I have noticed that there has been a decrease in the attention to detail and reduced amenities in the Hampton Inns and Suites. This location is a good example of the reduction. The room was clean enough. There was a spot on the desk in the room that had a dirty spot on it. We wanted to use the sofa bed but there were no sheets, pillows or other items to use the bed. It was late and we were tired so we did not want to have to go back downstairs to get these items. In the bathroom there was no lotion and the shower was out of body wash. I normally don pack those items for a one night stay. Because they used to have it available regularly. In the fitness center there was no water available and they had Lysol wipes instead of the normal wipes. I don't like using Lysol wipes when I am working out because they have too much saturation of chemicals and it gets all over me and my equipment. The last gripe is about the continental breakfast. The only yogurts were dannon yogurts. The oatmeal was Quaker Oats packets and the water was not hot enough to cook this. The milk for cereal was room temp. The eggs smelled so bad my daughter threw up. They were chopped up to tiny pieces. The chicken sausage was cold to the touch right out of the chafing pan. The breakfasts have really become an afterthought. They were out of coffee in the lobby. Overall not happy. I haven't given up on Hilton but the Hampton Inns are getting bad. I will give the other Hiltons may keep me coming back. I am really let down. They used to pay more attention to the details and seemed to care about the tenets. read more

The hotel itself was fairly clean , service was great. That pool was oddly freezing for it to be hot outside but my daughter went in there anyways lol. Breakfast was okay, I did really enjoy when they brought out the cheese omelet because that paired nicely with the ham. I didn't particularly care for the scrambled eggs. I think it was an overall good experience for the weekend. read more

This review is for July 6-8, 2021. I wrote it during my travels in Summer 2021 and copied/pasted it from my Notes app today. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member and a Travel Advisor who travels frequently including road trips. Hilton properties are typically my first choice for accommodations. I checked in last night (July 6, 2021- two rooms) with my family. I was very disappointed in the condition and cleanliness of my room...BUT I decided since it was very late and there was six of us that I would just clean and disinfect the rooms myself. Along with the layer of dust, dead bugs, fingerprints, crusted yuckiness and hair with a clothing tag folded inside a bath towel in the bathroom!!...the lamp shades are falling apart and mismatched; the wifi box is dangling from the wall; the nightstand, dresser and headboards are dinged up and water damaged; the toilet seat/lid are not installed correctly; and tub and sink could use some Draino! And my room was in better condition than my sister's room across the hall! I should have walked out and stayed at The Residence Inn across the parking lot (I am a Platinum Bonvoy Member), but like I said it was late and the gal at the front desk was very sweet (didn't catch her name, but she is THE ONLY reason for the two stars.) This morning (July 7, 2021) my experience with Stacy was confirmation that I should have followed my instinct last night and departed! Stacy was rude and could use a lesson or two on Southern Hospitality!! We were told breakfast was from 6:00-9:00, and my son rushed downstairs at 8:45 to find empty counters in the area labeled "Breakfast Starts Here." There were people seated in the dining area and no employees were visible for him to ask about breakfast. He came back up to the room, so I called the front desk...Stacy answered. My statement to Stacy was "I was told breakfast was from 6 to 9 and my son said there was nothing available." Her response with attitude was "I haven't put anything away, and I'm the only one who puts food out. I see biscuits, yogurt, cereal...if your son would've asked I could've showed him where the food was." She was not visible when my son went to the breakfast area! She put the food out in the dining area and not where there are pictures and signs regarding make your own waffles and the coffee station! AND her tone, comment and attitude was crappy! Had I not been on time constraint and traveling with my son, dad, sister, nieces and nephew, I would have checked out in the morning but both Hilton Garden Inn and The Residence Inn had no availability; I did not have time to go elsewhere. The price was super reasonable since I receive Military Rate or AAA Rate, but other than one friendly Front Desk rep the first night, I have no reason to recommend this property to any traveler! We stopped on our way to Florida. The hotel was very clean. Checking in we found Terry to be so helpful and friendly as she greetehelpful and so hospitable. Breakfast was a small selection, but tasty, well organized and staff was friendly. Pillows were a bit flat, but otherwise comfortable. read more

We stopped here last minute. Room available and at a very reasonable price so we checked in around 9:00pm and front desk man was super friendly with great customer service. He told us about the free breakfast and coffee that started at 6am which we appreciate because we are early risers. Next morning breakfast was good. Omelette and sausage and GREAT coffee. Hostess for breakfast was super nice, friendly and helpful. Room was very nice and clean. I always love having a receipt and it is already in my email. This Hampton is pretty clean and I liked the layout of the king suite. Housekeeping staff seemed to do a good job and the front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The free breakfast was "meh" but better than having to take time to go out somewhere before heading over to my client site in the AM. Only downside for me is that one night when I arrived back at my hotel after a long workday, I found the parking lot to be dark - for some reason all the lights in the parking lot were out. That was a bit disconcerting as a single woman going in to the hotel alone at night. read more

I selected this hotel based on the hotels.com reviews. Hot water was barely warm. Toilet was cracked. Sink drain was filthy. Shower drain ran slow. Killed a stink bug on the ceiling. I might stay here again but it certainly doesn't deserve an 8+ rating. read more

