New Braunsfels (wouldn't recommend tubing the Comal right now - slow, full of trash and more people than water), but that's another story. We came after checkin time after an 8 hour drive and were told our room wasn't ready even though we had a reservation. We waited about half an hour then were told that the 3rd party vendor we used to book with hadn't paid them so we continued to wait. I was quite irritated. Finally they gave us our room key. The king size bed was horrible and rock hard. The couch was more comfortable than the bed. We actually cut our trip a day short because neither of us got good sleep while here. The breakfast was gross and nothing was ever fully stocked. They weren't prepared for the amount of guests. When I talked to the front desk about my concerns he gave me an IHOP gift card. So much for a 100% satisfaction guarantee. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. read more