I stayed overnight on a business trip and when I went to check out, their system was having issues (not a big deal) and they had all of my information wrong and said my card was declined. I offered to show my credit card statement showing my purchase but they said they didn't need to see it. A week later they charged my debit card (not my credit card) for an additional $96.00. I never gave them authorization to use my debit card for anything other than the $20 deposit fee. The staff was very rude while trying to resolve the matter and getting a manager to call you back or speak with you is going to be a miracle. When I finally did speak with a manager she refunded the $96.00 and since my debit card was charged without my consent, I asked if there was any concessions they could give. The manager said she would contact Priceline and get me a full refund... that never happened. I had to call again a week later and play the "where and when is a manager available" game. After more rude employees, I called Priceline and they took care of the problem for me. This place has terrible customer care and will lie to you repeatedly if it gets you off the phone. Stay away from this place if you don't want random charges taken out of your account. One employee said it was well in their rights to charge me whatever they wanted (without my authorization) whenever they wanted. I'll sleep outside before I stay here again. read more

I loved this hotel! If you are visiting VCOM for any reason, I highly recommend this hotel. Why? You don't have to rent a car or worry about a taxi, all you have to do is fly in to the airport then a shuttle (provided by the hotel) picks you up and takes you to the hotel. The next day, the shuttle will drop you off to VCOM and pick you up whenever you tell them too. And of course they will take you back to the airport. From the VCOM website "Hampton Inn will provide complimentary shuttle service from the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport to and from VCOM Monday through Friday (when advance notice is given directly to the hotel)." I forgot all my toiletries, but the front desk saved me by giving me EVERYTHING! The breakfast was good enough and the dining area was extra clean. I didn't have any problems with my room. I definitely got my moneys worth from this hotel. read more

I was in town for a conference. We got there about 3:30 ish. Check in is at 2. The check in and lobby were very nice. They had ice cold drinks on tap a mint lime drink, very refreshing and a ice tea, which I don't try. I spot chocolate chip cookies, and well the Cookie Monster and I will one day battle over who loves then more. So so far all is well. We go up to our room and as I walk down the hall I see the security latch is propping the doors to many rooms open, including ours. I told my wife I would go in to check the room. She later said she was glad I was there as she didn't feel safe. I figured it was the cleaning crew but check in is at 2 and it is an hour and half past that. I go down to get our bags, maybe snag another Cookie, and on my way I stop at the front desk to say something. They tell me cleaning crew, which I already guessed. I made mention about safety especially if my wife was by herself. As far as the room goes very comfortable. I was able to make the room sub Arctic temp which is how we like it. The next morning we got up and went down for the breakfast bar. Oh my goodness. Awesome! They had French toast sticks, steak and eggs, with tortillas to make a burrito, and smoked sausage. I think I may have eaten my weight in the smoke sausage!! Then there was the waffle maker. Yeah i was a key d in the candy store. I found chocolate chips, and pecan which I put in the batter. When I went to get it off the waffle maker they had Carmel sauce. So yeah I had a turtle waffle for breakfast. So we go back up to the room to get ready for our conference and go to use the shower, and ants are everywhere. On the floor of shower, on the walls, and ceiling. I saw they were coming out from near the shower head. So we went down to check out and I tell the desk clerk who said he was so sorry. However there is a sign that say 100% satisfaction guaranteed or you don't have to pay. Not sure how ant covered showers falls under 100% satisfaction, or what has to happen to get that guarantee. read more

Pretty Good Hotel Pros: Front Desk personnel was extremely helpful and nice. Housekeeping was great as well. Had my room ready by check-in, it was super clean, smelled great and very cozy. Multiple week stays and they pre-reserved the same room for me for each stay. Hotel is close to mall, restaurants and the highway. Cons: Morning breakfast could be just a little better, it seemed as if the food wasn't even cooked thoroughly some mornings. Stayed here during a choral conference in Spartanburg. Got a great conference rate. Really nice hotel. Staff was very helpful. The room was large and very nice. The bathroom was really .great. Good water pressure which is always a big deal for me. The only downsides were the breakfast that doesn't start till 7 on weekends. That was a problem since I had to be a the conference at 8. They should also either have special plane check in kiosks or better monitor the computer usage since people were just chilling on facebook and I needed to print my boarding pass. read more

I thought this hotel was pretty nice. It was large and was in a convenient location. It was located right next to a strip mall, as well as an indoor mall. It was pretty close to the interstate as well. The staff was really nice but when I asked her what the capital of South Carolina was, she was uncertain. The business room was tiny and the computer was so old and slow. I couldn't even maximize a screen. It did the job eventually though. read more

Great staff, While here for work, I asked the local worker at the plant, what is there to do in the area, all I got was a depressing (insert accent) "you can go to the mall" but then I asked Dave at the Hampton's he gave me some great advice including Falls Park and downtown Greenville. Accidentally left a polo shirt at this hotel, called a few hours later requesting they mail it back. Apparently they can't find the shirt now.... very convenient... Learned an expensive lesson today, will not be returning to this or any of their other chain hotels. read more

Stinky hotel!!!!! Looks nice but smells awful!!! They allow smoking in the rooms. No warning that I was getting a smoking room and there were none to change. All the bedding and towels smelled too. Dude feel clean using them. Probably need to take out the drywall and replace it to get rid of the smell. read more

We stopped while traveling to Florida. Staff was wonderful as we arrived. Hotel was clean, room was comfortable, breakfast was good but not great and the little store in the lobby gave a much better variety than any vending machines. Although hotel was almost full did not hear noise from other rooms or from hallway. read more
